  1. Hi all. I am about to move so as I was cleaning out the garage, I came across some of my old geocoins that I need to get rid of. Pq - Not Running

PQs not working for me either. They show that they ran, but nothing in my email.
  3. "Tours"? Really? Do you know that for a fact, or are you just assuming that's what happened? Because I don't remember seeing you at the event last night. Though I did see Marky & Joni as well as Kablooey, Woof! (great to meet all of you finally) along with several other cachers from up north. I also meet a dozen noobie cachers that came to the event completely unprepared and not knowing the first thing about geocaching. Fortunately there were many VERY giving geocachers there that went out of their way to explain geocaching, assist them in GPS usage, shared waypoints with them and even helped them get around safely in the desert all the while asking nothing in return and logging NO FINDS FOR THE DAY. I saw a fantastic event with well over 150 geocachers and their families, put on by some of the most giving people I've met that reached into their own pockets for raffle prizes, food, etc... and didn't ask for a dime from anyone. I also saw what a great bunch of people we have here in Southern California, and saw many examples of why I wouldn't want to be associated with any other group of cachers out there. If that doesn't qualify as a geocaching event, then I don't know what would. Also for your information... The 140 caches that were hidden were a collaboration by many people throughout the Palm Springs area. These were not 140 caches thrown under light poles so people could rack up their numbers. These were caches that were placed over a 2 month time period and timed for release with the event. It's important not to make comments about something that you know nothing about. It makes you look foolish as well as mean spirited. Why don't you try to stick to what actually happened rather than assuming things next time. Or better yet, attend one of our events here in Southern California. You might actually learn something and meet some fantastic people along the way. -- edited for clarity.
  4. Seems like it might be a paradox, but not really. A virtual cache should be a VERY rare thing that meets very stringent criteria. It should be a hidden gem that most people simply won't find unless there is a virtual cache there. Disneyland gets more than 1.2 million visitors a year. It's a very unique place, has a lot of wow factor to it, you could probably argue that it even has some historical significance. How is it different than this other "tourist" attraction? (And all the existing virts inside D'land were approved before the new guidelines went into place, just in case anyone was wondering. )
  5. This is just another lighthouse. Thousands of them all over the place. All of them have history behind them, but they're everywhere. This is neither unique nor has any kind of "Wow" factor to it. You can nitpik the guidelines all you want, but this one ain't gonna fly.
  6. Sure. We can do it.... You want to organize it this year?
  7. Well, quit trying to hack our site and that won't happen! I'll fix it up for you so you can get back on. We had been hacked a few times in the last couple of months so I put some pretty aggresive protection on the site.
  8. A post over at Southern California Geocachers might get a few more responses.
  9. Ditto for me. Asks for a plug in. I'm able to log in, but can view, search, etc... I'm on a Sanyo RL-4920 using Sprint as well.
  10. Give it a little time. You just sent the request into SoCalGeocachers a day or two ago. I'm sure we can find someone to adopt them for you.
  11. Yup. Still there. www.socalgeocachers.com
  12. So sorry to hear about Yrium's passing. I'm sorry I didn't ever get to meet him, but his posts are an inspiration to us all! I think a memorial would be a great thing. If Southern California Geocachers can help in any way, please let me know. Our site should be back up in the next couple of days. Dan-oh, I'll get back to you about adopting the caches.
  13. It's coming. Tough finding a pizza place that can host 100 people at a minimum! It will be in Fontana or Rancho Cucamonga on July 30th.
  14. Hey everyone. I'm back from vacation. We are currently working on a solution for the site. At best we should be back up on Tuesday or so with all data intact. At worst, we'll be up at the end of next week with a brand new, clean site. Sorry for all the confusion. This couldn't have happened at a worst time!
  15. Hey everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a pizza event in Rancho Cucamonga on Friday July 30th at Graziano's on Baseline (more than likely). The date is for sure, but the place isn't. I'll post the event as soon as I return from vacation on July 1, but I wanted to let everyone know it was on. Later!
  16. How about a pizza event in the Rancho Cucamonga area any one of the days that works out best for you. There are several pizza joints that can handle a medium sized group. What day would work best for you?
  17. We might be able to throw something together in the I.E. Lots of good pizza places around here. Why don't you send me an email via my profile and we'll if we can't set something up. Too bad you won't be here on the 10th. We're going to have our annual SoCal picnic.
  18. Actually there is about a 100% chance that it would get approved.
  19. Just because I really enjoy beating dead horses... If it is on private property that's owned by a company, then it sounds like a commercial cache and it should not be approved on that basis alone. As far as getting a virtual cache approved, if you take the advice given here and speak with your local approver ahead of time, you will probably get the answer "Make it into a multi", but at least you'll know before you waste your time submitting it. I almost always give the "Make it into a multi" answer when I get requests for approving a virtual, but that is because it can almost always be made into a multi which is what the guidelines and the owners of this site have suggested to do anyway.

    Possible Bug...

I just noticed something that may or may not be intentional... If you go to the print friendly version of a page, then hit the show logs button it shows the five latest logs as expected. If you then decrypt the hint with the decrypt link, when the page reloads, it shows all the logs for the cache instead of just the last 5. Not a biggie, but I thought this was odd.
