  1. Definitely consider the Dakota 20 , it has everything your looking for and more
  2. I believe im just going to go with the Dakota 20, now that i made some more money because of a huge pick-up at work, the dakota is more what i want so i figured i'd save for it
  3. Thank you everyone for posting your replies, the main reason I asked this was because i'm considering the Dakota 10 or the Dakota 20 and the 20 has the compass among a few other things (SD card input). Just wondering which one i should consider
  4. I've set my mind on the Dakota 20, and it fulfills my requirements, I have never used a GPS for caching and this is the one I'm into PM me or Email me at ( MusicalSleep@gmail.com )
  5. So far I do not own a gps but I'm not just gonna stand around and wait for it, my buddy and I go geocaching with some necessities: -googlemap picture or two PER cache -copy/paste/summarize geocache info -water bottles -snacks -backpack for carrying everything We look at the pictures and make/determine little land marks that lead usually straight to the cache. So far every geocache I've found 28 and counting (not much I kno) has been with only those listed above. I'm getting my dakota 20 soon though
  6. I'm pretty sure this is the spot for this topic but I was just wondering. Is the electronic compass essential to geocaching? I was just wondering if any of you who do not use them: are you guys successful like any other geocacher, and whats your reason for not using the compass?
  7. GPS Requirements: Waterproof 10+ battery life Uses batteries (not charger) Eletronic Compass (definite) External Antenna USB plug or SD card com. attachment Any Ideas?
  8. The 76 seems to be the better option at the moment. I'm looking for something with the following: _+10 battery life _Uses Batteries _Compass _Preferably External Antenna _ USB / SD input for info And the rough price im willing to pay for would be around $200-$250 any suggestions?
  9. is the 76 paperless? i may want to consider this one, im looking for something a hair cheaper though, and I don't want to trust ebay.
  10. I hate asking these questions, but what do you mean by floats? > > > EDIT: I'm preferably looking for something under $200
  11. I'm starting to become an avid geocacher, and i understand the 60csx isn't paperless but i have something for that. And my friend's garmin is something I warmed up to but he wouldn't part with it if his life depended on it. 11 founds and havent used a gps yet. I'm 16 and really want this to become a long term fun hobby.
  12. havent you seen splinterheads on the front of the site? its in the movies its automatically real duh! funny whatnot aside, i wish somebody hid a underwater one by me
  13. I wouldn't mind geocaching alone, but one of my friends that i got into geocaching has started as well, so its usually us two or we bring a friend who is into it, urban or light forest alone no problem but deep forest far from people i wouldn't mind having someone for safety
