  1. When I first started geocaching a good friend of mine gave me a whistle on a rope with a little charm on it. I haven't been as good about wearing it as I should be but it is was a good gift. She said that if anything happened, like cachers got seperated, you came across some danger, or fell and hurt yourself, to start blowing on the whistle to get someone's attention. Luckily I haven't had to use it yet, but it's just a suggestion to cachers out there. And yes, I do realize a cell phone is your best bet, but that's just my low tech 2 cents worth.
  2. We have gone to the regional forums with these as of Friday. I believe we are good on New Hampshire now but still need Delaware and Montana. Ok, I've been a slacker and still haven't hidden the Illinois cache - I'm working on it though, I promise! (just would rather take the time to do it right than to rush it on this one). How goes the search for the last two states? We are missing one state still... Montana. I did post a request on the Northwest Regional Forum but have not gotten a volunteer yet. I will give it a couple of more days and then post a request on the MT Cachers Forum. Does that mean you have Delaware covered? If not we can do it! This is awesome!
  3. Without a hint, that one is going to be very, very hard. I recognized the code right away, but only because of some very specific background I happen to have. Without a hint, that's a 4 or 4.5-star puzzle, in my opinion. So is it too much of a hint to ask what background you have that allowed you to see a code here? The stuff I've been trying just hasn't really been working out. I think I need to set it aside for the night and take a fresh look in the morning.
  4. I did a multi-cache in Southern Ohio called Mentally Challenging, it was at an old insane asylum. Very cool. How about this one, I want to do it on a dumpster and call it "Totally Wasted". Don't think that will get approved though!
  5. Yeah. When I solved it, I noticed a potential problem and contacted the owner, who fixed it. Hey thanks for taking the time to look at that and work it out. It makes me feel better since I was getting no where fast with it! We're going to keep working on it but I don't know how far we'll get especially if it could be at least a four star difficulty and codes aren't really my deal. I wish I hadn't spent so much time on the wrong clue but hey, the big picture is we're all chasing tupperware in the woods and it's just great no matter how much time I spend on it! Thanks!
  6. Just wondering, does anyone know if a "Davinci Code" Cache has been done yet? That would be fun!
  7. Oh geesh my eyes are bleeding again.... We're working on it still! Thanks for geotools clarification! Google can help you and google can hurt you it seems.
  8. If anyone find themselves in North East Ohio with their geopup make sure you check out "Those who cache unseen beside us". It is a memorial cache placed by Alpha Wolf that honors our most loyal caching partners that have passed on. My geopup, Tug aka The white tornado (Named for his caching style) is honored on that page.
  9. Ah...I had an idea that the first part was Right then left but that's all the further I got! So was this some code or was it just a common knowledge thing or what? Nice job though anyways! Are you a whiz at counting toothpicks also?
  10. Oh geesh you make me feel bad! I don't want someone to hold my hand and tell me where to pick it up at! I just wanted to know if Geotools is GIS or is it Java or is it some type of shovel or what! Anyways, I've seen actual pictures of caches and locations in the forums. Why isn't that considered bad form? Tragically, no one has found this cache yet so there is no one to ask and I don't like to run to the owners right off the bat. And I've all ready put too much time into this to ignore it! It's PERSONAL now!!!!
  11. Ok, I'm trying to figure out the papa/november cache in 44004 by phil/nichole. They're good! I don'y understand the use of geotools to decipher the code of rtltnls fsrfpfk. I've researched GIS and Java script until I thought my eyes were going to bleed! Please tell my I'm making this too hard! Thanks in advance for some guidance!
