  1. I am one of the 200 people apparently, not only that I was using it on 2 computers so I guess I count 2 people and found this thread after trying to reinstall the KML after installing windows 7 RC. I showed one of my friends the other day how far Geocaching had come in the last few years, one example I showed him was the Google Earth integration. Now this is gone.
  2. Has anybody picked up the Geocaching Reference in Half Life 2: Episode 2? Spoilers: You have to drive around with a vehicle mounted GPS like display which shows the location of "beacons" from health and ammo caches which are hidden in the environment. When you find one of them Alyx actually says "We would have never known about this place if it wasn't for the beacon!" I know that I have said this countless times except replace beacon with cache. If you check the caches in the game you get a "Cache Checker Achievement". Valve Software, TFTC!!
  3. Check this out! http://earth.google.com/ Its like google maps but you can do alot more. The big difference is the pay version allows you to download GPS tracks and waypoints to overlay on the map.
  4. Myself I am a strong supporter of Energizer E2 Lithium batteries. I use these batteries in both my digital camera (takes 4) and my Etrex Vista C (takes 2). I have found that they last much longer than normal batteries in my camera. When the camera has completely drained them and can not even start up I can take the batteries and use them in my GPS for hours still. The E2 supposedly have a storeage and operating temperature of -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to +140°F) this is much larger than normal batteries. Another bonus is they weigh 1/3 less than normal batteries. They are also rated at 3000 MilliAmpHour capacity. The other thing I noticed is the best before date on the batteries I bought today was 2019 which seems a bit far fetched. I also found this neat PDF full of data from energizer from a site selling the batteries. Energizer E2 Lithium Battery Data [Energizer.com] The bad side is the price, $19.99 for 4 or $9.99 for 2 here in Canada but I think I end up saving money in the end. Which batteries do other Geocachers (or photographers) use?
  5. Are you 100% sure that the ammo is live and not a dummy round?
