  1. I became a premo member to help fund site improvements, fix the map, bigger server, faster server, etc.....
  2. quote: Today I placed the MOAF (Mother of all Floss) cache. I just came from that cache, my wife was looking for the log book and was cut by a sharp edge on the alarm clock, but we used the floss to stop the bleeding, but then her arm fell off. In other news my straight jacket arrived today, but the taylors said I had to accompany them to the shop for alterations. I said I had to cache and I would drop by tomorrow.
  3. quote:any cache is a good cache. Some caches are more spectaular than others, but, for me, the thrill is the hunt not so much the prey.
  4. In the past I logged them all regardless, and then deleted the not found log when/if I found it later, but recently I give myself 5 days to return and then log it as a not found. The main reason I log not founds is to notify the cacher who placed the cache that there may be a problem. If I think that the problem is just my lack of time because I am trying to cache on my lunch hour, or got to the park just before curfew, I see these as a waste of server space.
  5. Yes I think that the person who found the note should log the cache, but the cache should be archived. The person/persons who have placed the cache know what has happened and the cached should have been pulled. I think it is much like a plundered cache, and I choose to give the benifit of the doubt on the authentisity of the note. I might even be generouse and let anyone who found it THAT day log it, but the caches need to be archived.
  6. I am at 200 and looking forward to my 2000th. Great job. Keep on cachin'...if there are any you haven't got.
  7. I sometimes cache in a group, sometimes I cache alone, but I always log finds. Now if the group is large I will not log not founds because it could kill a cache, but if there are only two of us, I will log a not found so that my friends who are watching the cache or who come after me and do find the cache can taunt me. Geocaching is a great game/sport, some people are bringing too much baggage along, and are trying to control not only the game but the other players.
  8. Tireiron, I must reiterate what our collieges have said, "you get it" in fact you get it in spades. Some of the best caches are virtuals. I really like the vituals based in histrory, particularly, obscure history. Unfortunately, the nay-sayers have the ear of the powers that be, the last several virtuals I tried to post, were denied simply because they are virtuals.
  9. I am from Tulsa but have not gotten all of the caches in the Grand Lake area, if that will help.
  10. For my next trick I need complete silence... It's a..........BOY! Ming! I wish I'd had this at the Antiques Road Show last week!
  11. ...you are hoping for a hard drive failure so that you have more magnets to epoxy on the back of an altoids tin.
  12. I see a definite advantage to "tagless" bugs, but I have only one concern, inexpensive bugs will make the bug too common. Right now bugs are rare and elusive, and a great magnet for new or remote caches. I really like the in hand factor, and an oppertunity to make my own tags. I will be supportive no matter which way the decison goes. Keep on Cachin'
  13. ...you know where all of the state parks are for a three mile radius... and have found caches in most of them. ...the words you long to hear from your significant other are: "There's a new cache". ...if you take a vacation day everyone at work assumes you are caching... and they are right.
  14. ...your lan admin at work has tracked you down and asks you to remove the .loc files you placed on the email server, then asks to go along once you discibe how you use your files. ...people you do not know at work have heard you collect Alltoid tins.
