  1. I keep my caches in GSAK, and I maintain the history in there but it's not straightforward. If you log caches with an app which allows you to create a log template then it might be possible to automatically record the D/T in the template, I use Locus and my template appends this to all my logs:
  2. It's not GME related, I use that and the problem exists with or without the extensions enabled. I'm pretty sure this is a problem at the GS end so unlikely we can do anything to fix it until they sort it out at their end.
  3. Just tried this myself and I see the same but it only seems to happen on 4 of the peak months on my profile and sometimes if I move the mouse away and come back it doesn't happen - strange. Firefox on Linux.
  4. As to how : It's always been possible for a CO to change the hidden date on a cache, nowadays I believe you can only change it to a date within the last year, but at one time you could make it any date, even one before Geocaching was invented. Changing the date doesn't create any sort of log so there's no record on the cache page of when it was done. As to why : I remember a discussion years ago about a CO who always changed the hidden date every time he did maintenance to the date of the maintenance visit, I dont think the discussion ever got to the bottom of why he did it though. Maybe this CO is doing the same for whatever reason, but the only way to know for sure would be to ask him.
  5. Events are automatically archived after 30 days if the EO hasn't already done it, personally I think 30 days it too long, but then I think 1 day is too short... https://coord.info/GL1BRAMV9
  6. Yes I get the same, looks like a problem at their end.
  7. Just tried this, and after clicking the name column to sort alphabetically the URL contains /results?sort=geocacheName whereas after clicking the link to page 2 the URL changes to /results?sort=distance
  8. Hmm, never had anything like that. On the one hand it almost sounds like they're fishing hoping you will give them the co-ords that they don't have. If I was you I'd message them back pointing them at https://www.geocachingtoolbox.com/ which has the tools to convert between all the co-ordinates formats and W3W.
  9. In that case some the map options @CAVinoGal showed above will showed above includes all the info you requested. You need to click the layers button beneath the Search Geocaches button:
  10. Hmm, interesting. I had exactly the same on one I changed a few weeks ago, I only moved it 3m. I know it's close to the boundary between Southern England and South East England but not close enough to have crossed the boundary AFAIK but didn't dig any deeper. Seeing this I wonder if it is a bug in the system.
  11. That wouldn't generate an error, it would simply return as many caches as there are within 5miles, the 500 is simply the upper limit of the number to be returned. Sounds to me like one of the PQ servers was having trouble and either it's been fixed or you're now directing to a different box which is working OK.
  12. Well given that the YOSM caches were established with the cooperation/support of Groundspeak, in particular Jeremy, with the specific intention that they would be able to be logged with multiple finds, and then YOSM was shut down because it was a cache which was being logged with multiple finds then yes I think that "spurious" fits...
  13. Well yes and no. Other countries do have their variations of survey markers but benchmarks in the Geocaching sense were only available in the USA from the start by intent. I'm not sure why they restricted it to USA but that's how the old YOSM virtual (https://coord.info/GC45CC) in the UK and it's equivalent in Canada came about in order that we could participate in benchmark hunting too. Sadly the YOSMs were shut down by TPTB for spurious reasons which was a sad day IMO. Sometimes it seems that some of the inventiveness, creativity and thinking outside the box which was present in the early days has been lost in the quest to attract the masses via the apps and a "one size fits all" mentality is emerging.
  14. To be honest this UK group doesn't see a lot of activity these days. You're better off joining a Facebook geocaching group and asking in there; there's a very active group called "Geocaching UK" and there's probably a regional one for where you're based. I know not everyone uses or wants to use FB but it's where all the action is these days and I initially joined for the Geocaching group chats.
  15. Thanks, I have already changed some things to have GSAK do this for some lists but that's not the complete solution for me at the moment.
  16. Well no, I currently have about 50 PQs which run through the week and that gets me all the caches within my home and work regions so I want to keep them. I then have a lot of lists, some with hundreds and some with just a handfull of caches. Being able to quickly grab the GPX for any list I want at any time was very convenient, I would do that often with some of lists and maybe never for others. In order to keep that convenience it would mean I'd have to be running many PQs just to keep the GPX available on demand and even then the GPX could be 6 days old at the time I get it, and to be honest it would end up being even less convenient than going to the lists page, scrolling to the list I want and clicking download GPX.
  17. I clicked it and it returns 11,388 caches for me! Looking at the search criteria it's everything within 30miles of home, including ones I've found.
  18. Thanks, but I don't have enough free PQ slots for the number of lists I'm working with.
  19. Prior to the recent updates to the list pages it was possible to download the .gpx for a bookmark using a URL similar to:- https://www.geocaching.com/plan/api/gpx/list/BMBKEFQ I don't remember where I came across that little nugget but it's been very useful over the years but nolonger works. It looks like the "download gpx" function on the lists page is now a javascript or css function or something similar. So does the hive-mind know of a way this can now be achieved via a similar favourite/bookmark link?
  20. Choose an app which allows you to save offline caches and to use offline maps, then you won't need to use any data out in the field. On Android I use Locus Maps with the geocaching4Locus addon and free OSM maps, it's then possible to download caches for an area I'm heading to before leaving home; I believe Cachly on iPhone has similar functionality.
