  1. Well heres my two cents. Being pretty new to the site. At first I guessed that the term muggles took the name from an association with being "mugged"......So you have to be careful or the cache can get mugged by the muggles who see you messing with it. Personally, I'm 31 years old and the Harry Potter books and movies are of no interest to me so I had no clue the word came from there. Obviously the folks who take offense to the term for that reason have some major issues with Harry Potter Obsesion or Anti-OBsesion.
  2. I'm a fly fishing nut! Which means I tie flies, collect bugs, and catch plenty of trout. I like d it so much that I made it my work......spending most of my time between Late March and the end of November guiding fly fishermen down the Hiwassee River in southeast TN (Mostly class II and III whitewater). Actually have a few possible cache locations in the river gorge that would cool, requiring a nice whitewater ride to reach. Anyway.... I'm an avid member of Trout Unlimited which is a coldwater conservation organization. Pretty much our role is to try and protect the coldwater fisheries in a grass roots type approach. I've served as the newsletter editor, board member, and currently president of our chapter. Also enjoy frisbee golf, golf, tennis, poker games, and now of course Geocaching!
  3. Hey guys! Thanks a lot for your ultra quick responses and friendliness. That's very cool. Odds are, I'll have that whole day off so I might just take you up on some quick caches down your way AB4N. I'm not that good on the micros but I can spot them when they're big as a truck......hehehe. Great link Gridlox! I've been to Dreamlands several times to do these presentations.....and man that is some good bbq.....Some of the best I've had. This time I wanted to get the coordinates since I have a GPSr to play with on this trip. This will be the first real road trip I've been on that will allow me to use the unit. Anyway, Thanks again! Rocky
  4. Hello folks, In February, I'll be traveling to Alpheretta GA to do a presentation on Fly Fishing here in Eas Tennessee. The show will be held at Dreamlands BBQ on Alpheretta Hwy off of hwy92. Does anybody in the local area to the resteraunt have some coordinates that will get me close to the bbq joint? Any help will be much appreciated. I'll be travelling down I-75 from the Knoxville area.
  5. Seems like I saw a link to this a while back but now I can't find it for the life of me. The link was to a site where ammo boxes and other geocashing and stashing supplies were sold. Now I can't find it so I'm asking you all......where do you buy your supplies at? BTW....the stuff offered on the site looks nice......why not offer the ammo boxes and containers there?
  6. Thanks for the replies and suggestions. To clear things up.... I'm looking for coordinates to places that really have nothing to do with a geocache or a virtual cache. Like....coordinates for landmarks, attractions, parks, wal-marts, yada yada yada. Mainly for the purpose of being able to type in the coordinates and go there. If I've violated TOS of the site.....I apologize.
  7. Hello, I've been browzing around the net hunting sites that list waypoints to cool places or special locations (boat ramps, camping areas, etc). SO far I've not found many that are actually functional for the GPS aspect of finding them. Do any of you know any sites similar to what I'm looking for? Do you mind sharing? Thanks, Rocky
  8. OK.... Sorry guys. Perhaps the webpage where I found this info should label them "by standers", at least that might stop you from calling people stupid. Yes....I suppose it's so that you could call me ignorant to the fact....but I'm far from stupid.
  9. Thanks for the response. Well I guess I spotted my first muggles today as I took my mother out with me as I hunted my first cahce site. We had so much fun we had to find another. I can see why everyone enjoy's this so much.....we had a blast!
  10. .....muggles are other people in the area that could spot you? I think this is correct but I sometimes think wrong.....LOL.
