in How do I...?
Sorry that still is not fully correct. That is for the Firefox extended release version. Which also stated that some problems will be encountered with that version.
Which will also end support of plug ins in early 2018, that is what the website said. I do not know were your info comes from.
I just opened my Firefox and it updated again. Still says plug in is not supported. So as I said before IE 11 will support the send to GPS plug in.
This is what comes from the Web page regarding this issue.
Also a screen shot of my Firefox stating the fact that the plug in is not supported.
Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work?
Beginning in Firefox version 52 released March 7, 2017, installed NPAPI plugins are no longer supported in Firefox, except for Adobe Flash. Some of the plugins that will no longer load in Firefox, even though they may be installed on your computer, include Java, Microsoft Silverlight and Adobe Acrobat. See this compatibility document for details.
Over the past few years, Firefox has implemented various Web APIs so that websites can do the same things they’ve always done without plugins, so you will most likely not notice any change to your browsing experience.
Why did Firefox do this?
The internet is full of websites that go beyond static pages, such as video, sound and games. NPAPI plugins, especially Flash, have helped enable these interactive pages. But they also make your browsing slower, less secure and more likely to crash.
Over the past few years, Firefox has worked hard to build replacements for these plugins. Together, they are called Web APIs. They are designed to replace the function of these plugins without undermining your internet security, stability and performance.
Before, these Web APIs weren’t quite ready, so Firefox started the transition by making plugins load manually (click to activate).
Today, they’re ready. Many sites have adopted them, and almost all your favourite pages can be enjoyed without using old and insecure plugins. Firefox joins other modern browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge to remove support for these NPAPI plugins.
I’m having problems
In case you’re not yet ready for this transition to happen, the ESR (Extended Support Release) of Firefox 52 will continue to support these plugins until early 2018. Click here to download Firefox ESR.
Important: The Windows 64-bit version of Firefox 52 ESR only supports the Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight plugins. If you also need support for Java or other installed plugins, choose the Windows (32-bit) download.
By default, Firefox 52 ESR will use the same user profile data as other versions of Firefox. Installing Firefox 52 ESR after using Firefox version 55 or above can cause problems such as loss of browsing history, error messages, breakage in portions of Firefox and issues with some websites. You should either create a new profile to use with Firefox 52 ESR or else refresh Firefox after installing Firefox 52 ESR. -

Well you must not have updated your firefox. The latest firefox will not support plug ins. I had the plug in in my firefox. Then when it updated it got removed. Firefox also would not let me reinstall it. It said that plug ins are no longer supported. So no I am not wrong.

The only browser that can use the send to GPS function is IE10 or IE11.
Provided that the GPS manufacturer has provided a send to GPS plug in that you can install into IE10 or IE11. Internet explorer 11 IE11 can be installed into Windows 10.

Another method to load geocache. Run pocket query. Send it to your email. open that email and download the pocket query.
Connect the PN unit to your computer as a drive. Open the waypoints folder. Drag and drop the files into that folder.
Then tell the PN unit to connect as a GPS. Disconnect the unit then open the geocache file that you loaded. you can load more than one file in.
Good hunting for cache.

So let me clarify A patch for TOPO North America 10. It may also work for 9. That patch will allow you to login to geocaching.com through TOPO.
Then you run a pocket query. then import it directly into the TOPO software. from there you would load it into your PN 60,40,30 but most likely not the 20.
The send to GPS plugin is a separate item that gets installed into IE 10 or IE 11 only. The send to GPS plugin will work for all Delorme PN units.
I currently run both they work fine.
-
The send to GPS still works with Internet Explorer 11. Granted that it causes a few problems at times, but it does work.
Also There was a patch for TOPO that would let you log in to geocaching.com and do a pocket query. Garmin has since closed that
patch down as well as all Delorme help. But I have a copy of the patch. as well as the send to GPS plugin. But like I said the plugin only works with IE11.
Then using TOPO to bring it into the map. this method also fixes any 1A hex issues.

I seem to remember reading in the guidelines. Use of a drone to place or retrieve a cache was prohibited. But now I can't find it in the guidelines.
Could a Groundspeak lacky please comment on this.

Gorilla tape in camo. Here we nicknamed it the evil ducktape.
Wrap a container in it and hang it 15 feet up. It is very hard to see.
-
Wow just because you may not use it you do not understand it. Topo is used by Delorme users to load geocaches into our units . I would say expand your thoughts.
-
You may think it is picking but it does affect us all. My topo software, used for geocaching. I do not use gsak. But have heard of Microsoft up dates screwing that up. As well as other softwares that we all use to do this hoby. Point being if suddenly your stuff act up and Microsoft uodated a possibility exists that it was a part of the problem.
Gripe to Microsoft no use. You need to find solution to the issue. Software repair replace or update to work with the changes. When Microsoft updates it is to much more than Windows .
The whole network may be affected.
One place I work is with a government institution Microsoft updates trashed our Network and had to be repaired.
The problem was not with the individual computers either.

Wow nice quick fix. I would bet it was a Microsoft issue. Google maps had no problem. Only the geocaching Google map. My smartphone also had issue with that map. It was making me move the map with two fingers rather than one. Shortly after noon my time it went back to correct behavior. As you may have seen in a post I did, Windows 10 updated and then some programs went buggy. It may have caused this as well.
Thanks for the fix.

So Garmin bought Delorme.
But will not give support for Delorme products.
Heh! That's life. But Microsoft updates may cause issues.
A recent Windows 10 update trashed mine. Something about an incompatible dll or droken dll.
Microsoft broke it with the update. But easy fix. Just put your installation disk into your computer. When prompted choose the repair option.
Mine is all fixed now. Good luck.

I recently acuired a Garmin GPSMAP 64st. Garmin says for this to use Garmin express to send caches to the unit.
But it says first to creat a list then send that list. The communicator is not used at all here. Will this work for you? Unknown! But if it does then any geocaching list currently in your unit may be overwritten and replaced by the new list. This method works with all browsers.

I once used a compass to find a geocache ...
It was way back when I started caching , and I was looking for every and any cache near home, not having yet formed the caching tastes which would now mean I would probably totally ignore a magnetic nano up a road sign ... it may well have been my first ever magnetic nano.
The problem was the thing had a weak magnet and was barely within my reach, so when my fingertips just brushed it the little perisher fell off into the long grass below. Despite some time spent searching through the grass ( like a chimp grooming a good friend , I just couldn't see it.
Despair was replaced by a sudden thought ... I drove home, found my silva compass, went back, and used it like a metal detector, waving it slowly just above the vegetation. Sure enough the needle rotated crazily as it passed one spot, being affected by the magnetic field of the nano, enabling me to concentrate my search on the correct place, triumphantly find the nano and sign the log. Then put it back really carefully Since then I've carried a button compass of the novelty type in my caching kit just in case the trick needs repeating !
Great tool to add to a caching kit.
I also used a compass to find a magnetic hidden under the top fence plastic guard on a baseball field fence.
-
Sure you can use a compass in geocaching. I have a hide to do just that.
GPS coords to start and then compass bearing with footsteps to the next point.
North is zero degrees.
Then another bearing direction and count them steps. The final is now in hand. I would not use a GPS compass since most of the time you need to be moving for that to work. Also more degree markings on a traditional compass. The only issue with this has been foot steps are different for long legs vs short legs. But the beacon is quite noticeable.

See, mine is for after you have gone through the creation sequence and have a cache page.
You can add the picture with my instructions. Mine is but one of a few different lines of code to use.
That link does the same thing using my same method.

This is what I do.
Step one: upload the image to the cache page, make sure to name it.Step two: On the cache page find the link to the picture.
Click double click on it to open it.Step three: copy the Http address. Hilite the address and copy it.
then click the back button on your browser.Step four: Open Notepad on your computer not Word!!
Word may cause strange things to happen.
Type this line of code into notepad.
<center><img src="code goes here "></center>Step five: Between the " " marks hilite Code goes here then paste
that Http address that you copied in this location.Step six: Now hilite that whole line of code and copy it.
Step seven: on the cache page click on edit in Admin tools.
Step eight: scroll down to the box long description.
Paste that code that you copied here.Step nine: check yes on the two boxes at bottom of page
and submit. then open your cache page. You should see what you created.

You have identified your problem and don't know it. Windows 10!!!
An update most likely messed things up. Try re-installing the software.
Windows 10 updates have messed up many other software programs. sometimes you may need to get an update for the software.
But a re-install may work also. Good luck.

The OP wanted to add animated gif to the cache description page.
I really hope that isn't something that is allowed, as it doesn't appear on my GPS.
Try what I have listed in my earlier post.
There is a line of HTML code there. Copy that to notepad. Up load your gif to your cache page. On the cache page open that gif. Copy what is in the address bar. Then paste that in the HTML code that I gave. Place it in place of the statement code goes here. Make sure those quotation marks stay put.
Then copy and paste your new HTML code line into the cache page. But you will need to go to edit on your cache page and place it in the box for 500 characters. Then click those two little boxes at bottom of the edit page to accept all that. Should be good to go.
That is what I do.
-
The pictures or animation never goes to any GPS unit. However it may show up on a smart phone.
-
For all pictures and gif here is what I do.
Find a gif copy and save it in your computer. Then upload an image, gif to your cache page. Remember to give it a name. Then go to your cache page. Lower left side above logs you will see icon for your image. Click it when open copy the http address. Then close that image. In note pad type this code. Then save that file. You will want to use it over and over. Highlite the words code goes here then paste that http that you coppied. Now highlite that whole line of code. Paste that into the 500 word box where you edit the cache page.
All done good to go.
<center><img src=" code goes here"/></center>

Ok cache cop I have solution. You log NM, I simply log owner maint.
Now prove me wrong. Owner maint. Log keeps reviewer and Groundspeak off my back. Prove maint not done.

I think that there may be a poorly worded guideline here. I think that by hub, they mean a route of transportation. A road! That may be meaning that an event should not require a mile hike in the woods to get to. It should be easy to get to.
A park, a restaurant , a public place to gather. Train station! Of course not, airport, now way bus station nope.
Sorry about that. I should use my computer to read these instead of smartphone. I thought they were griping about needing to have an event near a transportation hub. Well of course near them may not be a good idea. But same question how close is close. Best answer is to just go to a park or food joint.
Puzzle Cache Distance

Sometimes the puzzle cache may be a multy also. I recently found one of that type. It took me on about 200 miles of driving. The to the final about 70 miles as the crow flys from the ? icon. But stage one was within the two mile limit. That cache was not too old.
