Delete, Delete, do you need a repeat? Delete.
No signing the logbook = no find in my opinion.
-
Someone brought this thread to my attention. Like other WNY cachers above have mentioned, the term "hucklebuckle" has been around for ages before caching. It's definitely popular in the Western New York region to scream out hucklebuckle! after finding a cache, but if you did it in Ohio, Pennsylvania, other regions of the country, they would look at you like you were nuts.
-
I know a local geocacher who, when she dies, wants to have an "Ash Cache"
-
I'm looking forward to the merger as well. Hopefully this will get more people "in the know" about Waymarking.
-
Religious pamphlets and cards. Junk that should be put in the trash like half burnt candles. Oh, and the occasional McToy, too.
-
I think this is a good idea. There's been several caches around here published lately under the "Mystery/Puzzle" icon when there was nothing to solve or figure out, just additional logging requirements like you mentioned above. I'm all for this.
-
Can of worms topic......
MY personal take on this is that it is a cheesy practice and I wish they would alter the system to prevent it. If they don't have a GC number and haven't been reviewed - then it should not count. Otherwise I could go out and find anything thrown out in the woods and claim a smiley for it.
1 GC # should equal 1 and only 1 find. Not that way now but I think it should be.
Others will disagree......
I agree. I've seen so many people "pad" their numbers by logging pocket caches, "event" caches, etc and think that it's rather lame, but that's me. I know the original poster well and it's definitely not a widely accepted practice in his area that I'm aware of.
-
I usually pick lock-n-lock's up at either K-Mart, Wally World, or Target. My local grocery stores also carry them.
-
Hi All! I'm currently the adopted owner of a webcam cache from the Salt Lake area:
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...87-530d069564cf
I adopted it last March after seeing The Artful Dodger needed help with the HTML on the page, and he handed ownership over to me. The only problem is that I'm a cacher from New York! Not anywhere near Utah.. hehe. I'm looking for someone from the Salt Lake area or Utah in general to take over the webcam for me, and have a native look over this great old school webcam cache. Email me and I'll send you an adoption request. Happy Caching!
-
Ammocans are the best way to go for a regular sized caches, Matchstick containers for micro sized. Both keep the logbook and swag dry and are sturdy.
-
I just signed up for one as well. I'm liking the RED!.
-
Well, everybody in my area (WNY) knows my opinion on this subject. I personally think it is lame to log an event more than once because let's face it, you can't physically attend more than one event at a time. I do like the idea of adding an option to add a log for an event cache or something like that.. it would get rid of some of the excessive "attended" logs that a lot of people participate in.
-
312 people.
all ready taken
Oops.. okay, 313.
-
312 people.
-
Yup, I agree with what others have said... it's all about the container.
-
Yeah, we haven't that problem around here with the two events I've hosted, either. Then again, I live in a more suburban area with lots of cachers.. I could see rural events having less attendance but not to the point where no one came at all.
-
I usually log it, and then email the owner. The only exception is if the owner explicitally states to wait to log it.
-
Congrats on your 100th hide. They look like a cool bunch of caches. Hoping to reach that milestone myself in a few weeks. 23 to go!
