The Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Camping Event
The Cache Hoppers replied to SidAndBob's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Great event, however I am gutted that PuP didn't wish James and the Giant Dunnie a fond farewell via the megaphone as we left site. -
Last Welsh Trig - party time.

Yup, hooked on trigs - got some very funny photos of some trig antics in Pembrokeshire which we will be uploading shortly. We even had to remove some heavy ivy growth from one and give it a new lease of life, which will undoubtedly cause a few Welsh peeps to wonder where on earth that trig, now standing firmly above the hedge, came from. It looked more like a tree stump when we found it. Well done Rob - excellent afternoon in excellent company. Whisky (I never touch it, hic) and chocolate biscuits at the summit - very civilised. Looking forward to setting up a similar event to commemorate the finding of the last surviving English trigpoint. [] -

Last chance for a BUMP before I head off to the Wye Valley event. Lunch is booked and I have added on a couple of extra to the numbers just in case there are any last minute Will Attend logs. -

Best case scenario ... could be up and running again by lunchtime Worse case scenario ... might not be until tomorrow lunchtime Lots of finger crossing is probably the only way to speed things along now. Would be nice if it could be up today because it's the Pupmeister's birthday and all his NW chums can send him birthday greetings. -

Waiting for their offices to open at 9am - they are going to get a rocket up their bottoms! -
If that was an Edinburgh coin that was coming my way, I do hope you didn't do as suggested because I would need some of them gloves that Bones (Jeff) puts in caches before I could handle it. I have no need to worry of course because there was no Edinburgh coin prize was there?

Anyone else having problems with the SE ones? They're working fine for me. -
Posting on behalf of PopUpPirate who is at work and not able to access these forums currently. The North West Caching Forums are out of action today - hope to be back up this evening. Will post back when there is more info to hand.

Just to ease the confusion .... if you don't mention that you are with the Geocaching rally, you are likely to be told they are full. The magic word is "Geocaching" Hazel, you mentioned that you wouldn't know til last minute whether you could make it or not ... we will squeeze you in, no worries. -
Please can we have our UK Car Boot thread back

How about using Regional forums for selling geocaching items? They are not governed by GS policies, and speaking for the SE forums specifically, you can try and sell your granny on there as far as I am concerned -
If you are out group caching, make out you have already decoded the hint (or read it if you are paperless) and give the others a red herring (ie if it is under a log tell 'em its in the ivy) - then you get to find it! Teehee! Better still, tell them there is no clue

Oh I am gonna have a sulk - I want to shorten the new reviewer's nick to Gracie! Graccy sounds really harsh and I am sure he's a real softie at heart. Or how about "darling" as in Grace Darling!?! I reckon the new mod could get away with that Has Graculus stated a preference anywhere? -
Congrats to MrB and thanks to Keith for the fun competition - such a pity there wasn't a prize
