  1. If we are doing a few caches I am so sad as I write the date on the back of my hand - saves me asking Mr MJ as I always sign the logs(unless there is a bit of a scrabble up and then I 'allow' him the important job of signing LOL') so date then name from me as I can just about remember that
  2. We started by travelling, calling in and staying for an hour or so according to who was on site and chatting and then driving home We attended a number of events in N Wales with Marzipancurtis one of Liane's Nuneaten way but that has led to us buying another caravan ( after scrapping our old one) and joining in the fun and what fun it is as well LOL The rest is history I know a number of cachers who are either buying or thinking of buying camping gear so they can join in as well after hearing the stories. Plus if we didn't attend camping events we wouldn't have met the much wider range of caching friends we now haveand look forward to meeting Anyone who calls in for a smillie misses out on the experience
  3. and now the guessing game begins well it would except I have no ideas at all
  4. I thought I would not like this challenge thing but after reading some of the wise threads above I think this could be a good thing but it really depends on the quality of challenges really. but again its about choice. As we choose the type and quality of the caches we find so then we can choose the type and quality of the challenges. It has the opportunity to open or integrate many other aspects of peoples other interests into it, and I’m thinking integrating a challenge around a game of golf! Collecting the cords for all 18 flags for instance. Then Lilian would have me out caching 7 days a week. Regards Tony
  5. Dave can I just point out one or two things and then I promise I will go away and let you all get on with it.. Firstly nobody has ever made an issue out of the money paid but it would have been respectful to ask the people who set the mission for their opinions for it regardless. Secondly there is a whole page dedicated to the G.A.C in the very nice program provided by the Welsh Committee at the last Mega in the supporters pack. Are you now telling me they only sold 5 or 10 (only kidding) but I guess that’s a few hundred people who are now aware of it, so perhaps a little more than 1%. Also the Mega Wales did a splendid job of displaying the G.A.C at both the Mega and on the Mega Wales Web page and a jolly good number have visited that I’m sure. Well at last you have now asked the correct persons involved to give an opinion so its now over to them and I personally don’t really care if someone turns it into a hat and wears it to events but I am now glad that someone has finally asked the right questions. Kind regards as I leave the room Tony
  6. I think the Ammo can is the UK Geocaching history developing over the years. The contents are unique and irreplaceable - I know replacement coins could possibly be recommissioned if any were stolen, but would not be the same. I would not like to take on the responsibility of hawking it from event to event. Plus to be pedantic the mission is to go to megas so perhaps it should be in the hands of Pop Up Pirate, Mega Piratemania will be before Cartmel and has a proven record. On it's Facebook page, 56 people have stated they like it. - I had to 'like' it to allow me to add a post to the thread Lilian The cacher of Mollyjak
  7. Dave thank you for your post and you make some very good points. I'm not going to get involved in this too much but my points are this. Why is it assumed that we can do what we like with this TB without the courtesy of asking the people who set it up and paid for it? This is a matter of respect and simple courtesy. My very first post if you read it again on this subject was simply informing people of the intentions of the Welsh Committee and I felt very strongly that cachers should be given a voice in such matters and I did not express my own opinion at that time. The ammo can is a unique feature and needs publicity, but this can be done without the risk of taking it around different events. The Facebook page is an excellent start in doing this the NW web page is another. Considering the relatively small numbers at normal events compared to a Mega is there such a benefit in showing it at small events? All of this can be argued for the next year or so but my original point stands people who have invested time and money into this TB should have the respect and decency to be consulted as they finally were last year after my post, and if you read the post through again the large majority had their voice heard.. Regards Tony
  8. Well Simon I guess that my reply is not really what you expect but after the disgraceful intentions of the Mega Wales Committee to go against not only the Golden Ammo Cans Mission but against the very people who created it, this is hardly surprising revelation what does annoy me is the way that cachers’ wishes are being ignored yet again and these people have not been consulted regarding any change of mission. My question is to anyone who sets something off with a mission, would they like their travel bug’s mission changed without notification or consultation? It really comes down to respect and it seems that as soon as people acquire the Official Mega Status these days they lose respect for others.. A sad thing but I have decided not to follow or entertain the Official Mega and concentrate on things and events with more integrity and honesty Regards Tony
  9. We've been to all 5 so who are the other 17????? I was wondering who else has done all 5 last week but have no idea how to find the information
  10. I just want to state that I am not complaining regarding the reply but the use of quoting personal emails this has nothing to do with the inaccurate reply that has taken three days to manufacture. If I was to answer every point, and I can, it would have to drag up committee meetings and ask the people concerned, but then like us I'm sure people would get bored as they probably have already and moved on. I have complained because someone has broken the rules and if it were the other way round I'm sure I would be reported. I would have expected people to stop posting on this after asking for it to be locked. I have stated my case and the committee have replied, well I am making the assumption that it has been agreed by the whole committee. Due to the overwhelming support both on here privately and in the forums, one person’s words have stood out and I quote “When all the people that matter know the truth then why are you seeking recognition from a bunch of fools” this rings very true so I’m sorry whilst waiting for the reply I lost interest and have moved on. Unless the committee want me to answer their post that is. Kind Regards Tony P.S. I'm adding this for all the people who are out there thinking Ohh is he scarred of the reply hes received. Well the answer is no if you would like my reply to this then email me or send me a private message and I will give a full response to you personally. I just don't want to give this anymore airtime.
  11. Can I now aske the moderator to lock this post. The last post has been reported to Groundspeak for quoting personal Emails and private information wich is against Groundspeak rules. A simple yes or no would have done but this is what We have had to put up with for 10 month. Glad this is now over and I would like to thank everyone for thier wonderful support and comments Regards Anthony
  12. Dr Solly what has happend here is unfortunate but the Mega Wales Committee have done the job of delivering a good Mega alot of them have put in a great deal of effort to deliver this. This may surprise some readers that I am supporting them this way ( I posted my best wishes here before the Mega weekend)but my original post was to gain some recocnition for my Wifes involment not to detract from a Mega that I myself enjoyed most of.
  13. Due to on-going circumstances and events elsewhere on this forum. I just want to put on record that there has now or anytime been any mention, accusation or suggestion from us, to any form of impropriety regarding the Mega Wales accounts. I have put on record with the person who is carrying out the audit this position. The Treasurer of the Mega fund in my opinion is beyond reproach and I would defend vigorously from any such accusation. I have put this post simple to clarify our position publicly and after reading a previous post in this thread mentioning the Mega Accounts. Again I refer to my original post, the facts which I am full able to substantiate with evidence to back this up. I would however like to say that all the committee needed to do is acknowledge the work my Wife has put into the Mega and all this would be finished. But this is the reaction we have received over the past 10 months Silence until some form of attack can be mustered.
  14. personally I enjoyed the Mega, meeting so manyu friends, as I have the last 4 we have intended. Although I take on the views of you all, All I can say is this. the venue took a considerable amount of time to decide on and this is because we set a criteria for wha twe thought as everyone. A place that could hold a 1000 to possible 2000 people if it was raining, I in my experience not seen a Marque that big. Also it had to be in a place that could cater for the non caching members of the families near shops or attractions (the beach in this case)because simply not all family members are into our hobby and although suffer the manic time consuming compassion we have to search for little boxes, want more than this for thier holiday. To coin a familiar phrase "Mega's are like a Box of chocolates" everyone has thier favourite and as "me good ole papi"said you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time
  15. My only comment on this is were is the evidence, and why has it come from a reviewer and not the committee themselves?
  16. Please by all means take all the time you need and enjoy the rest of your Mega Events. Regards Tony
  17. After a good night sleep and some thought about what I want to achieve with this post I have come to these conclusions. I do not wish this post to degenerate into a personal attack on anyone or for it to cause division amongst cachers. For the best part the committee have put in hard work into the Mega and for that I appreciate and have told some of them personally in emails and to their faces. I will however save the committee some anguish and time, stating that all I really want is for the Chairman to acknowledge publically the significant work Lilian put in to the Mega until my illness became the major priority in our lives and I resigned. Nothing else, then this whole business can finish and we can get on with our lives Regards Tony
  18. Simon I will welcome the reply from the Committee although it surprises me you need all that time, but please try to be acurate because you have been proven to be economical with the truth on previous posts on two occasions. And I also agree that Hywel was a main contributor with the coins over the fund raising period I have never disuted that fact Regards Tony
  19. Your point is well said there will be no nastiness from me I have simply put the truth out there for people to finally see, I do not wish this to degenerate and would be more than happy for you to lock it if you judge that to be right Regards Tony
  20. Lilian was the original fundraiser for Mega Wales as well as organising the Scottish Mega fundraising campaign she has travelled over a thousand miles and attended a great deal of events running fundraising events to give Mega Wales a basic money pot to start with, altogether she roughly raised £3500 through her own actions. It was Lilian who persuaded me to put around £2000 of our own money into commissioning the golf coin and purchasing prizes to raise funds solely for the Mega. It was Lilian who arranged the lovely Harpist that you enjoyed at the Mega Event It was Lilian that arranged for Dia Dragon to attend the Event for the Children It was Lilian who first encouraged the creation of the Sand castle event your children enjoyed. And it was Lilian who arranged the purchase of the Turtle caches you enjoyed in your goody bag. It has been open season regarding my wife over the past 10 months and we have not said a word. She was bullied on the local forum to a point that the moderator had to step in to prevent further unpleasantness. All this time we have remained silent as not to disrupt the Mega none of our actions can be interpreted in this way. The Mega remained the same as the day we left it before my resignation through ill health, if not a very watered down version, It seems that in the eyes of the outgoing committee having a serious illness and being told to prepare for the worse is a crime punishable by silence and paranoia and to this day not one member has given a reason for this deplorable behaviour. Without so much as a by your leave or a simple note we got expelled from the Mega forum and it was left to moderator to inform us of this, just one more example of this immature attitude. I have no problems with what anyone says about me but I love my wife very, very much and feel that she should get the recognition she deserves from cachers, without the twisted and bitter overtones that have be cast upon her. Some will now say that this is “sour grapes” or ignore the truth. Even yesterday certain committee members had told some visitors when asked about their favourite event over the weekend got told “oh Sand and Sarnies, we don’t talk about them” this is the childish ignorant way people behave. Well the Mega is now over and the gloves are off so let’s get down to the truth!! Kind Regards All Tony (Mollyjak)
  21. there's seriously something wrong with you. This post is from a sock puppet account to make it look like Hywel is posting - the name is spelt with a minor difference which is not easily seen. I agree with you that there is something seriously wrong with the person who is imitating Hywel. Lilian
