  1. Sounds a little high to me Thomas Distributing is about $8.00 for same item. Lithium Batteries
  2. Currently there are 4 Garmin owners in my family that still live at home and between us we have 8 Garmin GPS units and three sets of mapping software with 2 codes used for each. I guess in the future we will have to look in other directions and to other companies when we replace or update our GPS devices. Garmin has been our #1 choice in the past but with this change we may have to re-look at the market. I know that companies like Garmin make these changes to increase profits for their stockholders. Short sighted changes have been the downfall of many companies and this short sighted change may have a long term effect on their bottom line. I have received several requests and offers from Delorme to try their new Earthmate GPS PN-20 with Topo USA 6.0 National - BUNDLE because I currently use their Topo software- Great by the way- now I may have to take a second look at their offer for $299 with maps. It keeps looking and sounds better and better.
  3. I would say about $225 without any software or accessories. If you add software and accessories it should go up from there. If you were to pick one up with software and other items for under $300 you did good.
  4. Looks like there are still a few of us out here that use the Rino Geocaching. According to one of the tech support guys I talked to a Garmin most of the RINOs are being used by our soldiers and they seem to love them. I for one am still waiting on the next generation RINO that have the same capabilities that my 60 CSX has before I upgrade. Hey garmin how about a 530 CSX or a GPSMAP 60 CSXR. I want one and also forget the Lithium battery lets ship with rechargeable AAs.
  5. I have several GPS units including a 60 CSX but I still love my RINO units. Does anyone else out there still use and like their RINO. 2 RINO 110 1 RINO 120 My 60 CSX is for my car and my RINO is for walking
  6. I am sure that either GPS would work well for basic Geocaching. I for one like the etrex units because I have owned several of them over the last 4 years. I still have two etrex units that are several years old and both still work fine.
  7. I use a 60 cs and a 60 csx for autorouting and I am very happy with both. My son has a vista cx and he loves it also.
  8. I also like the "pay it forward idea". It is rare these days that I even take anything out of a cache and love to add things to worthy caches that have little in them. As long as you try your best to leave a couple of caches better than you found them with things you have purchased you will be OK.

    Symbology

All I can say is wow what a great looking coin. This coin is in my top three all time favorite coins and rival the tracking time. Thanks for such beautiful works of art.
  10. Have you checked to make sure you have it set up for the correct time zone and daylight savings time?
  11. Why don't you look at the C320 or C330 and load the waypoints as points of interest. That will give you turn by turn voice direction as well as the mapping software at a good price. Just a thought
  12. Congratulations on finding your first path tag. The Path Tag is a signature item and if it is like the ones I put out it is up to the finder what they do with it. You should be able to keep it, trade it or move it along. Since they are not really travel bugs and can not be logged in and out of caches like a travel bug put it in your collection. At least that’s what I hope happens when I put one of mine in a cache.
  13. Call their customer service department and they will be glad to help you. I have had two opportunities to ask for help and they have exceeded my expectations on both calls. Guess that is why I have several Garmin units and will purchase additional products.
  14. One of the good things it does is store all your unlock codes. When I download to either my 60 CSX or my Vista CX I can swap the chips between each unit.
  15. As of yesterday they do have a recent complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Also as of this morning the hold on the funds was still on my credit card. I am glad I didn't try to charge something big with them. They also told me around 1:00 yesterday that they would have a manager call me back and so far Consumers Marine has not lived up to anything they have said.
  16. I got my letter today and was given the run around and hung up on when I called in. You need to check your credit card they as of today still had a hold on the funds for the GPS. It makes me concerned about Consumers Marine as a company.
  17. Sounds like false advertising. Has anyone filed a complaint with the state or the Better Business Bureau? Sounds like the kind of thing that might make them think about honoring their commitments. They were turning this listing on and off because I checked both of these items on the 14th and they said sold out and then on 3/16 they had the listing turned back on. I hope they just weren't collecting credit card info or trying to build a mailing list to sell.
  18. Email received and on hold with pictures and additional data sent. Thanks,
  19. I have just upgraded to a 60 CSX and have a 60 CS for sale that is in excellent condition. Included with unit will be a car power cord, car windshield suction cup mount, carrying case, computer cable and software. I will load unit with City Select v6 or topo maps for area of your choice. Asking $250 shipped. PayPal Preferred
  20. I would love a couple of each. WOW
  21. You can try this website for your SD card Micro SD I have purchased several from them with no problem. As for the USB cable any computer store will have that cable it is the same cable used by several of the palm products and several digital cameras. I would purchase the software from Amazon. Hope this helps a little.
  22. If you are about to get your new Garmin GSPmap 60cx you need to check out this post. POI Points of Interest information It gives some great information for the use of POIs for you new Garmin.
  23. Deafhunt Send me your address through my "big rick" profile on Geocaching.com and I will send you a coin. Big Rick PS This is for deafhunt only
  24. Yes the price is a little more but I own (2) 60 series units and two etrex units and there is little or no difference in the reception, with the exception of the new 60 series with the Sirf chip. The main advantage you will have with the Basic Venture CX is the ability to add maps and user defined points of interest. You will also have a color screen, auto routing and battery life that is exceptional. Well worth the extra money in the long run. Don't get me wrong both the units you are looking at are good units but the Venture CX gives you more for your money and if you shop around online you will be able to find one for about the same price as the GPS 60.
