  2. I went to bed last night before the February issue went live. Since I indicated in my initial posts that I'd be posting the questions in the evening, I'm going to hold off on posting them until tonight after work in deference to those folks who may have taken the time to read previous chapters expecting an evening release of the questions (I realise here that I can't make everyone happy). Today is mine and Mrs ICMs 27th anniversary and we plan to go out to eat so I can't give a specific time, but since I start dozing off around 8:30PM EST, I'm guessin it will be around that time. Also, by that time, the widest number of folks should be getting home from work, yet the old foggies (like me) on the East coast won't be kept up too far past their bed time. I hope the anticipation has added more fun than frustration, but being an impatient sort myself, I appologize for the delay.
  3. Sorry for the false start on this folks. Still waiting for the February Edition to hit. I'm off to work and hope to be able to post the questions tonight. PS - I've emailed an insider at Today's Cacher for an update.
  4. It's we'll past my bed time. Assuming the February edition is live tommorrow, i'll post the questions tommorrow evening.
  5. Answer 1 - I'm not a real person, but I play one on the internet. Answer 2 - My cats apparently don't think so, they don't listen worth squat. Answer 3 - Dunwhat? Oh, that. We'll see. Answer 4 - I'm not sure, but if Today's Cacher doesn't go live soon, I may just sleep through it.
  6. I"ll donate a Serial Finder Limited Edition Pewter (I've only got about 3 or 4 left out of the original 50)
  7. Just waiting for the February issue to got live. I'm leaving for work, so the questions won't get posted before this evening.
  8. I'm not certain what time Today's Cacher will be posted on line. I will post the questions after it's available. I probably won't get a chance to do that until after work tommorrow. I get home from work around sixish (that would be PM EST) Given time to kick off my shoes and such, and depending on whether I eat first, the questions should be posted somewhere between 6:00 and 8:00. Assuming, of course, that the February edition of Today's cacher is live at that time.
  9. I considered posting links to all the chapters, but I figured, hey, they're cachers, they'll FIND them.
  10. The February edition of Today's Cacher (www.todayscacher.com) , including Chapter 12 of "Serial Finder", is expected to be available on line on February 1st. Once it is available, I will be posting a list of 12 questions on this thread. The questions will be related to the Serial Finder story. Participants should email the answers using using my geocaching.com profile (click where it says "Serial Finder" to the left of this post). The first 6 emails recieved that correctly answer all 12 questions, will win a Serial Finder coin. (The first 3 will recieve the Limited Edition Pewter, the other 3 will recieve the Bronze version.) HINT: You may want to read the previous 11 chapters.
  11. It helps to bag them and make it clear they are travelers...
  12. I don't see anything wrong with making money selling a geocoin. Particularly when that money is realy just rolled back in to trading coins, as is the case with all but a handfull of people on this forum. I don't see anything wrong with turning coins into a commercial enterprise, as several cachers have. After all, if you don't like them, don't buy them. Supply and demand. Most of these coins tend to be cute and almost all are trackable. They are widely distributed and fairly easy to get if you try, and at a reasonable price. What mystifies me, is why anyone would pay upwards of 50 bucks for a coin that isn't trackable, has never been traded to a cacher, has never seen the inside of a cache and really has nothing whatsoever to do with geocaching other than that the producer is skinning geocachers on EBay? Why do we give our permission to be screwed over like that? It's just cute hunk of metal with GEO on it. It might as well be a Hummel with a GPS in it's hand. What makes it a geocoin?
  13. Anyone have an extrat to Trade for a Serial Finder? http://cointracking.com/view_series.php?sid=129
  14. These are getting shipped to me today so I expect to have them by the weekend so all the trades I've set up should be out by Monday if not before. I still have some left to trade. I'm looking primarily for personal coins but will also trade for Trackable state and organization coins.
  15. Any new chapters out yet? The next issue of Today's Cacher should be out the 15th.
  16. I tried KV coins on mine. They are taking forever.
  17. Serial Finders for trade only. And there are 100 especially for caches. They'll be activated but they'll be keepers.
  18. Due to the recent problems on Cointracking.com, my Serial Finder edition is no longer listed. Rest assured that my primary method of keeping track of trades was NOT cointracking.com. It was simply an aid. I have a record of all pending trades and all cachers can count on getting their coins. I expect them to arive by 12/20/05 and will get them out as imeadiatly as is practicable after they arrive. There are a few left and I'd be happy to consider additional trades. The coins can be seen here... I'm looking for personal coins in particular, but will consider trackable State and Organization coins as well.
  19. Serial Finder Bronse - 250 Pewter - 50
  20. I emailed Coins and Pins about a coin a week and a half ago and am still waiting for a response. Meantime, KV Coins, who did a fine job on the GW3 coins, has already been through three rouds of artwork.
