I've got a Vista - basically the same unit - and haven't yet run into a situation where it made any difference at all whether I was set to Track-up or North. Just my two cents. Can't find this in the faq (although I know I've read it somewhere): how do I put a quote from a pervious post into one of MY posts? Charlie "One should never begin a journey by heading in the wrong direction..."

Here's something I haven't figured out in four months: you can access a window with the keystroke/smiley-face list on it... but I can't open the WHOLE window to see all of the faces. I second what rdw says: if you can get a lock while out in the clear, you stand a much better chance of holding it once you're under cover... Congrats! Good luck focussing on your job for a while... Charlie "One should never begin a journey by heading in the wrong direction..."

All right, I posted the event cache. Probably left out some stuff - let me know. I suggested that all further communication be logged on the cache page itself, so there will be a rough idea of how many people are coming. I'll post it. Let me run the info by you that I've gathered from this thread, so you guys can tell me what I've left out before I put it up: SoCal Geocacher's Picnic Sunday, March 17. I agree. I found the feature useful when someone vandalized one of my caches. I pulled it until I replaced the box and altered the location, then put it back on-line... Charlie

Look, you know what? I don't know anything about Jeremy. For all I know, he's really a woman or an eight year-old boy or... whatever. And I don't care how much money he's making. I just like caching. And if $30 is going to make it more enjoyable, or challenging, or fun - for anyone - then it's a worthwhile investment. My kids like hiking. They didn't used to. Can I pay for TWO years in advance?
