  1. Happy Easter! I have a coin for both of you. It may be a few days before I get the adoption request sent. Oh wow, thank you! Can't wait!
  2. Late start for us, but as we are new to this, our goal this year is to hit 50 caches. We were going to say 100, but we are both full time students and full time employees and planning a wedding, so we are not sure how much time we will have, so we will stick with 50. cBk31211 (Chad and Kristina)
  3. I tried using the route feature, but it only did the route along a road, not a trail. Am I doing something wrong? Here are some addtional methods for creating a route to be up loaded. I use mapsource myself. http://www.markwell.us/route.htm Is Mapsource only for use with a Garmin GPS?

  5. Fiancee and I are planning a bike ride along a trail that has lots of caches along it, plus we will be stopping in two parks off the trail that have a ton. We use the iphone app for our searches right now. We have found 45 caches that are around the planned route. Not saying we will find them all or even end up looking for them all. But we want to have all the info for them, in case we decide to look for them. I know with the iphone app it will show all the caches around you and then you can look up the descriptions and all that. But we thought it would be faster (and help save on battery life) to have paper copies of the descriptions and clues (some are puzzles) is there an easier way than looking up each one individually and printing the info? We figured if we had all of it printed we could just use the iphone to get us as close as possible, then switch to the papers so we don't wear down the battery as fast. Any suggestions will be helpful.
  6. My fiancee and I are brand new to geocaching, and we really want to send some coins out to watch them travel, but with both of us in school full time and planning a wedding, we can't afford any. If anyone has any left, we would love to adopt some. We will definitely repay the opportunity when we can. I actually heard about geocaching from a friend and thought it was the perfect thing for the fiancee and I do to. It would get us outside (away from the non stop studying) doing something fun and it would be a semi-cheap date idea, since we are strapped for cash. We are using the Iphone right now, but my father said we could pick out the GPS we want and he would either pay for all or part of it (depending on how extravagant we get) as part as our wedding gift. Actually there was more to it... he said we couldn't get my mother involved with geocaching because according to him, she has too many hobbies already. Lol, but we can't wait to get out and do more Geocaching.
  7. Thanks, didn't see the regional forums till after I posted it here! :-)
  8. I posted this in the main forum, but then after looking around the forums more, saw there was region specific forums, so thought I would retry it here: Hey everyone, my fiancee and I just started Geocaching (had our first find earlier today). Anyways, we were supposed to go out of town for Easter, but he couldn't get off work for part of it. We both have Good Friday off, and I was thinking it might be fun for us to plan an outdoor activity (if St. Louis weather cooperates, which it rarely does). We live really close to Grant's Trail, specifically we would probably be entering the Trail behind Grant's Farm, near Whitecliff Park. I thought it might really build some excitement for us and give us a nice break from studying and working, so thought maybe a day finding numerous caches would be alot of fun, and give us some exercise. Looking at the map, there are a ton of Geocaches along this trail, was wondering what everyone's favorites were. We have only seen one cache so far, so we would love a wide variety, so we can see lots of different things. Haven't decided which direction we will be going, but we will probably be on bikes. Posts your favorites please! K P.S. We currently only have an Iphone to use, since any spare money goes to wedding planning right now.
