  1. Darn... I did not receive the first message because I didn't have "tips and tricks" turned on. Now I turned it on, and I still didn't get the second message. And no, it's not in my spam folder either.

I'm in the same boat. I sent a request to the Help Centre yesterday but just got a boilerplate response telling me to look in the spam folder, which I'd already done. Sigh. I'm getting all the other Groundspeak emails, just not these ones.

Maybe you need to log out then back in after making the change. I know it does not make sense, but it can't hurt.

Also there have been some glitches with new cache reporting. It may be related.

  2. Different virtual with similar name. I looked at his profile. He had two plus many other types of hides. All now archived but this one.

The title of this thread is "https://coord.info/GCB416 OPERATION HIGH DESERT ADVENTURE being archived?"

One never concerns oneself with the "name" of a cache. It's the unique GC code that counts.

ARCHIVED AT REQUEST OF ADMIN. NCFLYERS.

THIS CACHE ALSO WAS A 'ONE TIME'FIND.

Well it would appear that the command did not take place. Archive did not happen.

  3. Here is my study. Delorme PN60 geocache located. Accuracy plus minus 6 feet.

My GZ was within 4 feet. Friends smartphone

Geocaching APP. Same geocache accuracy plus minus 32 feet. His GZ showed 38 feet.

I place a cache people say wow dead on.

Those who hide one with smartphone get told

Crappy coords. Which is better? Mine! It will still be ticking when smartphone go dead. I can change batteries whereas smartphone can not.

  4. A while back there was a worm from Europe

That was logging finds. It would place a link if clicked on would infect your computer. So watch out for that. But I do think that problem was resolved. But still there may be some of those out there with the link removed. They look legit and the CO may be off line and not know of the bogus logs.

  5. I would just drop the issue. Letterbox caches by nature do not even use GPS cords to find them.

It is based on clues alone. When you mix it with geocaching then you get cords to start.

After that it is fair game. We have a few of the type described in this forum around my area.

Absolutely no problem with the type. The problem here is lack of understanding.

Go read up on it and learn.

  6. Unless GS sorts out the problem with the "long running Skript" I wont be doing any Caching for a while. It takes too Long to get the gpx files.

There must be something with IE 11. It has been giving me the same thing. What I do is click on the page a few times. Then a box

Pops up at bottom of screen. Not responding due to a long running script. Stop script.

I click that box and script stops. It is those darn ads on the page. Then I am good to go. Problem is it happens on all the pages. But I have found it does not in Firefox when you have flash turned off.

I told my computer to report unresolved problems yesterday. Today it tells me to restart to finish updates.

After that the long running script problem is now gone in IE 11.

  8. I am here at work and one of my fellow employees now has that Pokemon app on his phone. While in the building here he caught a Pokemon critter. Then while talking with him about it he caught a caterpillar Pokemon that he says was on my shoulder.

I can see some big problems ahead with that. Private property, as well as some with mental issues. A Pokemon critter on my shoulder! Kill it BOOM!!

  9. So I recently calculated coordinates for geoart. I have all the final coordinates in an excel file. Is there a simple way to send them from the excel file to the gps, as waypoints? I am using a Garmin GPS Map 64s. Windows 7, Office 2007.

I don't think so. You need it to be a GPX file. Maybe you should go to the cache page for that and manually alter those coords.

On any ? mark cache page you can alter the coords and save that page as such. Then send it to your GPS unit.

It just dawned on me, you might be making geoart. If so you will need to create a waypoint in your GPS unit.

Then alter those coords to suit what you need to do.

  10. We completed the Colorado State Star today and ended up on private land for #23-31. All of the northern point is on private property and the riders on horses were not happy to see us today. Does anyone know if permission was given?

    Do you care?

You got your smilies, whether you signed the logs or not.

One would think that someone with over 20,000 "finds" and 80 hides that you would be experienced enough to know to contact the cache owner. How the heck are forum pundits supposed to know what's going on between the cache owner, the land owner(s) and Groundspeak?

Bringing this to the forum seems more like pot-stirring.

    B.

Colorado the land of PRIVATE PROPERTY. Where you are lucky you did not get shot for criminal trespass.

I have hunted out there. The DNR told me they have very strong property rights out there.

You had better care about this or the results may be very bad.

  11. Thanks guys!

I always store the picture on the cache page using the abmin tools, upload images.

Then click the image after it is on the page. copy the url and paste it into this.

    <center><img src="(code goes here) "></center>.

I paste it over the statement (code goes here). This also works for giffs.

You copy this into the cache description. For multiple images you just do it for each one.

  12. Far too generous. Would you give a deer rifle to somebody to help them get interested in deer hunting? Answer NO!

Would you take them with and lend them

One of yours while they hunt with you?

Answer YES! The same goes with any activity

Lend it to them while they are with you.

Or take them to an event put on by a park.

Where they lend out or rent out GPS to find thier geocache that they have hidden.
