  1. Yep, there are two icons. I had to activate each side on it's own.
  2. Yes, it is his reviewer/player coin. I'd also be willing to wager that the volunteers get some sort of break on tracking numbers. There has to be some benefit to putting up with all the garbage!
  3. I nominate Hula Bum. Gotta love coconuts!
  4. That's exactly my take on it. Last time I checked, the RoadRunner icon wasn't up. The first day I looked, the Moose icon was winking at me...now, it's just staring.
  5. Let me clarify something...since I have received emails on this. This is not my coin. (Well, the one in the picture actually is...but I didn't make this coin!) It was a gift to me.
  6. It was my understanding that you had to accompany them on a Deathmarch...but I didn't think you had to live there...just go along. Now, after re-reading the thread, I see why it was a sock puppet account that dropped the coin this week. Placing this coin in a 1.5 star terrain cache may get the cacher lynched by folks that actually did a death march! Of course, I wouldn't know...since if I went on one...I would be dead now.
  7. I posted a picture of this coin in the "What was in your mailbox" thread...but since I thought the idea of dual tracking numbers was pretty cool, I figured I would start a new thread so everyone could see it...
  8. Not a surprise that one is coming soon (reference Moose Mob post), so my money is on the new Moose Mob personal showing up That would be the one! When I got the original email saying he was going to be sending me one he said it was a secret. I just got an email from him saying it was ok to talk about the coin. It's pretty cool, so I'll take a picture and post it here later. C4 Here is the photo of the coin.

  10. For snorkeling, one of our favorite spots is Hanolua Bay. From where you will be, head up the road past Lahaina, and continue up and around. After you pass Napili and Kapalua, the road will narrow and wind around. You will see signs, and cars parked all over. You have to walk a bit to get to the bay, but it's through some beautiful trees and undergrowth. There used to be "Sunglass" cache there, but I'm not sure if it is still active. Two trips ago, we had sea turtles come up and swim along side us, and last trip, dolphins swam into the bay and put on quite a show! When you are through there, continue on the road to the blow hole. It's pretty cool to see. Eddie's Nakalele Blowhole cache was there last time we visited. You need to check whether or not it is still there. One word of caution...leave anything you don't need in your room, and take everything with you when you leave your car at both spots. Locals have been known to hit tourists cars...especially at the blowhole. My advice for the road to Hana is to take your time. If you are going to circle the island...(Which the rental car companies make you agree not to,) then it is a full day trip. Another option, which you won't hear about is this...take your time on the road and enjoy the sights. Continue past Hana, there are some great pools for swimming, a black sand beach, and just beautiful scenery. Grab dinner in Hana, and wait until after dark to head back. It's actually easier to drive the road at night since you can see headlights of oncoming cars around the narrow curves. (At least that's what I found.) Also, if mosquitos like you, make sure to use lot's fo repellant! There are tons of skeeters all through the rainforest and around the pools and falls! Aloha!
  11. This statement should put to rest those annoying rumours that I am the noodly one! I have been asked more than once, and since I was in the middle of the fracas on this thread, and FSM wasn't up on things...then we are obviously not one and the same. Or else this is an elaborate form of subterfuge! Back OT- Say what you'll mint, and mint what you say. (My new tag line.)
  12. Wow! It's been a long time since I've been able to post here! Today, I got a surprise coin as a gift! It's a great looking coin, but I'm not sure if it's a secret, so I don't want to post a picture yet. However, what is really cool is this coin has a different tracking number on the front and back. Two custom icons for one coin! Way cool!
  13. Thanks everyone! The last 5 have been spoken for. Once I receive all the payments, I'll ask that this thread be closed.
  14. Yep, there had been no change...so that leaves 5... Invoice sent.
  15. Wow, I guess I'm not sure if there is some personal history between you two, but if there is, I would appreciate it if comments like this were kept in private email and not in the open forums. Maybe I'm just tired, but I thought this response was over the top.
  16. Yes, that is my fault! We got overrun with spam attacks on the forums. I was trying to get everything reset before the new coin was released...and then I put the coin on the back burner. Well, the coin has been released, and I'll start working on the website this weekend so we have a place to meet. Dave
  17. C'mon Andrea...you've been here long enough to have a good idea of who most...if not all...of them are! Ahhhh man.....its me right? Sheesh I knew I was getting the cold shoulder from you! See, you just can't keep a secret around here!
  18. Ahh, those that have met me tend to say I am much more sarcastic in person than I am in my writing... (Well, that's what my wife always says anyway.) Nothing was said as far as I'm concerned that would put me off from your designs. I just keyed on something you said and offered my perspective.

  20. CB (I am assuming Paula since the post had a pleasant demeanor! ) I snipped your quote for ease of scrolling through the page...but I did read it all. Thanks for the clarification, it helped to understand the ruffled feathers. I agree with the majority of the post...enough so, that there is no point in hashing anything over. One point I would like to help out with is this...personality and opinions play a big part in this community of ours. I get along with 99% of the folks here...new and old. I have had disagreements with several here, but for the most part, we work through things, and remain friends. However, there have been isolated cases where disagreements arise, and the relative anonymity of this environment allows things to be said, and situations to escalate...sometimes beyond repair. (One fairly infamous one occured in full view of these forums and resulted in a spectacular geocide.) In those intstances, I have sworn off any of their coins and designs. When I look through my collection, I don't want to be reminded of a bad experience. So, in a nutshell, personal opinions can affect the collectibility of coins. Dave
  21. Somewhere along the line, they took center stage and handed us the microphone! Sorry, couldn't resisit! Back on topic! Don't remint unless you clearly stated up front that it was a possibility.
  22. As of this post, I only have 10 left. Thanks to everyone that has purchased! Dennis, are you looking for one? Email me, I have to go to the car and check my pack. I carry some in there to drop in caches. D
  23. I've received all of the above emails, and those interested in purchasing are covered. Deafhunt...I have them evenly sorted by fives, and I don't know if I have anything extra or not. One of the purchasers in in Alaska, so you may yet see some up there. D
  24. Maybe not in the grand scheme of things, but for me personally it does. I've got coins that I want nothing to do with because of the people that were behind them. Now, before you get all riled up, let me state a couple of things... 1. I couldn't tell you what coins you have designed, and whether or not I have any. 2. I'm not avoiding your coins because of anything you have said or done, I'm just commenting that personality can and does come into play. 3. I didn't realize that this thread may have been started, at least in part, due to a situation with a coin you had minted. That explains both of your sensitivity a bit. However, you should keep in mind that there may be others besides myself that aren't aware of that fact. If you aren't "in the know" then your posts kind of paint you in a bad light in my opinion. Just food for thought...
  25. This point is really my only beef with this whole topic... If I knew reminting was an option, I either wouldn't buy it, or may adjust the quatity. If I buy a coin, and it is reminted later...well, that just takes my choice in the matter away. That is what bothers me.
