  1. Funny, our weim seems to be like that too but we still manage to find a cache or two in between giving him our constant attention.
  2. We read about in the Jeep Magazine, like several other that found out that way. Received a Garmin V for x-mas and had over 100 finds within two months. Just over 300 now (after 8 months) and have switched over to the Garmin Map 60CS
  3. There are a few programs out there that will do this automatically for your internet browser. You can set them to refresh at whatever interval you want. And no, I haven't used them for anything geocaching related. We have a few FTF and they were mostly just luck of seeing a new cache published near by and having the chance and desire to run right out the door to grab it.
  4. That mount is afixed by the adhesive disks. You get a temporary or movable one and a permanent one. I had that style of mount for my Garmin GPS V and I used the temopary adhesive to secure it to the dashboard. I recently purchased the exact same mount you are looking at for my 60CS and found that I needed to use the permanent adhesive, as the temporary wasn't strong enough to support the weight of the 60cs. We do enjoy this mount as it is easy to rotate and adjust it to reduce glare or to switch between facing the driver or front passenger of the vehicle. If you want, I can e-mail some photos of it in action.
  5. We also use GSAK by exporting to HTML files. In addition to the HTML cache pages we export our GSAK files to Streets and Trips and export those maps with the caches as pushpins to Pocket Street Maps on our IPaq's SD card.
  6. We have been using an HP 3955 Pocket PC for the past few months and have had great success with it. We use Microsofts Streets and Trips for the PPC and are able to store about a hundred different maps covering a very large area that we frequently visit. All the caches are loaded into it through GSAK as pushpins which make it easy to see what is around us. For the actually cache pages we use the HTML export feature of GSAK. I found that by keeping the files less than about 200 caches the PPC works great. So I have several folders on a 256MB card for the pocket PC which each folder covering a geographic area. The HTML export is great, as it provides many different ways to search for caches such as nearest, by name, by hider and a cache density feature.
  7. Buuu, wish I would have checked out your post yesterday as I just ordered a bike handlebar mount. Oh well, hopefully my full suspension mountain bike will lesson the chance of it popping out. I will have to test it out before hitting the trail and see if I can add something to the mount to secure it a little better. I didn't invest in the bean bag mount yet but based on the positive comments on it, it will be my next purchase. TeamShamrock, thanks for the interesting thread!
  8. The few virtuals that we have logged were in Washington D.C. and they were all very unique and worthwhile. The majority of the ones we logged were not your standard monuments or attractions and we would have never found those interesting sites without the virtuals. Our favorite was "Last stop for a weary traveler" check it out if you are ever in the area!
  9. guess i need to adjust the size of my avatar.
  10. I have been hanging out at the Maryland Geocaching website for about two months now and thought I would check out the forums here. - just wanted to check and see if my avatar was set up right and check out how the forum tags work for this
