  1. There is some good information here... www.finishing.com/174/78.shtml
  2. I have always been allergic to it. A couple of weeks ago I noticed some of it on my finger. Since I was at work I had nothing available except what was in the first aid cabinet. I soaked a paper towel with hydrogen peroxide and held it on there a few minutes to hopefully stop the itching. Two hours or so later I looked at it and instead of a blister there was a slightly red place where the blister was. Today is the fourth time recently I have done this as I have been caching a lot lately and it has worked every time. What amazes me, is that it is a cheap and extremely effective treatment, that I have found quite by accident. I will add I have not allowed the rash to get very established before applying the hydrogen peroxide and this last time the blisters were a little worse than the first three times and I had to keep it on there for several minutes longer. It may be my skin type or some other unknown factor, but I have been telling everyone about it when the subject comes up. The effectiveness is unbelievable! I know it sounds as if I'm selling something but the product is very cheap and it has worked for me and I hope it will you as well. Since learning this I have went caching without fear of the stuff unlike before. I'm not sure how bad the rash would have to be not to be effective, but I hope it works for everyone the same as with me. Good luck.
  3. These are some good programs I guess, but none are JAVA or J2ME apps. I also use a JAVA based phone and I am still looking for something as well. I would like to be able to get rid of one extra electronic device to wag around ie.(Palm IIIxe). Although not ready to ditch my 76s that still works fine in favor of an more expensive "all in one" device. I currently have a data plan and use Opera mini 4.2 to save pages for viewing offline. This is mainly for new caches without having to run another query. But the Palm with Cachemate makes the process easier for now except for having to keep up with it. For me I'm not going with the CO or OR until they have phone capabilities. Imagine an affordable GPSr/cellphone/camera. It would have speech/autorouting, paperless, capable to log via uploadlog link on geocaching.com, touch screen w/stylus, Wifi, Quadband, 5MP minimum w/Zenon flash.....etc. Come on people, this is not rocket surgery.
  4. I'll try to remember everything I typed the first time before my post got lost on the interweb..... If you're set on quick and easy, albeit less permanent you may stop reading here. Go to your local fabric store and get some fleece camo material. Discount store or automotive parts store for 3M spray adhesive. Also you will need some disposable gloves. Precut material to fit container making slits so that when put in place, will not have pleats sticking out like porcupine quills, if your into looks. You will need to give some thought about how you will hold each piece in place before spaying as this is very messy. You might want to do the container in sections to minimize the mess and allow for a more neat application with total coverage. Just let each application dry before applying the next. The effectiveness of this camo is (I think) much better than duct tape because there is no sheen given off at any angle light is applied. I have used this method on game cameras that have spent years off and on in the woods with no issues. I have only used this on metal containers but I can't imagine it being any less durable on plastic or wood. Although to be on the safe side, on plastic I would wipe the container with acetone or denatured alcohol to remove any oils that might be present. Be careful if using acetone on plastic, if too much is used it has a tendency to dissolve most plastics. Just wipe briefly and it will be fine. Good luck
  5. EasyGPS Companion combines several loc. files into one. Make copy of combined file. 1) To Cachemate File Converter then HotSync to PalmIIIxe. 2) To EasyGPS, send to Garmin 76S. Sony Ericsson W810i with Opera mini browser, +/-300 cache web pages saved. GO CACHING! HotSync Cachemate Soon to be using Express Logger to upload logs. Aside from the monthly web charge (which I would have whether I cached or not) all free.
  6. Want to use this handheld for mapping if at all possible. What, if any are my options? I've tried to do a search but can't quite find anything this specific. Thanks for your help and advice in advance. mr.bb
