The activation code is sent with the coin and the coin can be tracked at Geocaching.com. Erik
-
It has been my intention (and practice with a few exceptions ) to send them attached to the packing slip. I now see that some people did not receive them and for that I apologize. In the rush to mail them out, I neglected to do what I intended. To the few who did not receive activation codes, please send me an e-mail and I will send them to you. I now see why others host their activation codes online and perhaps I will look into doing that on future coins (these were my first two) Erik (Toponym)

I'm sorry. I should have attached them to the packing slip. I will e-mail them to you. Erik (Toponym)

Where can this be purchased? -
I'll take one. And personally, I'll think those will easily sell.
-
I'll take one as it is and if you change it I'll probably take one of those as well.
-
Very nice. I'll take one.

The John Harrison and Leprechaun Geocoins are now available at http://www.smalltreasures4sale.com/html/geocoins.html Thanks, Erik (Toponym)

There is already a geo-coin with a beer mug on one side Yes, but does it have pizza on the reverse?
-
Now that would be a coin. I geocache. I eat Pizza after I Geocache. I eat Pizza at the Geocoin Events in the Bay Area! mmmmm I think I will do one! . GeoPizzaCoin You'll need something good for the reverse. Hmm, let's see, what goes good with Pizza? Beer! You could have 300 LE with a beer mug on one side for the adults and another LE for the kids with root beer on the reverse! If you don't do it, I just might.

Nice coin. I'll take one. Toponym

A pizza and peanut butter coin? Two please. A pizza coin might turn out nice especially if you get a combo - all those colors. But I don't think peanut butter would work. Toponym

Publishing 3 coins at once just goes to um, illustrate perfectly just how commercialized some Geocoins are becoming. Loose association with caching is not made by simply including the word 'cache' in coin verbage. By publishing these almost simultaneously, it looks to be nothing more than a commercial venture to exploit caching solely for monetary gain. Rather than contributing something worthwhile to the Geocaching (coin) community, you're just throwing some metal on the table and hoping it gets scooped up because we don't know any better. Also, no offense, but 2 of the coins look like my daughter puked Skittles. Lest anyone think I am ignoring them or have no opinion on the matter, I will reply to all of the recent posts once and then let everyone else have the last word. Geocoins are becoming commercialized - Once Groundspeak became a corporation, all of geocaching became commercialized with licensing fees, trademarked logos and stickers, pencils, compasses, t-shirts, etc. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just the way it is. I don't believe my coins are "loosely" associated with geocaching. Obviously others disagree. Some of my coins I will make just for fun, such as the Leprechaun coin. Others came about because I incorporate teaching my children about map reading, geography and navigation as well as nature/science when we are out and about. The John Harrison Coin is significant because it reminds us that at one time, people actually had to use some thinking to determine their location. Navigation was serious business before it became a game. In regard to the Feng Shui Coin another member said, "it's more closely related to Geocaching than you might think" (or something similar). I am not a practitioner of Feng Shui however, in researching compasses and navigation I learned about other uses for compasses and thought others might also find it interesting. I also discovered that Muslims utilize a special compass for prayers (Google Islamic Compass). I briefly considered turning that into a coin as well but reconsidered for fear of offending extremist fanatics. I now know that I might have done exactly that. Toponym

Finally, here is the third coin I currently have in production. The Feng Shui Compass Geocoin As with the other two, I will make this available first to those on my e-mail list. If you would like to be added please send me an e-mail smalltreasures4sale@cox.net Erik (Toponym)

If I purchase a geocoin then I'm keeping it. If I find one in a cache then I will honor the intent and treat it as a TB. Toponym

Has anyone used Coinforce.com or USCoinforce.com ?

What is meant by a personal icon from Groundspeak on a geocoin? Is it the 4 color square reshaped? Toponym
-
How do I pre-order one of these? It seems that every time a new coin is minted, I get an e-mail to buy one. However, when I follow the link I discover they are already sold out - but not really. Someone has bought them up and is selling them on e-Bay! Toponym

The New Waymarking Changes
toponym replied to bootron's topic in Getting Started with Waymarking (Read-Only)
Why do some Waymarking categories require addresses such as the unusual buildings category? Isn't the purpose of geocaching and Waymarking to find things (locations) with your GPS-r? Toponym -
Are avatar images available at Groundspeak or Geocaching.com or do I need to obtain and upload my own graphic? Toponym
