  1. There is a web-cam cache in Edinburgh city centre which might be worth a visit. There aren't too many webcams in Scotland.
  2. Well isn't that just like it; 10 mins after I post here, I can log in OK. The home page looks utterly different so I guess they must have been doing a site upgrade although I didn't see any advance notification of the site being down.
  3. Same problem here. I can log into these forums but not the geocaching site.
  4. I managed to solve 9 of the puzzles in the lake before we visited in 2011. Fanto, who has set many of them, speaks English and was helpful in verifying my thinking and answers (there don't seem to be many with geocheckers). The ones I solved were all on the mainland rather than on the island. How's your German? In the event, we didn't have time to visit any of the puzzles and just settled for a few trads on the island while walking around the town. Jack fitzsimons
  5. Is it me? I'm still getting instances when my "home" PQ isn't picking up corrected co-ords but it's not consistant. My latest attempt DID pick them up. Any thoughts?
  6. I've just downloaded two PQs which were giving me problems before but now they seem to include corrected co-ords.
  7. I'm downloading my GPS files from the website. Ones I downloaded on May 22 and earlier were OK but I noticed that those I've downloaded since 30 May have the problem.
  8. PQs I've downloaded since 30 May have not included co-ordinates which I have corrected on the cache listing page. Prior to that it seemed to work OK but my most recent PQs have just had the cache listing co-ords rather than anything I have corrected. I've read about this being a problem with the iPhone app but this seems to be a more general problem.
  9. I don't know this cache personally but reading the description it looks like you have to do the orienteering trail and pick up the information from all the control posts along the way. Once you have all the info then you need to substitute numbers for all the letters. I hope i've got that right. Perhaps a local cacher could give more info. HTH J
  10. Interesting. I've had a pair of KSB6 boots for about 15 years and I'd swear by them. I have remained dry-shod despite some of the places I've taken them. I wonder if Karrimor quality has dropped off in the intervening period. I've certainly seen some astoundingly cheap Karrimors recently so perhaps you get what you pay for.
  11. On the "old" maps I could tick a box to put a number next to each cache and cross-reference them to a list of caches displayed on the same webpage. Neither of these features appears to be available any more. This was very useful when printing out a map and a list to take out caching. Can this facility be reinstated?
  12. I've found a problem when trying to enter a corrected coordinate for a puzzle cache when the new coordinate is near the Greenwich meridian. I'm trying to enter W0° nn.nnn but the website asks me to confirm E0° nn.nnn. I can't see a way to force a change to West. I can only accept the incorrect coordinate or cancel the change.
  13. The event took place in October. There are 6 TBs still listed there. I imagine they will have all been taken by attendees or are with the CO. I would email him (in English)and ask if he can send a note to all the participants asking them to check if they have any of the TBs. hth Jack
  14. Warwickshire Geocaching Association This new website is only in its infancy and is under development. Please create an account or sign the guestbook.
  15. We only have one; we got it at an event. Beat the competition to it by seconds.
