  1. Well we hope the integrity of Geocaching, and Geocacher's, will prevail, to help Her travel on Her endless journey safely. Many Thanks my Friends, for your Support. You know, the Uncle Bob thing sounds like a good idea to go out with, for real? LOL
  2. Would It Be Bad Etiquette To Have A Memorial Bug? What I would like to know (Your Opinions) if it would It be bad etiquette to have a Memorial Bug? My Grandmother recently passed away. I have an astrology coin with her sign on one side, and Her name, and birthday on the other. The coin is the size of a silver dollar, in a bezel with a loop, to easily to hook a Travel Bug tag to. I would name it after Her and it will mean a lot to me to see Her still kicking around the world as she did like to travel., Your comments are appreciated.
  3. Thanks fly, I was just worried about who had to enter the activation code. So it's me, and I do not have to send you the plastic wrapper with the activation code on it. GOT IT ... sorry for all the bugging! Thanks.
  4. I use the nickel batteries, they are more money and must be used with the right charger. They last very long on a charge, and I am very happy with them. My etrex Legend has a setting for the battery types, in the setup menu somewhere. Check for it. Maybe that's all that's wrong?
  5. I've also created the account for the travel bug race. The bugs will be logged into this account february 1. The same day I log them into the race, I will announce the caches for the race on the website and here in this thread. did not see this, I am very new to this, and will need things spelled out sometimes. Still leaves questions? Thanks.
  6. Ok fly46, my bugs arrived. I'm just waiting for the Wife"s #97 1/64 diecast to get here in the mail, and was told 2 - 3 more days. Then all 3 entry's, plus the check is in the mail to you. Dale Sr is ready... One question, I just received my Travel Bug's. You might have gone over this before,? Just need the facts! you know, to be double sure! Ok the question: Do I log the new TB's I just received, or do you in Daytona? Thanks.
  7. I wouldn't mess with the cow poop down here. (Florida) Some pretty bad mushrooms growing out of them!
  8. This is cool stuff, especially the old ones. Sense I almost sucked up all the traditional caches in my scooter range, (4-5 miles) we will try to go after some benchmarks today. Thanks.
  9. Stay strong as you sound. Remember the lawyers do not care about the cheating or anything like that, all they care about is the money. Better cry poor to them or they will get it out of you.
  10. Water a must! Honest John And Suzies Jule
  11. My Legend c was an early Christmas, like way early, try DEC 1st. Of course we had to get the map set also. But I feel sorry for you people that got hit with all that snow. Sure would be a bummer hunting in that stuff. Better get some plane tickets and head down here for some fun in the sun! Lot of caches here! 78 degrees now Honest John & suzies Jule
  12. What happened to the poster? Come on chime in! Don't feel bad, but you will for a while. I had a trip like you, and came out smelling like roses with my 3rd new wife! For evidence I'm sure he knew and or was suspicious of someone to begin with, and just needed to see the car at that location?
  13. QUOTE by fly46 I can't wait until I have a big ol pile of bugs sitting here. Of course, mine still need to be added to the pile! lol! You have to take a picture of that pile and post it... PLEASE!
  14. When my day comes, finding a T-Bug, and if a situation like slapshot52's happens,- I like the idea of taping it to the micro, only if it didn't hurt the cache in any way. Like making it fall out of a hiding place or make the micro more visible. Anyway we are looking foward to our first one!
  15. Thanks fly46, I will have Dale, Sr. My Wife Susan would like #97 Kurt Bush Our Dog, Julie, would like Dale, Jr. for our 3rd entry. *Sorry, Diecast in pictures will not be making the trip, But some 1/64's will.*
  16. SNOW? Whats that? Wait, that's right, it did snow in Miami once!
  17. I remember musing about a rule of thumb on "how close is too close" back before we had the 528 foot guideline. Just searched for it, and I found that I was remembering a thread from August of 2001. Here it is. Thanks Markwell, that was the feedback I was looking for. With private property the way it is, and hundreds of searchers, all there can be is parks, at least around here in South Miami. Sounds like you been around for a while, and I bet back then, private property was OK, and was the norm?
  18. I am very new here, and seek an answer/opinon. I think I looked hard enough through the general rules, and forums for this answer. I could have missed something? OK, the question is: Can you hide a cache in the same park, where there is already an established cache? If so, how far apart should they be? Maybe a rule of thumb? I'm sure there are people out there with the same problem in urban areas, with limited hiding areas. Of course if it's OK, I wouldn't put one on top of the other, but what would be a good distance? It would bring Searcher's back to the area. That's if it's a good idea.
  19. How do I get on this Xmas list??? I like the night vision scope!
