  2. Okay back to square one. They had 3 in stock when I clicked on the space shuttle geodesic geocoin. I got the rest of my order today but no geodesic geocoin, Boy am I disappointed. So, again, does anyone have the Space Shuttle Geodesic Geocoin they would be willing to sell? http://www.coinsandpins.com/space-shuttle-geodesic-geocoin-polished-gold#.UVx2nb9lecA Preferably in the silver, but the gold one will do.

  7. Okay, Pig Pig hasn't done anything as cool as that, but he's had a great adventure! He started in Wisconsin with a destination of Pennsylvania. In a year he's traveled 14,000+ miles and is now finally in PA. From WI he went to Connecticut, Texas, California, Oregon, Washington, Canada, Michigan, WI (stopping by my caches to say hi, but I didn't get to see him), MN then on an Alaskan cruise, back to Michigan and now he's a hop, skip and a jump away from his destination. Here's Pig Pig: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=2806379
  8. Thanks everyone! Maybe this could be something geocaching.com could implement as another feature.
  9. I see that on one of my bugs there are 3 people watching the bug. How do I view who's watching my little guy? I know who one is, I must be the second, but I am curious about the third. Thanks. -Karen
  10. This is a very interesting discussion. I do dip my bugs that are in my possession, but they literally are with me when I make the find. I keep them in my backpack/purse. I have forgotten bugs before, but since they are at home, they don't get dipped.
  11. I do enjoy dipping the bugs I have in my possession. I run The Green Family Tour Bus and add stories and pictures to as many dips as I can. Since I keep the bugs for awhile I like dipping them so the bug's owner is aware of its whereabouts and know that it is being an active bug versus one that is being hoarded. Here's an example of one of the bugs in my possession: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=82073d28-2eb9-4f78-9025-4039ae03c6a9 Currently Traveling Darlene (TB11FC7), Smurf Bug 1 (TB3N0BK) and Northern Star Council (TB3BRW9) are on the tour bus. -Karen
  12. After reading this thread I wonder what people do consider good swag. I've bought those party packs of of play-doh and used those for my kids to trade. I also have been looking through Oriental Trading Company for other ideas. I see that most people find the swag not so good. I am surprised at times what my kids find as a great find...plastic kid's compass, a McD's toy, an off-brand match box car, etc. I also didn't know it was etiquette to fill or restock a cache. I recently went to one of my caches to drop a bug and I was surprised to see a few swag items in it. It is a small lock and lock container and doesn't hold much. I originally placed the play-doh in it. My children do understand that they can't take anything unless we have something to drop.
  13. *sniff, sniff* It is with great sadness that I must report ELMER as a missing and most likely dead bug. I had not been keeping up with the cache it was in and didn't see that the cache had been missing a few times and replaced a few times. WAAHHH!!! This bug had such a short life and only traveled 20 miles. *sniff, sniff*
  14. I got this one. Oh wow!! Thank you so much! I am so excited because this is the same type of coin that I just found and sent on it's way! Thank you for your generosity. -Karen
  15. Oh Boy! I would love to adopt a coin! I just found and sent off a trackable coin. I liked the coin so much that I just purchased my first one off of ebay tonight. I live in Wisconsin. I love knitting, swimming, making cards, hiking, spending time with the kids and my favorite color is red. Thank you for this opportunity! -Karen
  16. I recently found a 2007 smokey mountain geoquest geocoin in a cache and I really liked it. I have been searching for one for myself since then. I found one today on ebay and bought it. My brother and his wife saw the coin that I found before I dropped it in a cache and commented that they would like one as well. Does anyone have one they are willing to sell? or know where I can buy one? I am new to geocoins as this coin was my intro into this fraction of geocaching. Also, the one I had had a plastic sleeve that opened as a book. Where can I get those? Thanks in advance -Karen aka, The Green Family
  17. I posted this on another thread, but I think it is more fitting here. I also am new to all of this. I have hidden three caches and have taken the time to track down the land owners or managers of the property to get permission to hide the caches. I read a description in a cache placement where the person stated something like, "I passed a cemetery and couldn't help but stop by and hide a cache." This makes me think the person did not notify the land owner first. It makes me wonder if all locations require permission such as a cemetery or park. Thanks for your input.
  18. Hello, I am very new at this. Only been caching for 2 weeks or so. I have placed 3 caches. I am still learning as I go and I have a couple of simple questions (I hope). The first question is what is the hoopla about FTF? and second, this is the first I caught wind of placing a FTF (monetary) prize. Is this expected? I hope I didn't disappoint the people who found my caches already. My last question, and if there is a better forum for it please let me know and direct me there, do people get permission to place caches for every site? I have so far, but I am having difficulty figuring out who the land owner is for some places. Cemeteries, for example. I see a lot of caches posted in cemeteries. I was just wondering. Thanks.
