  1. The issue I had was in an area that I only have 1 PQ so no overlap of older and newer PQ that may contain different info.  I delete any PQ file when replacing with a new one.  I delete the old found it and logged files off the garmin after downloading to drafts.   I have not had any issues the last 2 weeks,  try to get out at least once weekly - different areas each time - download about 500 to 1000 caches for the general location I will be going to (usually only get 15-30 caches in a day but like to dream big).  Thanks for all the replys.   Will watch for any new issues and likely erase all older PQ still stored on the garmin.

  2. Has anyone had any recent issues with pocket queries.  2 of the last 3 I have done are showing caches that I have already logged as not logged on the GPS (garmin colorado).  I went out yesterday to to a run of 85 caches - I had found about 1/2 of them 3 months ago.  Had a new pocket query that I downloaded yesterday - got there and it was showing most of the found caches as not found - did not show 1/2 of the not found at all.  Had 1000 downloaded and centered in the middle of the grouping.   Same thing happened 2 weeks ago - driving through a town I had done 30+ caches one year ago - all came up as not found.

    Thanks,

  3. Registered on the forum yesterday - installed most recent usb drivers again

Installed the updater finally last night once got if figured out

    Installed recovery tool 3 yesterday

Installed one other - forgot name right now

The problem is that they won't recognize the GPS when connected - at best I have had it say garmin and FAT32 but no files can be found - usually will only say a removable disk and not identify as garmin.

I have not been able to search the garmin for any files as it will not identify it as a garmin

  4. Again thank you everyone but now I am totally lost - at best i can get the computer to recognize a removable disk but not garmin - if try to open - no files found. The GPS power website looks like it may be helpful but is way beyond my understanding.

  5. Just want to ask again if anyone has a file to use to do a master reboot - talking to garmin support they only suggested the reset where you hold the 2 softkeys when booting - have tried at least a dozen times - it asks are you sure you want to do this and when answer yes the screen freezes. Thanks for any help

  6. Thanks for all the help. With miked's suggestion I actually got the GPS to be recognized by the computer for the first time in 7 months. It says the file is empty but that is progress. I would like to try a master reboot but the file as suggested for M12 could not be opened unless I am missing something. Does anyone have that file - the colorado mass storage zip is the only file that is clickable and the message I get is it can't be read.

    Thanks,

  7. Thanks for the suggestions, have tried to reset - holding the buttons - it asks are you sure and then freezes if answer yes, have tried no memory card, with and without batteries. The computer will not recognize the unit when attached to computer. Needs a new rock-n-roller wheel (currently taped). I am not about buy, buy, buy but enjoy geocaching and currently it is a pain in the butt with much older GPS and entering all coords by hand, no descriptions of cache - coords only.

  8. Orlando area should be nice at this time of year but there is a good possiblility of cold or snowy weather in all the other locations. We live in Tampa - about 1-1/2 hours from Orlando but there are a lot of great caches in the Orlando area. What kinds of caches are they looking for? Can always do a search for favorites in whichever area you are travelling to.

  9. So I have had 4 garmins since I started caching. The most recent was a Garmin colorado - had one stolen, replaced with purchase on e-bay. The newest one has frozen up and will not load past the loading maps screen - so its time for a new GPS. Looking for cachers that have used multiple GPS units - suggestions, what do you uee, do you like it, would you purchase it again, problems, etc...

    Thanks for all input.

  10. Any suggestions out there to reboot a colorado 400t? It recently will not load past the loading maps message at the bottom. Changed batteries, connected to computer, tried the hard reboot (power button and 2 front buttons) and asks sure to delete all data - say yes but will not go further - screen dims and thats it.

    Thanks,

  11. Thank you very much kini_ont.

We really appreciate the cointest as we don't ever see any here anymore. We have always liked your coins. Can you tell us more about the different pics. Did you participate in the torch relay?

    Thanks,

    Will message address to you.

  12. Pic #1. That is a torch for the Toronto Pan Am/Parapan Am games. The relay last 41 days through about 130 communities mostly in Ontario. It was lit in May 2015 at the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico. The torch will be carried by about 3000 torchbearers and travel about 20,000 km. The The aluminum torch stands 65 centimetres high and weighs 1.2 kilograms. With a burn time of 10 to 12 minutes, the flame can withstand winds of up to 70 kilometres per hour and is visible in all kinds of weather conditions. Very cool if you are a torchbearer.

Pic #3. The Rendez-Vous Champlain festival commemorates the 400th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain’s arrival in Ontario. Happening 400 years to-the-day, this commemoration is set to inclue a procession, Fish Fry, Fireworks, Interactive Workshops and displays, Live Music concert, Feast of the Three Sisters Gala, a re-enactment of Samuel de Champlain’s arrival and more. The festival will take place from Friday July 31 to Sunday August 2, 2015 The festival will be held at Penetanguishene Rotary Park 8 Owen Street Penetanguishene, ON L9M 1M8 Canada.

    Thanks for the cointest.

  14. Sorry we missed the cointest. Checked on our travel express train - it made it 3303 miles before it disappeared in 2011. The two the we helped move made it farther at 4000+ miles and 22000+ miles but none have moved in over 6 months and all are now listed as unknown location. Enjoyed helping the original travel express coins.

  15. Here is the first look at a sample. This edition is satin silver with smoky effect on the recessed areas.

It will not be available for sale as this is an edition I created for dropping in caches during my travels this summer.

The rest of the samples will be here next week.

Very nice. Any chance your travels will take you to Florida, we can name a lot of caches down here you could drop some in.
