  1. Thanks for the fix, Team GeoDillo SF1
  2. Garmin 12 - which for some reason I still can't divorce myself from. Everyone I cache with, know I do better with the older gps vs. the newer and slower Etrex legend. I can't explain why the legend is slower than the 12. SF1
  3. First off, never ever give out the 6 digit to any tb. Hopefully, you or the MOD can edit it out. On you tb pkg. you should have gotten a mail address label with the tracking # and the activation code #. Make sure you are logged into GC then you should be able to activate it. But, since you don't have the code - send an email to http://www.geocaching.com/contact/ and explain your problem to the Boss. You may want to include your receipt and invoice no. just in case. It might take a few days, but they will get to you. Happy Caching Strikeforce1
  4. Ummm, it was a joke. See Charles, This is why you need to eat your veggies, especially Eggplant. Listen to your parents, and eat your veggies. That will help give you the thick skin, you’ll need for the job. Good Luck SF1
  5. Holy cow, what a prize to win. I should get a bug or two entered, too. SF1
  6. It means they are using a tb, to track their caching miles. These tb's don't stay in a cache for others to pick-up. The owner logs them out usually right after they post a find or note to the cache page. Hope this helps explain it. SF1
  7. Unfortunately, the *PHEROMONE Cache* has been archived. NOTE: The 2003 CannonBall Run racing tb owners should re-direct their tb towards a different cache. I've sent an email to CacheNCarryMA Congrads on almost reaching your goal. SF1
  8. The FTF smells "fishy" to me. From the same town 800 mi away! I see Flags Flags Flags. To each their own. I glad I'm not like that. SF1
  9. Hey wakeboarder180ss, Turn on your GPS and make sure your communicating “Garmin / Garmin" or “Garmin”, it's under "setup". I forget how the legend is set up. It’s one of those things you do once, and never need to change it again. Open Easy, then on the top tool bar = file>preference>then on the menu box push the “add GPS” and select the gps you are adding. Then on the top tool bar of Easy, select “GPS” tab, then scroll down to the ”test serial connection” and let it find your gps. If it doesn’t find your gps, you may need to toggle your comm. Ports till it does. You should be all set. If not re-post. Good Luck SF1
  10. I believe that's the error for "when the server is very busy". You may want to try again at a different time! If you get thru, it was definately the time frame. If not, re-post again ! SF1
  11. Hey Gralorn, If your talking about dropping of a tb from your possession. Here is how to do it. 1) Log on to GC dot com as usual. 2) Go to the left side and click on the “My Account” tab. 3) When the new screen pops up, on the far right you should see a list of tb’s in your possession. Check and verify it’s in your possession. (flight of fancy 03/13/05) 4) Go to the cache page you physically dropped it in. 5) On the top right of all cache pages, you’ll see the first tab log your visit, click it. 6) On the next page, select “write a note”, set the proper date you dropped it off. 7) In the comments field box, you can just put ”dropping off tb”. 8) Scroll down the page to the smaller box on the left and select (highlight) the tb you are dropping off. 9) Then on the lower right click on “Submit log entry”. If your talking about picking up a tb. 1) Go to the cache page you picked it out of. 2) On the right is listed the tb’s in that cache. 3) Click on the one you took. 4) On the tb home page, in the upper right blue box, click on “Found it? Log it? 5) On the new page press the down arrow to open the menu, and select “retrieved it” from ???? cache. 6) Add your comments in the large box. 7) Scroll down and to the right you‘ll see “Submit log entry” 8) Press it. That should set you free! If you need more help, re-post. SF1
  12. But, too small, may allow it to be misplaces, tucked into the far corner of a backpak, fanny pak or lost very easy. SF1
  13. Hey mortaine, Maybe, I can answer this, or recommend something. In last years race and other times, I’ve seen that some photo copied the ID Tag #’s and laminate them. Others have engraved the # on the bottom, some rivet the tag to the item. I recommend that you make it look like a real tb tag so cachers can recognize it as a tb. I’ve seen owners alter the tag to look different, and cachers visiting the cache, just overlook the tb. I don’t see a need to make it “micro ready”, but that’s your choice. Just make sure it has wheels. I’d think, anything that had wheels, would eliminate micros. Good luck SF1
  14. Hey muddylips, I thought you left us! LOL I checked it out, under additional hints. It refers to the way it is hid. Some areas hide stuff under logs, others under rocks, others in trees – various types, fence posts, lamp posts, on and on. I’m really avoiding the direct answer. I hope, nobody directly answers your question, not to be mean, but it’s part of the game and how the owner has decided to hide it. If you really want to know, ask the owner to elaborate on it. It's the polite way to get the answer. Think of it this way, you went and placed a piece of your cache, and someone tips off others as were to find it. It kind of spoils the hunt. All your work goes down the drain. Happy Caching. SF1
  15. Somehow, I misread that jeep post, when checking his tb logs. Thanks for the re-direct and the point out thc and 7. Now I sit here, with egg dripping down my face. Dag, I hate when that happens. I’m just glad it’s not too often. I should go back and edit my log while I can. LOL SF1
  16. I wonder what GC.com and the community in general thinks of this. Do me a favor, TSD, don't EVER touch one of my travel bugs. I don't care if it sits at the gates of hell and you're the only one that can help it along. Dag, “I thought you were joking”! Yupp you fired up the pose! Head for the hills, and don’t look back! Who would publicly come and announce, “they stole something”. I'm glad, I went to check your profile page, and found out you've released all 15 jeeps that you got to handle. Lucky you, most haven’t seen any let alone handled them. BTW: If you ever get to handle my tb’s Thanks in advance for moving them on! You’ve done a great job moving the TB’s in your area. I hope to hit that number someday. You’re my kind of Cacher. Chain Yanker ! ROTFLMAO SF1 Edited by SF1 -- lost a quote link.
  17. It gives new meaning to “Circle of Life”. Dag-Nab-It, You should have warned us it was 4 yrs old. You could have shaken the dust of that file, before letting us open it. Now I have to go re-clean my computer, again. SF1
  18. Oh no, I wish you wouldn't use that one, I can only count to "four" so far. I'm only at " b4u". LOL SF1
  19. Hey Ltljon, I'm sending you a message, check your gc email box. SF1
  20. 1) Check out this place "The TB GraveYard" GC72A8 it’s got quite a few tb’s 1266 total. Now here is this (new) one, “Unknown Location” it isn’t known, how many have "dearly departed", to that location. 2) Hopefully, your not missing anything. 3) Snagging to move is OK. Snagging to Steal / Take is wrong. 4) I couldn’t tell you if it’s fun! It illegal to steal from another player, just like stealing from your neighbor. BTW: Welcome to GC and the "Forums". Just a side note, with the above reference "you've been MOPARed" !. No worry, it's like being Markwelled, just not as bad. SF1
  21. I don’t like micros, but I hunt them anyway. So, I prefer that a hunt takes me to a place of interest, State / County parks, historical places, neighborhood parks. Not just a lamp post / mail box / or guardrail. They are all the same, seen one-seen them all, even traditional. My idea of deciding where to put a cache is this: Why did I bring someone here. What’s unique about this place. What’s different about this hunt over other ones. SF1
  22. WGS 84 I searched GC in: Getting Started and the result was 4 pgs. In all forums the results was 10 pgs. Or try Google, I got this return. Search Results for WGS 84 Results 1 - 10 of about 22,600. Search took approx. 0.23 seconds. SF1
  23. Muddylips If you point us to a cache that says it, we might be able to help. Off Topic Now, if you were talking pizza I’d say NY ment the best, and Ga was with all the rest. Yes I’m a New Yorker, but a "western" NY’er. Home of Buffalo Chicken Wings, and capital of the Pizza diets. Those LI’ers are gonna get me. LOL Back On Topic The only thing I can relate NY style to, is that because of the snow we get up here, it would mean that it’s winter accessible (above your knees). But, eastern NY & LI don’t get snow. And NorthEastern NY gets so much it would be waist deep. So, I’m just guessing. SF1
  24. I’ve found many reasons that they move slow. 1) Poor or no goal tag. 2) Tb size is not convenient. 3) Awkward size, doesn’t fit into smaller size caches, not referring to micro’s. 4) Sometimes, bad drop locations. 5) Sometimes, it’s a bad cacher – self included sometimes. Certain times I’m limited in getting out. Other times it’s a few days back to back. 6) Sometimes it’s a TB hijacker, some places have problems. 7) And finally, it’s the goal (ex. heading west and I’m going east). One or more may also apply. Good Luck - that yours hasn’t disappeared. SF1
  25. I love simple pages and No music. Too much yuck, turns my eyes to muck. Nice job and good luck. SF1
