WAAS shortens battery life?
Izzy and the Lizard King replied to Jacobite's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
The same here. Fitted with rechargeable batteries we reckon that we get a good 15-16 hours of caching out of a single charge. Included in that figure is a fair amount of night caching with the backlight on so that is going to reduce what the unit is actually capable of achieving. P -

Why does caching feel different now?
Izzy and the Lizard King replied to Icenians's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
We totally agree with everything Hazel has said. You've got it in a nutshell. We also feel it is similar to the way letterboxing on Dartmoor went (how we started before discovering geocaching). Too many shop bought, unimaginative stamps seemingly under every other stone you picked up. The real "gems" were the home made or custom designed stamps placed in quality locations. There was so much thought and effort put into them, making them far more satisfying to find. Izzy & Paul -
Geocaching on BBC's One Show
Izzy and the Lizard King replied to Rosie's Rangers's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
It's true. All comments get published in the 'Audience Log' and are passed on to the producers of the programmes. Whether they take any notice or not is another question... Would this also apply to comments made through Their Website? -
Wow! That's even rarer than the rarest rare "Blorenge Orange" label.
-
Yep, we must be sad too! Although ours is currently a few miles from home, it tends to hover near the location of the first cache we placed. At one point our centroid got to within 100 feet of it. Regarding banana labels.....if anyone's got any swaps, we are desperate for a "Lush Buganda" label
-
It would be interesting to know if anyone else is getting a warning
-
Of course! This a plum.

I'm being indecisive. Do I spend £6 on fuel to go for the FTF on a cache(micro) published an hour and a half ago? Do I stay here and wait to see if war breaks out in the forum? Do I do the sensible thing and go to bed or do I carry on practising my 'Father of the Bride' speech?
-
This a lump? Surely it's not that offensive?
-
He wouldn't want to tread on anyone's (webbed) feet. Would he?

I imagine Mandarin is sound asleep in her nest now. It's where all sensible ducks should be at this time of the night

I reckon just the lack of respect is worth several hours. If a reviewer, who I am sure doesn't carry as much weight in the forum as a moderator, should be refered to by their full title (I refer to Graculus, of course) then I feel that a moderator in the forum should receive the respect that their position demands. So in future, please address our most honourable and respected mod as 'mandarin'. Else Nogbad's gonna get ya! (an' that's before Thor Nogson puts ya away) -

What? That cheap old thing stuck in a hedgerow? I seriously doubt if it ever got the landowners permission............. No. Not that one - the landowner was a real Grumpy Old Git! There is a much better multi in and around the village now -
