  1. What's the best method/tools to use for multi-caches? For instance, today, I tried to locate one that gave you a starting position - no problem. From there, you worked the puzzle to get coordinates #2, then from there, you go X number of feet due East.

I'm using a Droid and was curious as to what works best after step 1.

  2.

Live searches will be a huge benefit with out the use of pocket queries. A lot of these features have already been addressed in other threads/forums; it would be nice if there were a "Geocaching for Android" like the iPhone, to bring all this information together. (Original and on topic enough?)

An Android Forum Group would be much appreciated. One thing I'd like to see in an official app is the ability to pick up and drop TB when you log your find. I think it would cut down on missing ones to be able to log them right from the field instead of having to remember to pick them up/drop them on the computer when you get home.

BTW...I'm basing this on using [ mod edit: unauthorized app ] on my Droid. I don't know if other programs like the Beagle allow you to do Trackables.

Oh! I CAN do trackables with this app. Just had to play with it a little longer.

  3. I see that a lot of people don't show a Location on their profiles on GC.com. I get a big kick out of seeing where other cachers are from. Is there a reason that many don't show anything?

  4. Officially, it's up to three days, but the caches I've placed have all been published within 24 hours. It depends on the reviewer in your area.

and the number of reviewers :D

I submitted one late at night on Tuesday and it's still not reviewed. I'm so excited about it being published, that it's hard to wait it out.

  6. I use my Droid as I'm just starting out and have other things to spend my money on right now. Make sure the GPS is turned on so you are not using just cell towers. I am using an app called **deleted by mod** and it asked me to install Radar and I did. On most of my finds (I'm only at 26 so far), it's lead me directly to the spot. It bounces around a little bit under heavy tree cover. So far, it's been a great app and seems to be pretty accurate.

The only thing I'd like to see is the ability to pick up and drop off Trackables. Does anyone know if that will be a feature of the Droid app from geocaching.com?

  7. We are guessing that you are referring to event-type caches (when you say, some items)...

To our knowledge, only event caches may be listed with a projected date. This is necessary so that cachers wishing to attend the event can adjust their schedules to accommodate. It also allows time for persons that may wish to attend such the opportunity to notice the posting, as not everyone checks on a daily basis. B)

Oh...I see now. I did a search for newest listings in Texas and I didn't pay attention to the icons on the far left. I'm learning, I'm learning!

  8. Why are some items listed with a "Placed Date" that has not occurred yet? Many of them already have dates that they have been found. I've seen them with April, May and even June 2010 dates, but are active already.

  9. I like trackables, my son likes the McToys. Really, they make his day. Although we found a transformer the other day, and he was just as excited as he was on Christmas morning.

I found one with my 10 year old son that had a couple plastic roaches on top of everything. He loved it (after almost screaming like a girl when he first opened it.) Guess what he took.

I just like reading the logs and seeing how far the dates go back. But I do like to find ones with swag as they make it more fun.

  10. How do I do a search or get a list for the newest caches near my home (or some other point)? I'm just starting and I'm on a mission to be a FTF. I've seen the list for newest in Texas, but that's a BIG area. I need to narrow it down to closer to home (or to where I am).
