I think that as long as it is a public access cemetary then it is far to place them there. Then again you must use some common sense when hidding the cache. We went to look for one at an abandoned pet cemetary. It was film canister in a hollow tree. No hinderance of the site was needed.

I Really Hate To Mention This But I've Gotta Get
The Junkyard Dogs replied to Team HHD1's topic in General geocaching topics
Some caches move more then other. I noticed on our caches the ones that are more difficult to get get placed incorrectly most often. So we started to teather them down. -

What Do You Wear?
The Junkyard Dogs replied to MaisOui & Avrohead's topic in General geocaching topics
Cache as covered as possible in Texas. Long pants, socks, boots, tee shirt and hat. To many things that will come out and get yah. -
It might be ok to leave food if it were hidden in a bear proof container. Ok not to many bear proof containers used as caches around here. I would be leary about food but a sealed bottle of water? I think it might be refreshing. Better then a McToy

Geocaching And Methamphetamine Awareness
The Junkyard Dogs replied to kent1915's topic in General geocaching topics
It might be a good idea to write an article on it and submit to the TOdays Cacher Magazine or even schedule an interview on the GeoRadio.org site. -
I agree, it needs to be a merit badge in the making. We did a spring break camp this year and we (me and my eagle scout buddy) made a nature hike that we ploted out using our gps receivers. That way we were able to keep the hike exactly the same route no matter what time you went on it. Plus they had to look for clues along the way to find the lost toy box left by previous scouters. That was our way of getting the boys an exposure to geocaching. It was a 1.05 mile hike and about 3/4 the way through we found the hidden toys in a dried up river bed. They loved it. The best part about it being on gps was that if the group arrived late we were able to modify the route using a go to function. Worked every time and the cub scouts loved it.

Geocaching : A Caucasian Sport?
The Junkyard Dogs replied to RakeInTheCache's topic in General geocaching topics
I dont think that it is a caucasian sport. I think is more of a draw to the techie nerd geek circle who like the outdoors. All of the people I have meet caching are of that circle. Computer programers, lab techs, engineers, website builders and the such. So, if you are not exsposed to the technology you wont even have a cahce of being in the game. -
what type of certificates? Is it a golden ticket?

How about you just wear the dog tags as dog tags. Then you can skip the tattoo, or what to see if it is even worth it. Just an Idea: If you do have it done get it put on your tongue.

When Geocaching, Do You Carry A Firearm?
The Junkyard Dogs replied to Team HHD1's topic in General geocaching topics
No, I dont carry. I would carry but lack having a gun and permit. However, I do think that it would be good to carry a weapon of sorts for self defense. I have been think of what I might be able to carry besides a walking stick. -
That is really cool. I guess some has already asked a similar question. However I guess I could have searched the site for it, but it just came to me and I started the topic. I guess if you look in a search you can find almost every topic already talked about. For those in scouting I applaude you and may all your scouts be able to sore like eagles.

I am an Eagle also, 1994 with Troop 234, San Antonio, Texas. Sorry off topic. Oh dont use pipes with end caps as a cache container. People get a little suspicious when you pull that out of your back pack and hide it in a bush.

Thats okay, dangerous things are fine as long as they have warnings. Just ask fireworks dealers, ha ha aha ha
