  1. I use Maptech USGS Topographic series(sold by state) for hunting. The maps don't load into my Magellan Sportrack Map. However, I'm able to load waypoint and tracks to and from my GPS to the computer and vise versa. It works pretty slick. I was able to walk trail(logging and deer), and save it in the unit. I than loaded the tracks into the topo software package , and it they gave me a better idea of my hunting area. They have a demo on their website.
  2. I saw this, and just checked a couple in Wisconsin. The highest point in WI is Timm's Hill/Ogema station(where I hunt), and Rib(#3) is one of the 3 highest points in the state(where I grew up). The question I have is the #1 highest in WI is listed in Columbia Co. at 3000ft, which is over 1000 feet over a couple of the highest points. How can this be? What am I missing? Thanks.
  3. Just came across this thread -- new to geocaching. Bought Sportrak Map for hunting in Oct. 2004 with D/C 2804. Found cracks coming from 5 of 6 screw holes. Love the unit used it for 2 weeks of hunting and a few geocaches. Despite using it for hunting, I tend to take extra care with electronic items.
