No, I do not have a license yet. However, I have already contacted Geocaching HQ and presented my idea. To Geocaching.com: I know very well that there is already a website. However, most of them simply write "Found" or "found quickly" - that should be familiar to everyone. The later website should contain additional functions, which are just NOT available on the Geocaching website. Otherwise the idea would not be logical.

Hello all, many of you have probably found a 0815 cache - a can with a wet logbook hidden on the road under a stone ... or something like that. And let's be honest - each of us would rather find a great, creative and popular geocache, where the owner has thought and invested a lot of time. Unfortunately, only a few of the cache owners do this. So here comes my idea on how to do it better. My idea is a website where you enter the GC code and get a short view of the cache. Other geocachers can share their experience there and rate the cache. - how is the environment - is the hiding place creatively built - what do you need - are there many muggles on site Once you have a brief impression, you can pack up your gear or think beforehand if you want to search for this boring/exciting cache. So you can share your experience or rely on the experience of other fellow cachers and thus help geocachers with less experience and the owner to improve his cache. Now this sounds very nice in practice. However, I need your help so that together we can make this happen for the entire GC community. We need: - Web-Developer for the website (Frontend/Backend) - Sponsors (for the domain) - experienced geocachers (for evaluation criteria) If these skills appeal to you or you would like to join us, please contact me privately and we will create a new era of geocaching together. @hallli To answer your question definitively, you can't apply. Personally, I think that's a shame (I actually wanted to apply, too), but that's just the way it's required. Actually, you can only wait and hope that you will be asked. However, this is very unlikely, since many people are interested in it and you have to know it very well. Your Rhoeny Um deine Frage endgültig zu beantworten: Du kannst dich nicht bewerben. Ich persönlich finde das sehr schade (ich wollte mich eigentlich auch bewerben), aber das ist eben so vorgeschrieben. Eigentlich kannst du nur warten und hoffen, dass du gefragt wirst. Das ist allerdings sehr unwahrscheinlich, da sich viele dafür interessieren und du dich sehr gut auskennen musst. Euer Rhoeny

@eigengott Werbung gibt es zum Glück keine. Ein Login kann erfolgen, ist aber für mein geplantes Projekt nicht nötig (es gibt Cloud-Variablen, für die man einen "Scratcher-Status" benötigt und angemeldet sein muss). Das mit dem Absprechen ist eine gute Idee, dazu habe ich auch ein schöne Geschichte. Ich wollte einen Earthcache veröffentlichen und habe bereits alles vorbereitet. Dann kam die Nachricht, dass mein Cache gar kein Earthcache ist Na ja, blöd gelaufen für mich

@RamPhe254 Hallo Philippe, Das mit dem Bewerben ist zwar schön, aber meiner Erfahrung nach wirst du damit nichts erreichen. Ich habe mich auch als Reviewer vor ein paar Monaten beworben. Ich habe meinen Lebenslauf geschickt und ausdrücklich betont, dass ich die Mission von Geocaching gerne unterstützten möchte und ich mich mit Geocaching gut auskennen. Als Antwort kam dann folgendes (wörtlich): Also mal auf Deutsch: Sie melden sich, wenn Bedarf da ist. Wann das ist oder wen sie gehen? ... keine Ahnung. Ich finde es jedenfalls schade, dass es keine direkte Anfrage für Reviewer gibt. Es gibt so viele engagierte Geocacher, die mit Liebe und Mühe dabei sind und gerne helfen möchten. Dann, wenn du es am wenigsten erwartest, wirst du vielleicht gefragt! Ich würde mich immer noch über einen Posten als Reviewer freuen (das war jetzt so ein Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl ). Was ich sagen möchte, du wirst bestimmt nicht gleich eine Zusage erhalten. Aber glaube immer daran und gebe nicht auf. Das ist alles, was ich dazu sagen kann. LG Rhoeny

Hallo Geocacher*innen im Forum, Ich möchte gerne eine interaktive Aufgabe zum Lösen eines Mystery ins Listing einbinden. Dafür habe ich Scratch gewählt. Ich möchte das Projekt mit einem Link als Frame in den Quelltext des Listing einbinden. Ist diese Überlegung erlaubt oder spricht etwas bezüglich der Richtlinien nicht erlaubt. Ich möchte damit auch keine Werbung oder etwas in der Art machen. Es geht mir lediglich um die interaktive Übung, die ich nicht einfach ins Listing als Text einbinden kann. So würde ein Link zum einbetten aussehen: <iframe src="https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/659090756/embed" allowtransparency="true" width="485" height="402" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen></iframe> Das Beispiel-Projekt findet ihr hier (Scratch ist eine Plattform zum Programmieren und garantiert sicher und ohne Viren). But if someone knows that it is a link from Geocaching that was not displayed correctly, he will certainly select the whole link and open it. I have not had this problem as a basic user.

Good that it solved itself. Sometimes you just have to restart the app or the phone. Alternatively, you could have used the website. It takes longer, but it is also reliable with all functions.

Thanks first of all for all the posts. The idea with the holes in the container is a good idea, then the collected water can also flow off. About borrowing the log: the difficult task is to pull up the container with the rope and the hook (both I hide on site) and then let it down again. The bridge I about 3 meters high (can estimate badly) and of course I can not prevent anyone to climb down. However, this is not very inconspicuous and nettle there is also on the ground. The bridge is the simplest solution! I destroy when hiding the cans after all no stones, it's just about the hole. And because of the idea with the funnel: Good idea, I will probably also implement. But I have already tried fishing with folding rule and rope, it is easier than you think if you concentrate. So thanks for all the contributions. Thank you for the detailed description. The container is waterproof (I have also tested) and a fishing rod or rope with hook (available) is needed. I do not want to destroy any rocks / stones, but only clamp the container (the outer) between a few stones. Then I will plan my cache and submit it for review. Thanks

If you want to find a user, i.e. see his profile, you can press (if he has hidden a cache) on his usernames. Or if you write a message with him on his profile picture. But is true, the app is not as good as the website.

I'm not a premium user, but are you talking about the geocaching app or geocaching .com? Some features are not or no longer available in the app, but only on the internet on the geocaching website.

You could use the classic "I lost something" trick or "tie your shoelaces." Otherwise, I also use the excuse "I want to get some fresh air" or "I'm going for a bike ride." Otherwise, you could still say (if you're climbing a hill and looking for something next to a tree, for example) "I'm still so small and can't see anything from down here. Bonjour Je ne peux malheureusement pas t'aider avec ta "question précise". Je peux seulement te répondre avec les statistiques actuelles, il y a plus de 3 millions de géocaches cachées (selon mes informations actuelles). Si tu as besoin de plus de précisions, le mieux est de contacter le Geocaching HQ, ils doivent être les mieux informés. J'espère que quelqu'un d'autre pourra t'aider. LG Rhoeny

Hello Geocacher, I would like to hide my first fishing cache. It is next to a bridge in the forest and can be recovered with a fishing rod / hook and rope. For this I wanted to deposit the outer container (white) between stones and the actual container with the logbook (black) in the outer container. The black can can then be brought up and put back into the outer container without any problems. You only need fingertips feeling ;-) ! In the guideline I found the following paragraph: "Do not bury Do not bury caches, neither partially nor completely. You may not dig a hole in the ground, (...) The only exception is if the landowner gives his explicit permission, (...)" Since I do not bury my cache, but only clamp it between stones, I do not bury it and do not make a hole in the ground.
