  1. One was showing picked up by someone so I grabbed it from them. I don't think it was my cousins because I asked her if they logged the finds and she said no. The other trackable is still showing in the cache which is where Sharon (my cousin) said they found it. I guess I can show it grabbed by me as well. Sorry for the delay in responding. The tummy bug hit the 6 year old and then moved onto the rest of us. Darn public school and other kids germs!
  2. You will need to log something to get them into your hands before you can log dropping them into another cache. The method that Bear and Ragged suggested is ideal, but not the only possibility. I think mpilchfamily is leading you astray as there is no "Found" log for a trackable. You will either "Grab" them from your cousins, "Grab" them from "Somewhere Else" or you could "Retrieve" them from the cache that they're in (but since you didn't really do that, that's not the best option in this case.) Are they both showing as currently being a cache--though not the same one?
  3. I have cousins in North Ireland who also geocache. They found 2 different Travel Bugs. My aunt and uncle are currently visiting us here in Texas. They brought me the travel bugs my cousin found so they could be moving around the US. I'm pretty sure my cousin didn't log their finds on the website. I did look up the 2 travel bugs online. One shows dropped off in March. The other just shows last found in Feb. at a different location than the 1st one. So do I need to log that I've "found" them? Or just log when and what cache I drop them off at? Can I log them as found under my profile although I technically didn't find them? Sorry if that sounds confusing. I didn't get much sleep last night. Thanks! Elizabeth
  4. I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I thought I'd try geocaching with my 5 year old for some fun outdoor family time. We've looked for "pirate treasure" 3 times now with no success. They were all 1/1 and my iPhone 3G had us practically on top of the cache (within 2-8 feet)but we still couldn't find them. The caches were medium sized. The 1st one it started raining so that may have been the problem. And the 1st one showed a log with a person finding it that morning! My son said that the "pirates were sneaky to hide the treasure so good". I am going to read the logs again and file a DNF. There were lots of helpful ideas/suggestions in this thread. Thanks! I think I will be getting a GPS eventually too. My son had tons of fun and this is a great activity for him and me. We can even do it while traveling!
