Από ότι φαίνεται, η συγκεκριμένη ένδειξη σου δείχνει τα δευτερόλεπτα ως δεκαδικό μέρος των λεπτών. Δηλαδή η ένδειξη 1' 30" (ένα λεπτό και τριάντα δευτερόλεπτα) αναγράφεται ως 1.5'. Ο πιο απλός τρόπος να κάνεις την μετατροπή είναι να πολλαπλασιάσεις το δεκαδικό μέρος των πρώτων λεπτών (αυτό που είναι μετά την υποδιαστολή) με τον αριθμό 60. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι τα δευτερόλεπτα. Για παράδειγμα, από την φωτογραφία σου, η ένδειξη 47° 31.437' μετατρέπεται σε 47° 31' (0.437Χ60)" ή 47° 31' 26.22". Αντίστοιχα η ένδειξη 122° 02.098' γίνεται 122° 02' 5.88". Παιδιά χαιρετώ κι εγώ μετά από μακρά απουσία από το φορουμ. Είμαι ο παίκτης zakis, κατά κόσμον Ζαχαρίας, και είμαι από την παλαιά φρουρά του geocaching στην Ελλάδα. Δυστυχώς δεν είμαι όσο ενεργός θα ήθελα αλλά αυτό δεν σημαίνει ότι το geocaching δεν παραμένει μια από τις μεγάλες μου αγάπες. Από την πρωτοχρονιά του 2005 οπότε βρήκα το πρώτο μου cache στον Εθνικό Κήπο, πρόσφατα μόλις βρήκα το 50στό. Αρχάριος δηλαδή ακόμα Είπα λοιπόν να γράψω σήμερα και να ευχηθώ σε όλους καλή χρονιά και καλό κυνήγι κρυπτών. Επίσης θέλω να χαιρετήσω ειδικότερα και τους παλιούς γνώριμους (αν ακόμα διαβάζουν τα forum posts) George and Christina, YanniG, Antonis_GR, j_rouss και SerZ.

65 is the correct answer. However this is derived by using the actual Greek numerals ( PiEpilson-KappaBeta which are 85-22=65. I am not sure though which part of the coordinates to replace with 65. Good luck

Ρε παιδιά, ένα λαθάκι έκανα μη βαράτε. Με το που είδα ότι είχα πατήσει το check για premier members only το άλλαξα αλλά δυστυχώς είχε φύγει το ενημερωτικό email της Groundspeak. Φυσικά διαφωνώ και εγώ με τα εν λόγω cache. Γενικά είχα περιορισμέμη πρόσβαση στο Internet όταν βρισκόμουν στην Σίφνο και έκανα την καταχώρηση λίγο βιαστικά. Πάντως από πλευράς νέων cache τα πάμε περίφημα. Άντε να βρούμε και νέους geocachers τώρα... Ζάκης

Hello Starf, You will find many geocaches in Athens and it suburbs so make sure you stay a couple of days extra Lesvos has 5 caches. Have a look at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...7&lon=26.215567 Currently there is no local site for geocaching apart from this forum section. We are about 20 active Geocachers in Greece and few of us met at the 2nd geocaching 2006 meeting in May. Enjoy your holidays. Zakis

Hey geocaching buddies! I think that the area of the Athens center is a little bit congested as far as geocaching is concerned. Look at this image: 21 caches within a half-hour walking distance. Given the small crowd of greek geocachers I think that we overdid it. I am not saying that we have done something wrong. On the contrary Yannis, Dimitris, Sergios etc have done a great job promoting geocaching in Greece. However, foreign geocachers are overwhelmed by the Athens caches and tend to ignore the caches located in the suburbs. Anyway that is my feeling having seen the visits that my two caches at Kifissia have been getting the past months and I thought I should share it with you. Has anyone seen if other cities around the world have similar situations? Best Regards, Zakis.

I apologize for writing in Greek. FYI I am starting a thread to see the Greek community views for geocaching.com decision to remove the google maps feature. Γεια σας φίλοι και φίλες, Δεν ξέρω αν το παρατηρήσατε αλλά κάπου στις αρχές Μαίου στις σελίδες των cache στο geocaching.com στην θέση του χάρτη είχε εικόνα από το Google Maps ή/και Google Earth. Εδώ και λίγες μέρες επέστρεψε ο χάρτης της Microsoft. Κατά την γνώμη μου ήταν ένα άριστο χαρακτηριστικό γιατί σε σχέση με τους άλλου χάρτες (Microsoft, Yahoo Κλπ) είχε αρκετές περιοχές της Ελλάδας σε υψηλή ανάλυση δίνοντας ένα πολύτιμο εργαλείο στον υποψήφιο geocacher. Αλλού στο forum γίνεται κουβέντα για τα πλεονεκτήματα/ μειονεκτήματα των google maps/earth. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=131746 Θα ήθελα να ακούσω και τις δικές σας απόψεις και αν συμφωνείτε να στείλουμε μία "επιστολή" στο geocaching.com λέγοντας ότι η Ελλάδα θέλει Google Maps/Earth γιατί οι χάρτες της Microsoft μας δίνουν μια πολύ γενική απεικόνιση της εκάστοτε περιοχής που δεν ωφελεί σχεδόν σε τίποτα. Great tips Yanni, thank you. If you want to order the magnets that Yannis mentions, search at ebay.co.uk for "Neodymium Disc 1/2"x1/8" Magnets NdFeB Magnet". The size of these magnets are ideal for film cannisters since they do not take much space and are very powerful. I also use them for refrigerator magnets. These babies can hold anything One tip I would like to add for film cannisters is to use IKEA pencils for logging. They fit just fine and they are quite weather proof. Keep Caching Zakis

I agree with YannisG that cache descriptions should be in English. I encourage comments to be in English too. Posts at this section of the forum is something different. I think that if a greek geocacher is more comfortable writing in Greek then he/she should post in Greek. I noticed that under the Geocaching Groups by Country section there are subsections based on language (French Speaking, German Speaking) and subsections based on country (Belgium, Canada, Greece etc). In the Belgium subsection most posts are in English but there are quite a few in French. My suggestion would be to leave the choice to the user to start his thread in English or Greek. Follow-up posts should follow the language of the first post. Have a great (cold) week zakis

Σήμερα μόλις ανακάλυψα ότι μπορείς να βλέπεις geocaches στο Google Earth. Άψογο! Θυμάμαι πέρσι είχα βρει το cache στην Πύλη Αδριανού χωρίς GPS με μία εκτύπωση του Google Map έχοντας εισαγάγει με το χέρι τις συντεταγμένες αφού τις μετέτρεψα σε δεκαδική μορφή. Μεγάλο improvement για το Geocaching. Δείτε και τον χαμό που γίνεται από caches στην Αττική:
