  1. I'm still a little confused on how to participate.
  2. The owners of all locationless caches, such as the originator of this thread, received an e-mail from Groundspeak on August 15, 2005, to notify them of the upcoming transition to Waymarking.com. Owners were alerted that their caches would be archived at the end of the year, and were offered the opportunity to convert their locationless caches into equivalent Waymarking categories. Owners who were not premium members were offered a free premium membership for a trial period, since at that time the beta version of Waymarking.com was only available to premium members. So, it is unfortunate that some locationless cache owners did not respond to this invitation by converting over to Waymarking prior to the stated deadline. Hopefully, once the process for establishing new Waymarking categories is up and running, some of these "lost" locationless cache categories can be re-established by new category management groups. I was not the owner of the LC cache that I mentioned in my original post at the time. I do hope that many of the old "lost" locationless caches can be up and running on Waymarking so that they'll continue to be enjoyed.
  3. Agreed. If any of the old grandfathered cache types were to come back, it should be the Earthcache. Besides, wasn't it up to the GSA to decide to move them to Waymarking? Perhaps we could persuade them to bring them back.
  4. Here's an idea - bring back just Earth Caches. Some webcam caches don't get too much traffic on either site, and virtuals are a whole other story.
  5. Ignoring them would be the best option.
  6. A local geocacher from my area has this in her signature - "Was Boo Radley the first geocacher?"
  7. It's all about where the cache is located, in my opinion.
  8. Go to a gun show. I've gotten them for as low as $1 a piece.
  9. Got mine in the mail today without any problems. Great coin!
  10. I'm 100% in favor of either a Waymarking icon or a Waymarking tab.
  11. Logging your own caches is pretty lame, imo. Same for logging a cache twice. I'm thinking of changing my only "second found log" to a note.
  12. Looks like the new icon just popped up.
  13. Got it in the mail today - nice job!
  14. Couldn't agree more. And yes, some coins IMO are REALLY stretching things. Coins about places where there are no caches, or caching in not allowed, etc. Looking back, I'm not sure how relevant the Canine Cachers Coin is now.... We are on the same page on this issue. I will say that the canine cachers coin does mean something to to me because they are my primary geocaching partners. Most of the non-relevant to caching coins are out there for one reason - $$$$$
  15. -Screw -New Mexico -North Carolina
  16. Mine had the activation codes inside the plastic pouch opposite the coin. Just a small sliver of paper with the coin number and activation. -D Whoops. Thought that was just the tracking #, got it, thanks!
  17. Where do ya get the activation code for this baby?
