Ive tried contacting the last 5 people who posted logs for the cache, and only 1 person responded advising me that i wasn't there's. I thought maybe someone dropped it in the cache and intended to activate later (as mentioned possible above). but its been a couple weeks now and it still shows not activated. Im just going to drop it in another cache next time and send it on its way. Ive done more that a fair share of trying to find the rightful owner, and help them out.

Thanks for the suggestion.. Ill hold on to it and see if does get activated.. It looks brand new, and I DID post in the log that it appears to be unactivated.

I found a cachekinz travel bug this weekend in a cached that appears to be not activated. When I try to pull up the Trackable on geocaching.com, it says that "This Trackable (Cachekinz) hasn't been activated." Ive re-entered the tracking code on the tag several times (and there is no letter O or zeroes that I might be typing wrong). What do I do with it? Is there anyway of contacting the original owner of a cachekinz purchased TB?

Thanks, That answered my question. Although I have the 2nd Gen Ipod touch, and cannot multitask in order to keep the app up and running before clicking in the link in the message. Ill just hold out for the 4.2 update. Thanks.

When I click on a link to a cache page in an email I received alerting of a new cache placed, the http://coord.info/GCXXXXX link starts up the Geocaching Iphone/Ipod touch app, but then does not go to the cache page listing. It just brings up the application, and then stops there. any suggestions?

I started to do a new cache, and entered all the vital info, but did not want to enable it and have it published just yet. Since then, Ive decided not to do the cache, and want to remove/delete the un-published cache from my profile. I dont see an option to delete or remove it.. only Archive. How do I delete it?

ive found that for the cost of the cable for the Etrex H to connect to a PC, plus shipping costs, its better to just upgrade to the Legend, or the Venture HC (such as I have) which come with the USB cable (no serial to usb adapters). The Venture HC is color, and has a joystick to enter coordinates.

I accidentally logged a find on a cache that I hadnt found, and then went and deleted the log. Now my Statbar in the geocaching.com website is correct, but my profile found count is still 1 number higher. Ive seen this happen before and I thought it corrected itself previously.. It hasnt as of yet..

have a buddy that I geocache regularly with that uses his Ipad (that has 3g) and it works fine. Like the other said, its a big iphone. A little large for the job, and you wouldnt want to drop it, but yes, you can use it.

the next rule will be you can only find this cache on a specific day of the week! and has to be done naked or something.. Sheesh. (playing the other side of the argument here )

I have the same GPS, and load the PQ's into GSAK, and then send idividual or filtered items in bulk to the GPS. Works great.

When your geocaching in a public place, such as a busy public parking lot, do you try to make yourself look "inconspicuous" so as not to arouse interest in what it is that your doing? such as standing in the middle of a parking lot, about to raise a lightpole skirt? Ive found myself pretending like im on my cell phone (which is actually my GPS) waiting on someone to show up, etc. Are more people geocaching at night to avoid raising suspicions?

I have to agree with dfx. The maps are a little slow to load on the gps, but hey. its free, and shows street level detail.

I just registered mt version of GSAK yesterday. Let me tell you, after 80 days past the free trial, the nag screen is atrocious. It just kept getting longer and longer, and then pops up in the middle of using the application, making you wait! registering it for the 25.00 they want, was well worth it..

I recently purchased a new Garmin Venture HC unit, and ive found through searching, that I can use Google Earth to plot out a path (using the path marking feature) and then save that path as a KML file, which can THEN be converted to a GPX file. After getting a GPX file, I can then load it into the Mapsource application. The problem is that when I do this, it loads as a "Track", and I would like to use it as a ROUTE which I can store more of in my unit than the 20 tracks that im only allowed as "Tracks" Any suggestions?

the satelites screen on the tom tom one, will show you the long/lat coordinates that help alot as well.

I just started out Geocaching lately, and one of my first caches found, there was a Travel bug in it, which was trying to get to Africa, that I took. The Travel bug was found in a cache next to the airport where I work, and I thought about taking it to a cache by my home, away from the airport. But the more I thought about it, the TB should stay close to the airport where someone else who finds it, may be able to get it on a plane heading to Africa. Me taking it home and putting it in a cache where I live is going in the opposite direction. Can I put the TB back in the same cache I found it in?

I was actually amazed by how many old discarded car tires there are in the middle of forested area.
