  1. Same problem here. Was using a Magellan Exp 200 and it was always dead on. Now with the Vista cx I am always 50-70 ft away. If I use both I go crazy. Using a Mac/MacGPS Pro so can't change the firmware.
  2. 2 & 2 arrived today, another April 3 postmark. I feel uneasy... Got my Wyoming coins, Macintosh runs Windows, What could be next, armegeddon? These be signs of the apocalypse I say
  3. Just got the same setup myself: Vista Cx and MacGPS Pro. Still trying to figure out the maps and such. the Vista's maps are pretty bad. But after punching in hundreds of coords manually I just love the downloadablility. that alone makes it all worth while. Haven't figured out if you can enter clues and such but i don't think so. Still working on the whole Garmin interface, used a Maggie for a year.
  4. Thanks for the fix Mike! We had some frettin folks around here.
  5. In a perfect world yes. But in the real world they suddenly disappear after one or two logs. Folks should just stop making them. It would make everyone's life much easier.
  6. I was pensive at first as well. Then I went ahead and hid my first cache. I continued caching, and learned what I liked and didn't like about certain caches. I figured out that most people don't like to walk a mile in the woods for a micro. So I changed one of those I had and made it a multi. It had a cool first stage and an ammo full of goodies. The logs indidcate everyone likes it. You cache and you learn. Some people will never be happy. Forget them. 98% will appreciate most any cache you put out. If someone does comment about your cache, you can either learn from it or ignore it. Logs are also like email, the emotion or true thought behind what someone writes does not come across accurately. Your first hide may suck. Your next one will be better. I believe they call it "experience". And there is only one way to get it.
  7. Thanks. It was a bit confusing to me since the descriptions of some of the other coins up for sale soon specifically mention VIP sales, but yours doesn't say anything. Just double checked on the VIP sales. VIP will be offered on the 2nd and 3rd round of sales. 1st round is password for members. Follow the link in OP to get yours. Thanks.
  8. I believe we set it up with VIP. Glad some like the Maggie. The shape of mine really fit with the corn. Much better than a Garmin.
  9. Thats it. Thanks! I sometimes lose track of whats coming from where.
  10. Were we supposed to get activation numbers with the Stone Mountain coins?
  11. IMO Travel bugs generally keep moving unless they are attached to something cool or put in a cache that gets muggled. Coins however are another story. They are pretty cool just in themselves and I don't think some people can resist the pretty shiny things (my precious). I will no longer put any out. If I find one in a cache I will surely pass it along but the ones I buy stay with me.
  12. Spring for the Premium membership. It allows you to scroll the maps and run queries if you have a GPS that handles them.
  13. Got mine! Thanks for all your work on this.
  14. From the Omaha airport there are 8 caches that are pretty close, quick and easy if you are pressed for time. GCP9R1,GCKFC8, GCQADQ, GCQ7CV, GCGF1H, GCCA9B, GCQADY, GCR4NN All but one (GCQADY) are park and grabs. Even that one is a quick one. One is also in Iowa. (strange border issues) These could easily be done in an hour or two. Not sure about the bus ride. I don't know how they run. If you are inclined to grab a meal or tasty beverage, I would say grab a cab to Rick's Boatyard Cafe, the food's good and it's relatively close to airport and there are 3 micros and a virt within 10 minute walk two different ways from the restaurant. If you don't want to grab a cab you could run across the street from the airport to GCQ7CV. It would be a little walk but not much. Then down from it is GCKFC8. These are your best bets on foot. You can contact me through here if you have any questions. I'd be glad to help you out.
  15. I have to agree also. The geocoin phenomenon has gotten huge and I will no longer release any myself. There is just no chance that it will travel any farther than the next cacher's pocket/collection. This gives those of us who have recently taken up geocoins a chance to log some past ones and share the ones we have. Don't do it if it bugs you.
  16. There is a micro hidden in an old non-mortared rock wall near us. I'm embarrassed to say how much time we have spent on this one. The last time we went out I noticed a lot of the wall is getting torn apart from seekers. The coords are purposefully off with a hint stating "the cache is 30 feet from the coords" Blah! I normally like micros but this one is destructive to the area it is in. On the Ignore list it goes!
  17. We'd like on the list for 2 coins.
  18. I had wanted 2 of each (posted 9-6) but didn't make the list. If you have a waiting list I'd like to be put on.
