    Urwigo Sound

Further question to my original post. I would like to turn off the radar ping when the player enters the GZ zone BUT retain the total number of radar pings used as an item in the players inventory. Is this possible?

    Urwigo Sound

Thank you Forest-Ghost for your time and expertise and testing on different player platforms to resolve this issue. I understand your logic on which order the sound files should be now. Such a small difference in the set up can make a huge difference when playing cartridge. Huge thanks from me !!

Forest-Ghost, I changed the order of the sound files and it did work on the emulator, thank you. What type of phone did you try it on - apple or android?

    Urwigo Sound

OK, so you suggest not to include the .fdl files for someone using a garmin? I have just uploaded the Bundy Reverse. urwigo file as you requested. Is it possible for you to send me the amended urwigo file? I havent finished the cartridge and when I download your amended Wherigo from Wherigo.com I cannot open it in urwigo to continue working on it.

    Urwigo Sound

I understand about uploading the sound file. What urwigo file do I upload? Do you mean a gwc or gwz file?

    Urwigo Sound

Thanks Forest-Ghost. I did not know that webwigo does not support sound, something learnt. What file do I upload? I do have a drop box account and could upload the file to that.

    Urwigo Sound

I have been working on a reverse Wherigo cache using Urwigo. The main item is the reverse cache box which entails the player utilising a radar ping to get distance to the cache.I have a media radar sound that I would like to be played when the player hits his radar ping button. The radar ping works and gets the distance. BUT, I cannot get the the sound to work, can someone assist? I have tried and tried and searched forums etc but cannot resolve this issue. Attached is the action for the radar ping.
  10. Ranger Fox , Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I will make contact when info is ready. Cheers, Gil
  11. Thanks Ranger Fox. I will go through my notes and send info as soon as I am 100% sure of the changes needed. What is your email address for the email? It may take me a bit of time to get this detailed info, can I contact you when I have it. The physical location of the Wherigo is approx 1900 klms away from me and I have friends getting the info on the infrastructure changes. Sorry to put you on hold, just want to get it right, can I put your offer on hold till I am 100% sure Gil
  12. Hi again Ranger Fox, you have given me hope that I may not need to rewrite the whole thing. So if I provide you with the new questions and answers for the 2 x zones that need to be changed you could edit them in the cartridge? Then if GZ is moved problem solved. What do you need to have a look at to accomplish this (lua/gwc/gwz ??) file, access to my cartridge on Wherigo ?? Cheers again, Gil
  13. Hi Ranger Fox. To my limited knowledge and your first answer and googling everywhere it seems that I am up for a rewrite. What a bugger, but, lesson learnt, keep a copy on external back up. I did manage to get a heap of zones out of the lua file (nothing else out of the lua gibberish) so that is a start. In the field this Wherigo takes between 4-6 hours to complete so I have another question for you. We have been advised that some people have taken others to the GZ to sign the log without physically doing the Wherigo, do you have any protections that can be placed in the cartridge to prevent this. At this stage all I can think of is keeping the .urwigo file for edit to be able to move GZ. Still hopeful that with your knowledge of this Wherigo stuff that you may be able to access the file and extract stuff or edit somehow to give some assistance. I can send to you the source file/lua, cartridge or what ever I have if you are prepared to have a look at it and advise further. Regards, Gil
  14. Hi Ranger Fox, I did what you suggested and downloaded the cartridge and the source file, unfortunately there was no .urwigo file uploaded. There is only 3 things that need changing, that is, the questions and answers in 2 zones (real world infrastructure changes) and move GZ. The lua code I opened with notepad and that is gobblygook to me, I could not even see the questions in there. You said you may be able to give some help, if you are prepared to have a look at the source, or lua, or cartridge could you tell me if it is possible to edit? Cheers Gil
  15. Thank you Ranger Fox. I have googled and searched for my next question but it appears that I may be out of luck with this. I wrote and uploaded a cartridge to Wherigo.com, which I ticked the obscufate and encrypt buttons in urwigo prior to upload. Lost my copy when computor died. Since then infrastructure in the real world has been changed and made the cartridge unplayable. It was a large Wherigo, 49 zones with many tasks, questions etc. Is there a way that I as Wherigo owner/publisher I can download it to amend it? Cheers, Gil
  16. I am looking for some help. I am using Urwigo to produce my Wherigo. I want players to be directed from zone to zone without any interactions, messages, tasks etc. say, on enter to zone 2, zone 3 is immediately displayed with its image (player follows nav arrows and distance to zone 3. on enter to zone 3, zone 4 is immediately displayed with its image (player follows nav arrows and distance to zone 4, and then on to zone 5 etc. Is this possible? Cheers, Gil
  17. Thank you on your information on how to close the zones, applied the instructions and progressing further on my Wherigo troobloo
  18. Is it possible to forward urwigo file of a Wherigo to get some assistance with a couple of issues. My problems may be a simple fix but I cannot resolve them. 1. I have 7 zones active and need to close a zone after player leaves that zone. (error message in urwigo builder) 2. Completion code, I cannot get it right. I have persisted and connot resolve these issues. regards, troobloo Email me
  19. Hi yourself, I am trying to construct a Wherigo using urwigo, as there are no wherigos in my part of Australia. I have scoured the Groundspeak forum and everywhere else that google points me to. Is there any updated info that is available for this program, help, tutorial, manual screenshots etc. I have been directed to a lot of sites that I can't get access to or files that are no longer available. It seems that everywhere I look, the dates are quite old. It seems that I am dumb as the inputs (left and right) are driving me nuts. I keep getting errors that inputs overlap or need left or right inputs. My brain just cant get a handle on this. Another problem I have is F5 button throws up exception errors and won't go to emulator. I am trying to get a pic of the error to show you. I can't copy the error screen. Tried to send copy of my Wherigo so far, either as .urwigo or .gwz and I get an error I am not allowed to send this type of file. I apologise for the contact thru here, but I hope you can assist or direct me to further help/assistance. I cant send a pic of the error through here either, maybe my attached lua file might throw up same error for you. Regards, Gil (aka troobloo)
  20. Hi, Just a quick note that may interest you and help with the decision on the timing for your visit "downunder" The OZ Mega Event is on next year so check the listing and maybe include that event on your trip. cheers, troobloo
  21. Hi J-Annie I am in the process of producing a Wherigo cache for an event on the 4/5th Dec 2010. I am having a few hiccups with tasks etc. Can you forward to me your course with tips and trix? It may be very helpful at the moment as time is running out for me. Regards, troo1@bigpond.com Gil aka (troobloo)
