  1. Very useful link, thanks, but it doesn't mention ICT? I've found this given in the clues for a number of caches and initially thought "Information & Communication Technology" - but apparently not! It seems to be a tree of some sort, usually a Horse Chestnut Tree - so why ICT not HCT? Have racked my brains and still don't get the I bit. Help! Ivy Covered Tree (thought by some, with a warped sense of humour, to be the ideal hiding place for a camo'd micro) P
  2. Are Oregons and Colorados really thirsty or are the batteries rubbish? We've been using the same set of Uniross 2300ah batteries for over 3 years in our 60CSx and we still get 16-20 hrs from a single charge. It all depends how much night caching we do. Although we normally take spare batteries with us when we go out for a days' caching if we are dashing out for an FTF, it's a case of grab GPSr and go. We'd be well pleased if our batteries gave up on us and we missed the FTF because of them. We could certainly see it happening if we could only get 6-8 hrs charge at a time. Sorry, but we don't see that as a good buy for us. I & P
  3. Yep, that confirms the event for me. Now I've just got to look at all the attendees. Ooooh, my bruv went to that one! Bob, why didn't you tell me?
  4. Welcome from us too We promise to bee-hive ourselves, we wouldn't want to get stung! (groan - ok I'll buzz off now )
  5. Congratulations to The Washers On finding your 4000th Well Done, Ron & Diane Izzy & Paul
  6. Yep, I think you're hooked!! Congratulations Kathryn, Alan and Katy Izzy & Paul
  7. Having got our hands on a pack of 10 Polar Foil resealable bags (£1.99) we reckon they must be the most cost effective and efficient camo bags available. Coloured dark (almost black) green, with a feel similar to a space blanket but non-reflective and guaranteed 100% waterproof and tearproof - they are amazing. Rated as being thermo-neutral, the inside temperature will always be the same as the external temperature - therefore no condensation forms. The ones we've got are approximately 10 x 8 but we understand that it can be bought "off the roll" in metre lengths and a metre wide. It is easily glued with silicone adhesive. Has anyone actually used the stuff as camo for caches? We've tested a bag outside for the last month and we can say that with groundfrost, rain and sun it is still perfect and so are the contents. We'd love to know if anyone has had them out exposed to the elements for longer as we are planning to use them for a series of 200+ caches in a fairly exposed hard-to-get-to area that we don't want to have to be maintaining every other day. Feedback from users would be much appreciated. It would be great if we knew that if we used them today to protect/hide caches, they would still be okay in 12 months time. Also if anyone knows of any other uses, please let us know. Paul
  8. Other options :- italic different size - I think that size has a maximum value of 6. bold you can combine any or all of these options along with your colour, if you so wish. Paul edit: I can't get it to display the commands - help!
  9. Ah, Ironbridge - a fascinating area and some lovely surrounding countryside. Don't think a weekend would be enough though! We agree with Maple Leaf that the Forked Tong Motorway Mayhem is a must do. Indeed if you do any of the Rosie's Rangers caches you really can't go wrong. We did the bonus GC1AF92 for our 1000th find and had a great laugh. You might be within striking distance of a couple of markandlynn's night time caches which are both tremendous fun. GC13J7V and GC161EC Bridgnorth is not far from Ironbridge and has got rich pickings with at least 3 LollyBobs series. What are your criteria? Cache and dash, great views, historical interest?
  10. Well I'm 54 but at times feel like 104, does that count? Seriously, that's great going! I hope I'm still active at that age. Good on you, Dyffryn. Paul
  11. Perhaps it's a case of quality, not quantity? We all know "It's not about the numbers"
  12. It's in a sealed outer so you will have to buy it to read it. Actually, being the FTF on it we know that there is a good spoiler in the mag. Despite the DNF, we are sure that it is still there. The deputy editor (who wrote the article) says that more are planned in other parts of the country at a later date.
  13. Welcome Back, D.J. Glad things are getting sorted. Izzy & Paul
  14. Uniross 2500mAh give us 16-18 hrs of constant use with GPSMap 60Csx including a few hours of night caching with the backlight on. This is the pack we got over 2 years ago and they are still going strong - as good as the day we got them! With superfast AC and in-car adaptor (not that it should be needed) supplied - an excellent buy. Paul
  15. I take no responsibility for post #74 ~ I hardly ever post on here now. It was t'other 'alf (also named Paul) When the cats away and all that Sorry, Paul Izzy (edited to add MY name)
  16. What's up Paul? Have you got an inferiority complex? I wouldn't worry about it if I was you. The chances are that you haven't got a complex at all.... It's probably that you're just inferior! P
  17. Come on, let's not beat about the bush, let's name and shame........ (I know who my four are, anyone willing to start the ball rolling?) LiS I fail to see how that would achieve anything productive. If you feel so strongly about it put your cards on the table first and learn how to make friends. P
  18. Oh yeah, you had to go and bring up Culloden didn't you??? Just for old times sake would you like to tell us what happened at Culloden? P
  19. Victoria is obviously a professional model and looking good? for her age I remember her face from when she was modelling back in the late 60's. She was the face used for the cover of King Crimson's debut album "In the Court of the Crimson King" She hasn't changed one bit. P
