  1. After an almost 2 year break, I dug out the old GPS and jumped back into Geocaching. Anybody remember me? Probably not.

Well, I'm Scot from Lodi and I hope to see you while I'm out hunting.

Found "Against my Wife's better Judgement" today, but got Stumped by the clever placement of "Taste of Lodi". Second time I have tried that one. Maybe the grass is getting too tall.

    Hello again,

  2. I had a great time at the geocaching dinner. Sorry I had to run, but it takes me almost an hour to get home. It was a lot of fun meeting all of you dedicated cachers. Or maybe I should call you 3 digit people. I am still way back in the double digits (17). But I have 2 really tough ones in there (G-2 and Only on Sunday). Hey if you can't brag on numbers, you gotta claim something. :-)

Thanks again for the good company.

  4. My new cache "Lena's Place" has been approved. It is in Jackson. I hope everyone likes it. I styled it after "Only on a Sunday" by Ron Streeter, but it is much easier. I think I said all of the above in a previous post, but here goes my question. Is anyone still trying to solve "Only on a Sunday"? I thought is was pretty amazing (and lucky) when I found it.

Have fun with Lena...I think you will laugh.

  6. This was the question.

Scot, I'm trying to get a feel for how big the parking is at Ebbetts Pass. I flirting with the idea of going down there on 4th of July. Do you think the parking will be full?

    Here is the answer.

The parking lot could hold about 20 cars (if well parked). This area is not packed on a normal weekend, but could get a little worse on the 4th. I would go ahead and try it. I would also suggest driving a small car in this area if possible. Highway 4 is little more than 1 and 1/2 lanes wide and has no center stripe. I will upload a pic to this cache site that was taken a few weeks ago at the entrance to the parking lot. You can see the road and the snow that blocked me from getting into the parking area.

  8. My wife and I found the G-2cache. It had been sitting near my favorite fishing spot for almost a year with no finders. I am writing this to encourage all of the Central Valley Cachers (especially Ron) to go for it. It is an absolutely beautiful area. The hike is a killer if you follow the descriptions instructions. FOllow mine instead. It was a fun weekend with great fishing.

    Have fun everyone.

  10. I posted my SUV saga on the cache page late last night. One minor detail...Officer Rees and I noticed that the battery had already been removed from the SUV. Since it looked impossible to remove while it was inverted, he (and I concur) said that it was probably pushed down the hill after the joyride was over.

  12. I TAPED IT RON!!!!

They put your name under my face in one little part of the story. I think that is why people were amazed how much different you look on TV. The piece was over 2 minutes long! I guess we are famous NOT!!!!!

I will see if I can get someone to copy the tape so that you can have one Ron.

  14. I had a great time in the Lodi Lake Nature area with Ron, Ethan Harp and Will(the cameraman). Ron was absolutely excellent on camera and was able to bring a lot of expertise to the conversation. I, on the other hand, could only give the newbie perspective.

I would like to take this opportunity to again thank Ron for his time. It was a really enjoyable afternoon.

As soon as I hear anything about the air time of the news story I will let everyone know.
