  1. we also got tired of seeing plasticware we started creating our own containers I am always tring to make new and different containers most of them end up being micros. I now am staring at an ammo box, my husband thinks I am regressing by using it but we are doctering it up so it should become a fun find. He is now OK with my ideas he really lets me do what I want we started selling some of them on ebay to support my hobby lobby bill. So many cache possibilities. I personally would love to see more original cache ideas not just cammo tape or paint. Nahtee
  2. Saddly after reading most of these I feel like an under acheiver we are stuck at 3. And that we do with baby on my back and pulling my 10 year old. I really thought we were doing well. HA HA. I now have to really pick a day and possibly a sitter and reevaluate our number potential.
  3. Wow fifty in a day I need to cach with you, and we were proud of three. I guess we need to get orginized. I did finally make a folder of all the caches within 20 miles that I now keep in the car. Now my husband just needs to remenber the GPS and working batteries( that is so key!!)
  4. I myself can bearly get out of the house with kids in tow. 3 caches on a good day for us and we are happy. But there are some incredably gifted and maybe pychic as well who can find 15 plus a day. when I asked them how they start early and with a good lap top and orginized plan and usually a group of friends ( extra eyes have got to help ) they widdle there way down the geocache list. Pretty amazing geocaching machines. plus they are retired. Were I am working 32 hour weekends has put a sudden damper on my addiction I am so jealous
  5. I am wondering what happened to get the attention of the state leg. in the first place. I could see if a cache was placed in a historical sight and the increaded foot traffic or car traffic if people are tring to drive or 4 wheel to get closer to the waypoints are messing up the natural historical beauty of the said park or cemitary or Archelogical site what ever may raise a few unhappy eyebrows. Geocaching is suppose to be suttle and non destructive not to mention kind of secretive. I know I played the I'm on the phone bit when muggles have passed by a few times. Anyway I am wondering what insident happened to start this snow ball because you know they didn't just one day go those bad geocachers need to be stopped. HMMM
  6. Just pumped gas today, and I am telling you I wish I had a little rice burner instead of a truck OUCH!!! Lucky I found a gas station still @ 2.09/gal the rest are steadly going up about a nickle every 2 days here in San Antonio, TX.
  7. Now wouldn't that be fun, geocaching playstation game interactive of course, HA HA if I tried to do that in the woods I get hurt tripping on something, Kinda clutsy if I don't watch my step.
  8. I have been wanting to go out alone since I have more down time then my husband, since I do not work during the week. I do not think I would feel very safe conpletely alone so my rottie and pit cross would go with me both very well mannered and even though very friendly most people cross the street when they see us coming. so let see what happens, cause I really need more finds!!
  9. I still think there are more people out there that won't get into this sport then will, I mean the pull of the playstations and X boxes are still greater then the pull of bushwacking for happy meal toys. I myself rather be out side looking for treasure, then growing pasty at home. Nothing against playstation or gameboys but just not for me. Don't want to affend the gamers. i know the people I try to get to try it out with me look at me like I'm a techy geek playing with a GPS in the woods. So for the over popultion of this sport, I do not think that will happen the media will bore of telling it and we will remain a forgotten secret sport. YEAH!!!!
  10. unfortunately there seems to be not much we wont do really hate to have a DNF. I usually have my baby on my back in a back pack, so it makes it harder but I sure can get my husband to stick his hand in all the holes and climb all the ledges and when he wont I am climbing the trees and he is left holding the baby. but I think most of the silly places we look the cache is usually in a n easier place, sigh.
  11. We started geocaching this past December and my husband says I have gone a little OCD but we have not been able to go in about a month because the kids were sick and making us sick, that lovely dominoe effect but I thought about it everyday the torture sick and odsessing, how sad. Now we are all better we will be out there again.
  12. Maybe I could make this a multi cache the first could be way points and the hint and the secound would be where it is hidden. But this still leaves the question if it would get approved?
  13. OK READING ALL THESE , LETS SEE, if i FIND A ALREADY EXCISTING DEPRESSION AND HAVE A CONTAINER THAT YOU CAN LEAVE THE LID OUT OF HOW WOULD I WRITE THAT IN TO LET OTHERS KNOW THAT IT IS IN THE GROUND . AND WOULD THAT GET APPROVED. SINCE I DID NOT DIG A HOLE AND OTHER CACHERS WILL NOT NEED SPECIAL EQUIP. (SHOVELS)?
  14. Gas... do not like it. Try to do cache close to home or on the way to something else we need to do/go to. Just wait in a couple of weeks it will go up another $0.25. Increase production in the middle east. Go OPEC pump that crude.
  15. We love to find golf balls in caches, near caches and anywere around caches. Not cause we play golf but because we turn them into cache containers. It has taken off so well and is really difficult to find if you place them near a golfing area. My wife has even started to sell them on e-bay. We have had people actually pick it up thinking its a golf ball (to put in a cache) that is lost. Not until further inspection do they realize it is a cache container. Check the logs for Momma Dog's Cache. Momma Dog's Cache
  16. ok how to x mark the spot over a hole without it looking hokey? everyone would love to play piarate every now and then or is that my little dirty secret.
  17. we seem to find golf balls at every cache we go to not in the cache but all over the ground on the way there. we just pick them up and put them in our bag. we not see who can find the most my daughter usually can find at least three. it inspired us to make one int a micro cache, because people tend to not even notice them anymore talk about cammo! HA HA!
  18. My husband read something about geocaching in the paper and looked it up, we already had a GPS and we hiked every chance we got this just seemed to be the best of both for us. the kids love it and it is a good way to get them out aand about.
  19. my kids raelly want to bury one with the whole X marks the spot and every thing. does anyone have any good suggestions on how to do this without making people bring a shovel and search dog.
