Newb here as well. Just started 2 weeks ago after getting our GPS. I took my youngest son out on our first seek and he really enjoyed it. And just this last weekend I included geocaching while out with our small Cub Scout den, and their Dads, when they were earning their hiking and map & compass belt loops. It made the hike enjoyable for them and they looked forward to each seek and find.

I have a VISTA HCX and will definitley give this a try. Thanks.

I've recently started geocaching and purchased the Vista HCX model and it's a great little unit. It is a tad more expensive, but I do like the electronic compass that came with it.
