  1. do pocket queries return the Gpx files so i could display the condensed cache pages on my phone? or is that another format?
  2. Glow in the dark enamel for the eyes on both sides!
  3. i think after everything and including postage they are going to come out between 5-7$ each, is that too expensive?
  4. Here we go folks, im still looking down a few avenues for my Somerset coin, but still wanted a personal coin so i came up with this: It still needs some tinkering but you get the general idea (improvement ideas welcome). Soft enamels, Dark is raised, light is recessed. Recessed areas have a fine sandblasted texture. There would be 250 trackable with a custom icon (More than likely the one in my avatar, without the blue) produced in 3 finishes, 6 different coins in total. Micro coin 1" in size So either: 50 Red + 50 Green in Polished Gold, 50 Red + 50 Green in Polished Nickel 25 Red + 25 Green in LE Two Tone Black Nickel and Polished Gold or 50 Red + 50 Green in Matte/Foggy Gold, 50 Red + 50 Green in Matte/Foggy Nickel 25 Red + 25 Green in LE Two Tone Black Nickel and Polished Gold the two tone would have all the raised in black apart from the Geocaching X on the front which would be Gold. What do you guys think? Would you buy them?
  5. Email he last people to find it and ask? It may just be a prank.. albeit not funny and crappy. otherwise i suppose you will just have to use boltcutters. And when you put the new one on use epoxy or similar to block the compo changing?
  6. Just a friendly heads up.. you may want to remove the tb number form the picture or obscure it in some way!
  7. Wow great minds and all that ! Ive just started leaving ZED washers that i stamp up on night shift when im bored ! What size washer do you use?
  8. Thank you. There is a terrible irony associated with that tag. I did the Tibetan Peace Cache with GeoDog in the grounds of the Imperial War Museum last December, it was absolutely bucketing down with rain, so I went into the museum, both Caesar and I were drenched and cold. In the bookshop they had Keep Calm and Carry On posters. I thought it was interesting and decided to make a pathtag, designed and ordered over the Christmas holiday. I felt it was a motto to live by no matter what life throws at you. Little did I know that by the time the tags were in production that Caesar would have passed away so suddenly and that turned out to be the very last geocache we ever did together. (I started caching as a result of looking for a gpsr that would tell me how far I had walked with Caesar, so it felt rather poignant). That's sad It's a motto i live by as well, being a secondary school teacher it has kind of become a personal mantra!
  9. Ive seen a few badges, but mostly i see laminated cards. Im trying to come up with my own idea for a signature item. I'm toying with the idea of a Washer stamped using letter punches and a laminated picture of my logo (see my avatar) attached via string Dorsetgal i absolutely LOVE that Keep calm and carry on pathtag i hope i can visit a cache you have dropped one of those off in!
  10. I use my HTC Hero (Android) exclusivly. I use (reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak), Geo Beagle and GC Tools. Brilliant stuff.
  11. I practice CITO pretty much every time i am out, and im attending my first local meet which happens to be a CITO event on saturday
  12. Im not planning anything epic , I like what i've produced ideas wise, i'm just fine tuning my design before getting some quotes on it I hope people like it, its a fairly basic coin
  13. I ask as im looking at producing a micro as costs of a full coin may be a bit too high!
  14. What do people think of micro coins? do ou buy/collect them as much as you would a regular coin?
  15. the 3 i ordered came through today! bigger than i thought! Thanks a lot!
  16. Thanks for the kind comments, can i ask which version (i think there are 5 now 2x2d and 3x3d) that you like the best?
  17. Thanks for the kind comments, can i ask which version (i think there are 5 now 2x2d and 3x3d) that you like the best?
  18. V2 for me as well, as with other posters, the star obscures the A far too much for me. Lovely looking coin though
  19. Does anyone/has anyone used GeOrg? Do any of the android apps access offline maps at all? i have just downloaded an app called Mapdroyd which uses open streetmap in a micromap format that you can download to your handset. so even without network coverage it can be used with the GPS to give you a good idea of where you are. If that could be combined with Geobeagle then it would be truly offline/paperless caching on the phone whenever/ wherever. Ive seen GeOrg supports openstreetmap, but is it only an active data connection thing?
  20. This sounds like the coolest thing! I wish they had stuff like this in the UK!
  21. Thanks a bunch! i have taken you up on your offer and dropped you an email I have had a few other Pms and emails aswell, so thankyou to you all so far for your help and input
  22. Looks like most people so far seem to prefer the 3rd itteration of the 3d design (the path leading up to the building) So i suppose i will run with that one for now, but it will all depend on costing i think. time to get some quotes!
  23. Im actually attending my first local event in a couple of weeks a CITO event in Worlebury Woods, Weston. So i was going to pitch he idea there as well
  24. Yep that's on the card to do.. any suggestions of where to get them minted? Thought i would get the majority of the design legwork done first (i quite enjoy it really) From some other points that have been raised, here is a modified version of the first coin: Shows where Domerset is and drops the cider text but keeps the Apple logo. the black outlining is raised polished gold as before.
