  1. I have no idea what it is, but you guys have helped me before. Can you help me identify yet another? Thanks! Oh, I guess I should mention that I found it at Little Qualicum Falls, on Vancouver Island.
  2. Thank you everybody! Gotta love the forums.
  3. Anyone know what plant this is? Seen in Duncan, on Vancouver Island. Thanks!
  4. I do believe you're right! Thank you, Pup.
  5. Ah, well, thanks anyway. I'm having fun anyway, browsing the different countries and ordering by points as you suggested.
  6. Thanks, Pup, that'll work for specific places, but is it possible to get a global list?
  7. Hi again, everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend. I'm wondering if anyone can identify this plant for me. I spotted it a couple of times when visiting Saturna Island, British Columbia. Thanks! JoPo2010
  8. Hi everyone. Is it possible to search by caches with the most favorite points? I'd like to see a descending list. I'm just curious about the caches that have received the most points. I noticed that Bernie's Traveling Geocache has received 135, and it got me to wondering. Thanks! JoPo2010
  9. Yeah, birdcaches!! Awesome! LOL @ MikeandHike. That's funny.
  10. It is! It's a tree swallow! I didn't need to hear the notes to recognize that those are the birds I saw--they're lovely. I've never seen them before. Thank you.
  11. Anyone know the name of this bird? I searched high and low and can't find it. Seen at GC24J8X East Point Earthcache. Thanks.
  12. Here is a nice list of all the firsts. Scroll down a screen or two to the section with all the red and purple lines. Awesome! Thanks!
  13. I tried querying by country, and there's no problem getting results for Canada, but, am I blind, or is there no selection for United States??? I want a list of the earliest caches placed in the United States. Ideas anyone? I think the USA is only by state. If I am wrong someone will be along to correct me. Awww. Okay, so can anyone tell me what state the first caches were placed, and I will start my search there first. (Shame on me! I should probably already know that!)

  15. Hi, Is there a way I can search for geocaches in my province based on date placed? I'd like to see a list of the oldest caches in my province. Is this possible? Thanks!
  16. Hi, I want to add a photo to my first cache listing, but I don't know how to embed it. I don't want it as a background image, nor do I want it a link. Do you know what I mean? I just want to see the image above or below the cache description. Anyone know how to do that? Thanks!
  17. First of all, I'm a newbie, and was an even newer newbie not that long ago. Using the excuse that people are newbies and might not know what to do with a TB is a poor one indeed. I figured it out, no problem, on how to log a TB or geocoin--it's pretty straightforward. I may get some negative feedback for my opinion, but the cynic in me is far more suspicious of the reasons behind trackables that go MIA. I feel certain that some just steal them. I was in BC recently and went to a cache that had 8 TBs listed when I went (GCP3CB) and NOT ONE was there! What are the odds that 8 people just 'forgot' to log them? Or didn't know how to log them? Even worse, I had brought several TBs and coins from caches here in Ontario with me when I went to BC, placed them. It wasn't until I had gone to several BC caches that had trackables listed, and finding none there, and after speaking with some local cachers, that I realized that Vancouver Island is infamous for TBs and coins going missing. <sigh> The truth of the matter, IMHO, is that some people are just plain party poopers. As for cleaning up and bagging TBs with a printed copy of their mission, I think that's great! It doesn't harm the trackable, and may even ensure it a long life. I like it when people care about our wonderful hobby by taking good care of our traveling buddies and taking pics of them in their travels and whatnot. Yayyy to those cachers!
  18. I, too, would like to know how to post a pic. I know about the upload button, but instead I want the pic to appear right on the TB page. I'm guessing I'd have to embed the picture using html, but I'm not sure how. Anyone know? See: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=2446605. Thanks.
  19. I'm not convinced there was a laminated card, or that it got separated from the TB, or that it traveled to Wisconsin. I'm not sure that the TB was missing to begin with. I was the first person to visit the cache since the date the TB was dropped there. I will log that I have found the TB and will send a polite suggestion to the TB owner. Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like when these fraudsters reported that they "dropped" the bug in a cache in Wisconsin, the next guy seeing that it was not there reported it missing. Shouldn't these guys be banned, or suspended or something. Maybe you should e-mail Groundspeak. It was one of the fraudsters that reported it missing. Perhaps to add to the credibility of his post? Banning seems severe, but some kind of moderating would be nice. It's disappointing when people choose to cheat and spoil the fun.
  20. Unfortunately, TB owner left original photo (with tracking number exposed) in the list of viewing photos. <sigh> LOL @ "too much to drink." Yeah, he had a good time. Yeah, babyyyy!!! Woot! I would not suggest banning, but it would be nice if there was some way to moderate what I believe to be cheaters. I absolutely believe it was intentional. Just look at the TB logs of two people in particular, and their TB affiliation. If it walks and talks like a duck...

  22. Yesterday I picked up Gary the Gecko TB (http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=885555) from GC15GF5, in British Columbia. No TBs were supposed to be in the cache. When I entered the tracking number, it shows that its location is unknown, but that it was last seen in GC15GF5--the very same cache that I picked it up from. Even more curious, someone logged that he found it in Wisconsin, and then moved it to another cache. Then another guy, also from Wisconsin, logs that he 'discovered' it. This TB's web pic exposes its tracking number, unfortunately. I read in the forums that some people falsely put miles on TBs by way of photos that show the tracking serial numbers. It got me to wondering... I started looking at the profiles of the two people that logged miles on Gary the Gecko. It seems they know each other. I looked at the list of trackables that they've both moved and discovered. It seems that they were the last to see several TBs that have gone MIA, but not before logging more miles on the TB...in Wisconsin. It also appears that sometimes missing TBs even pass between them. There are other TB anomalies between these two people, but they are too numerous to list here. So anyway, on to my questions... 1/ How do I log this TB? 2/ Should I be contacting the TB owner to tell him to remove the pic with the tracking number showing? Or are there Groundspeak monitors that do that? 3/ And what about false logging of TB miles? Who moderates that? Or does it get moderated? Thanks.
