  1. Send an email to landsharkz ... they did a coin with an Enterprise on it (you can see one that my nephew and I have been dipping here). Maybe they can give you some tips.
  2. As I look through some of the other threads, it would seem that if you change things just enough (nine points) it can resemble what you want it to, but still be different enough to pursue. I don't think you can copyright a phrase ("Space, the final frontier") but you can rearrnage the orientation of the stars and slightly change the sidebar leaf clusters. Of course we still don't know what your other side looks like.
  3. If you get approval for a go-ahead on this, you can count me in to buy a few. Please email me if you're looking for pre-sales! Dan (stickerooni) love it for sure! may i ask something? why spend the extra dough to make it trackable since most collectors don't release or even activate their coins anyway! it would save money and you could still have them numbered sequentially. of course, that would probably be breaking some rule or another here, but it is a thought. rsg That's an interesting point made by Red Shoes Girl, though I will say that I do tend to release my coins and probably wouldn't be as interested in a coin for coin's sake.

  5. Ohhh...I feel your discouragement! Some areas tend to have coins go missing much more than others. Sounds like there's a coin 'thief' in that area. I've released about 80 coins and have had about 10 go missing now. Most have travelled a little, some a lot before finding their way into someone's pocket. Take joy in finding/moving coins. If you've got some very special coins that you just don't want to lose, then try what some have suggested and just hang on to them and bring them to events for others to discover (I've done that with some), use some to travel with you from cache to cache and 'dip' them (I've done this as well). Also consider posting a note to the cache that coins have been stolen from the cache so as to discourage others from leaving coins which may get stolen.
  6. Some people won't move them, and that's fine -- they just don't get moved. I would agree that making sure that you list it as a PROXY is the kind thing to do so that those who are looking for the actual coin don't waste their time for something that isn't a coin. And let's face it, plenty of us will revisit a cache we've been to before just for a coin (I've been to a terrain level 5 cache [mountain climbing] three times just to see particular travelers!), and it would be disapointing to have it be a laminate coy. On the other hand, I've also been to a cache to see a coin only to find that it's already been moved, but not logged as such. C'est la vie! It's your coin, do with it what you will. You'll never make everybody happy, so make yourself happy!
  7. Thanks, MissJenn! I guess that's what I figured I'd have to do. I did search the site for info on it. Thanks for the link. Some of these answers are there, but very hard to find and search for. Going to the forums is usually a last resort for me. I appreciate your searching eye! Happy caching!
  8. I believe that the montly payment is set up only as an auto renewal. The yearly can be set up two ways ... as an auto renewal, or as a manual renewal. I guess I was thinking it would be easy... uncheck the monthly box, check the yearly box and on my next payment due date it would take out the yearly fee. But it doesn't seem to be so...
  9. I am currently enrolled as a Premium Member by paying the $3/month. I wish to change this to the yearly plan, how can I do this simply and easily? Do I need to cancel my monthly plan and then re-enroll on the yearly plan? Which means I need to do so on the date that my monthly plan expires so that I can save myself the over-lap? Is there no "change plan" format? Thanks.
  10. And now you have FOSTIEEE on there twice ... #23 and #41. I can't imagine the patience you must have...!
  11. You're the best, UOTrackers! Thanks for all the hard, fantastic work! My boys will be thrilled to be on the coin!
  12. I'm very sad that the coin that I sent out was taken to the mega event in St. Louis and there it sits, still! I had it tucked into a large piece of form board specifically so that it wouldn't get lost. If any of you attended that event (or any event) ... please make sure to log the coins and bugs you pick up!
  13. Howdy neighbor cacher! You got your first geocoin in the mail and you've gone to the forums to share it with all of us. ...consider yourself hooked! stickerooni
  14. I've trekked through some pretty unfavorable terrain and weather to get a glimpse of a special coin as well ... only to discover that it's already been nabbed by another cacher and not logged yet. It's disappointing, frustrating even, but I don't blame the other cacher for getting there first. I don't like proxies either, but as someone who has essentially seen about $100 of coins get stolen, I understand why people do it. I haven't done it, and I hope I won't get to that point ... I'm more likely to just save my money and stop buying and releasing coins altogether. I would personally rather see Groundspeak take the little coin icons off of the cache pages. Let a coin be a surprise. By advertising that a coin is there, the coin thieves are more easily enticed. Yes, there are people such as yourself and myself who will visit a cache just because of a coin, but really I'd be just as content to be surprised by a coin find. It would be more in the tradition of discovering treasure. Those who send out proxies should have the curtesy of listing it as such, but ultimately it is their decision
  15. You're looking for Frozen Buns? Come to Minnesota...you'll find lots of Frozen Buns!
  16. Very "WOW" indeed. It reminds me of this coin of mine. I'll be looking for the 'how to purchase' on this.
  17. I'd be interested. I suspect that there are a number of us who have ideas but no money or lack of time to invest on speculation. I'd want to know costs before committing to how many I'd buy as a club membership.
  18. Congrats to the winners and R/Gbots for the cointest!
  19. Where did you get the coin? Is it possible it was a coin that they saw somewhere before you owned it? Even so, to continue logging it as a discovery after being asked not to is just totally wrong.
  20. 1. What is your name (caching name is fine), location, age, and occupation. Daniel (stickerooni), Rushford, MN - 47 - freelance writer and production manager for a theatre festival. 2. What was the first geocoin you ever held in your hand? I'm not sure, but the first I owned was DresselDragons. 3. Approximately how many coins to you currently own? 200+ ? 4. Approximately how many coins have you released into caches? And how many are still active? 67 have been activated/released (if I haven't released the activated ones, its only a matter of time). 5 are confirmed missing/stolen. 4 additional coins likely to be missing/stolen. 5. Have you ever minted a coin? If so - how many? If not - skip to question 6 No. 6. What is your favorite color? I just like shiny things, but if pressed, I'd say purple. 7. What is your favorite food?
