  1. Just as a note they will show up under geocaches once you are in the area.
  2. We bought a eTrax Legend HCx it holds 1000 waypoints and I am slowly entering them one at a time. My question is how do I drop a bunch at a time into the unit. Honestly the area I am trying to get in is Edmonton (as the kids have almost cleared our area of Leduc) and doing it one at a time seems redundant as I am positive that I am redoing half of the ones that are already in there every time I sit to do adds. I tried to check to boxes on the right and download all waypoints from one page but once I do that and it saves to my computer there is nothing to open that file? Please anyone who can give me dummy directions that wold be awesome!
  3. This happened to me when I became a premium member. I have my computer ticked to stay logged in, I actually had to log out and re-log in and have had no problems since. Possible that may help and it is easy to try.
  4. I am fairly new to caching (only 37 found) and really don't think TB logging is rocket science. It was a week or two after starting that I had time to look at the forums and it wasn't that hard to figure out. Seeming info on them is all over the home page I find it kinda smacks you in the face so really there should be no excuses. I also think that if your planning on taking a break your last "chore" should be to go drop all TB's in our possession and log them. Even if you just drop them all in the closest cache that will accommodate them. JMO
  5. This is an awesome idea and if there are any left out there we would gladly adopt one. My 7 year old son has been on me to buy one for him but haven't found anywhere local to do that. I have heard there are some stores in Calgary that sell them and we will look next time we are down there. But he would think this was a awesome way to start. TIA
  6. As of last thursday it was still tagged as this but when we went thru the tills it came in a $200 even. Boy was that a nice surprise as the system only is still marked at $249, lol.
  7. My son(8years) came across one of these in his 3rd cache and now has decided he wants to collect them. So now the family has a new hobby and he is trying to collect these tags. I don't know how popular they are here in Canada but we now have 3 or 4 found in 26 caches. Not to bad but looking at the website for them he will have a lot of hunting a head of him, lol.
  8. I know I am new and could be wrong, but by looking at that photo it doesn't look like a geocoin. From what I can see in that photo it looks like a pathtag?? Again I could be wrong and someone else may chime in.
  9. Is this the one you are thinking about, it is only with Garmin devices? http://www.geocaching.com/garmin/freetrial.aspx
  10. We are new to caching, 3 weeks old. We are from Leduc Alberta, it is a full family event for us. We would love to hear about group events in our area.
  11. I know I am new and please don't fry me for saying this .... it is JMO from everything I have read on the forum and main site. It seems to me that is why there is a maintenance option. We haven't placed any caches yet but when we do I may not be able to get out and check on them all regularly. But I am one that checks my email regularly so if I were to get a maintenance check or notice by find comments that log may be getting full etc. then that would be my que to get my butt out to that one and do some maintenance. Correct me if this is a bad practice and that way I would know before ever placing any.
  12. I am also new to this, about 3 weeks now. The first 2 weeks we did it using google maps and just got a GPS last week. We are also in Leduc so if you would like to try an learn together or even just meet up let me know. We usually bike for the around town ones and it is myself and my 2 kids (8 and 2) with the odd stray friend joining us sometimes. Just PM if interested.
