  1. Yesterday, while at Redemption Rock near Mt. Wachusett which has a decent tree coverage, it kept a lock the whole time while stowed away in my waist pouch. We cached there and also did a little exploratory hike, I was pleased. It also kept a nice lock the entire way up Mt. Wachusett in and out of trees- again while zipped away. I look forward to cross-country skiing with it since now I won't have to figure out a way to attach it somewhere. However, it is new and I haven't had time to give it a good test yet in the woods in Stow which are also dense and where I used to often lose a signal with my Legend. bobolinx
  2. Hi, I live in Mass and have a legend, which I love for the same reasons you do: lightweight, easy to use... But, for various reasons bought a 60cx recently. Yesterday, I finally got a chance to try it out for geocaching. While my friends' receivers were losing reception, I kept mine on, but zipped in my waist pack until we got near the cache. It kept reception for the whole hike that way. Quite impressive, especially since it's difficult to always carry it around. If you're a serious mtn. biker, you might not like the extra weight and size, but for ease ofuseand great reception, it is a great device. bobolinx.
  3. Thank you to everyone for your replies. It sounds like a great device. Sarah
  4. Hi all, I have been reading forums about the 60cx vs. 60 csx and decided that cx looks awesome. However, for those of you that do have either of them, I have some quick questions. 1. I have bad eyes for reading, my legend is ok since it's easy to increase the size of numbers. Yet. how big can one make the directions while driving? Since there are no voice navigation prompts, is the screen large enough to see without glasses? 2. Which software do you use for navigating to the site? I have topo for the legend, and assume it is loadable to another garmin device, but rumor is that city select is no longer and one must buy city navigator. I read somewhere that the 60csx is only compatable with city select true or old info? The packages are selling with city select. Is this compatable with an upgrade of city navigator? 3. Does anyone use this device for both the driving to and caching? How does it work in the dual role? 4. Memory card? Can one load both topo and driving software onto the device? How big of a card would I need for New England? Thank you for your imput! Bobolinx
  5. Etrex Legend and iBlue for the ppc, if you're still counting!
  6. Since there hasn't been much snow in Massachusetts lately, we've been able to enjoy a winter of geocaching. However, as I tried to use iGuidance on my ppc to get to the site, it turns out that it doesn't use the correct coordinates. Does anyone have any idea how to change this setting in iGuidance? It hasn't been a problem before since we've relied on my friend's Quest to navigate to the parking but today the ppc was off by over 60 miles. I realize this is a specialized request but I'm going to fish out there on the web hoping that I can use the ppc for something fun! Thanks in advance, bobolinx
