  1. Where is it written that a geocache has to be published anywhere? A geocache is simply a container in the woods referenced by coordinates. If I call my friends up and give them the coordinates of an unpublished cache and they search for it, they are still geocaching. But there's a difference between you hiding a cache and then giving your friends a set of coordinates, and them watching you out in the field hiding your cache . . .
  2. Well, that's not likely since the finder (HD) has gone to the effort of adding this cache along with a bunch of other CondorTrax caches to a Bookmark List entitled "Caches On My Ignore List". http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/4eb988...02e7ec8ab03.jpg He saw the CO hide the cache, snook back later to "find" it and claimed an FTF 3 days before the cache was published. Not exactly in the intended spirit of the sport. I wonder why his caching partner (AB) never logged the find.
  3. . . . at the very excellent "So where have all the degrees gon(e)?" . OK, OK- excuse the lame plug! Anyway, great job guys! That's some caching effort over the Memorial Weekend - 43 's from Sat thru today.
  4. Nice job Andy - maybe we can finally hook up for #500
  5. I'm visiting Tampa for a conference this weekend and have the first part of Sunday free. I was wondering if anybody would like to team up and do a few caches. I'd be happy to pay for the gas and tolls etc. My preferance would be to do a few quality/out of the ordinary caches as distinct from a bunch of "Wal-Mart Micro" types Cheers, Gerry
  6. . . . Treasure of the Queen Anne's Revenge by Old Navy. Nice job, and for any of you puzzle cachers out there - you could do a lot worse than check out Resolution's "Alia's Wish"
  7. Nice job Felipe! Probably belongs to a (tiny) minority of cachers who have solved twice as many puzzle caches as they've had time to actually find. Truly a puzzlemeister!
  8. POB (Point of Beginning) is the national trade magazine for professional landsurveyors. The March 2007 issue features the Following article: http://www.pobonline.com/CDA/Articles/Feat...000000000061761 .
  9. Nice Job Andy Bear - it was a real treat meeting you and Harry Dolphin after "The Fanghorn Forest" in the car park. Here's to the next 800
  10. I use GSAK and an iPAQ 2215. When I drop the .gpx file onto the iPAQ's SD card, the images never display. This happens to both .gpx files outputted from GSAK and also taken directly from my pocket query. I also noticed that if my desktop is not connected to the internet, the images don't appear in GSAK. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
  11. Nice job, John - hope to run into you out on the trail some day.
  12. Congrats to avgraphics on #300 out in Queens at "Prehistoric Frogzilla". Nice job Andy! Too bad we never hooked up for a joint! Joint milestone, that is!
  13. . . . I read today in John's (Old Navy's) log at Austin's Cache that the cache was placed on the same day (12-18-06) that his Father passed away. I thought it might be appropriate to alert the caching community, of whom John is a very important member, so that they might offer condolences, and maybe remember John, his dad and his family in their prayers in this time of grief.
  14. Merry Christmas John, and wishing you a happy and healthy New Year filled with smiley faces, and a big meaty bone to the REAL Quoddy
  15. Congratulations HD, and thanks for the great caches!
  16. Good Job BroMan - thanks for the caches!
  17. Who would be evil enough to sprinkle kippers about their cache listing??? on my menus, kippers were always listed as "Les Herring Rouge".
  18. Congrats Brian on your 500th! And thanks for all of your quality hides. To commerate, maybe I'll give Maneaters a 2nd try.
  19. My 2 favorite caches in central NJ would have to be Sound Judgement http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...60-e57b8abc901e and You have Chosen....Poorly http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...fb-5e7de80ee820 . Both are puzzle caches, that are extremely well planned, laid out and presented.
  20. Encountered my first ever bear in the wild yesterday at BrianSnat's The Best Cache in NJ (a.k.a. Hamburger Lady) . Big boy too. http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/1266bb...3359c526d2f.jpg and http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/54433d...b6e43dab8b3.jpg . very cool!
  21. Congrats Kane! - wish I could have attended the event. I'll be there next year for your . . .1000th? ? ? I mean, retirement has its benefits!
