speakin of the yellowhead, there's 2 TB's around wynyard, SK that are dying to move along: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...50-8dc39146b0ce and http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ff-edb272404e71 S
  3. received 23 and 24 yesterday. thanks! S
  4. gpscity provided good customer service and quick delivery. will order from them again for sure. S
  5. that would be great as i have to drive from saskatchewan out to sudbury and then back this summer. i'm sure i'll need a few breaks along the way. i have already started searching by postal code for some of the cities i'll be passing through - but one keyword like TCHW to search would defintely be alot less time consuming. S
  6. oh, great! i kinda figured these clicksticks would have problems when i first took my legend out of the box. i've only been using mine for a couple months so no bad news yet. its a cool feature but looks like it'll be nothing but trouble if it gets bumped or something. S
  7. i need to upload the coordinates for about 50 points into my legend. i've got the data in excel and notepad, is there a way to get it into easygps or mapsource without punching them in one by one? S
  8. I'll be driving thru that latitude in about 2 weeks, if nobody's helped u out by then, i will. S
  9. just picked one up this morning. out of half a dozen on the shelf, i got the only decent one. like others said, most of them were rusty, had damaged seal, or didn't close properly. S
  10. just sent payment for bm #'s 23 and 24. S
  11. saw the ad in the mar 15 - apr 3 princess auto cat. that covers stores throughout canada incl. SK, MB, AB, BC, ON, etc. the ammo boxes r only on sale from mar 15-19th. S
  12. the first 3 that come up after searching whistler's postal code: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...74-bf6cab9ac20b http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...84-f0006490a916 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...81-6497a2aa081c S
  13. fyi, army surplus quality ammo boxes on sale for $6.88 starting tomorrow at princess auto. S
  14. i've also pondered this, it's a great idea! i also survey and have found quite a few bm's in my travels. S
  15. hi, i've got a 2500km trip coming up this spring and was wondering if there's a way to look up caches along this route, say, no further than 10km out of my way. thanks for any help. S
  16. no, i couldn't, considering they're in saskatchewan, not alberta.
  17. While searching for u.s. bm's close to the canadian border (on-line, not in the field yet) I've found alot of bronze disc/concrete block bm's quite a ways north of the 49th (up to a mile) that are listed as bm's in montana. i plan to check them out this summer, probably also try to find the international boundary markers. S
  18. ya, i hear ya. i should have inserted a few sarcastic smileys in my last post as i'm sure the southern prairies/northern plains aren't exactly hotspots for illegal border crossings. S
  19. thats a cool idea. i grew up in a town about 10 miles from the cdn/u.s. border in saskatchewan so i've seen lots of the concrete intl boundary markers. this was well before the rumours of if you got to close to the border helicopters would come swooping down out of nowhere to ask what u were up to! it would be fun to do but i'm about 4 hrs from the border now. I'll have to go and log a few next time I'm down there visiting and see if i can't get into some trouble. S
  20. congrats to them, I'm at 10!!!! it's going to be hard for me to reach any kind of big number for finds considering the fact that there are only 121 caches in sask. as of today. i might be working in ont. this summer so i hope to have fun caching around sudbury, killarney, and algonquin. S
  21. they're still being produced, I ordered a few a couple weeks ago and one of the them is numbered 2990. S

pioneer, no, i don't post on any ATV sites. i too live in warman and work in s'toon. small world, hey? S
  23. thanks for the info and yes, we are a developed country, complete with maps and all! not just dogsleds and snow - i once had a person in montana ask me if i had to ride a dogsled from canada to the U.S. border when i went down for a visit. montana and saskatchewan are very similar so i was kind of surprised at that question. S
  24. hey, I've got a garmain legend with an 8Mb memory and I'm wondering how big a typical 1:50,000 topo map is. just want to know how many i can upload before i shell out the $ for the mapsource cd. thanks for any help. S
