  1. GPS is old, but in good shape. Nothing wrong with it except it needs a new battery hatch. Comes with carrying case. shows signs of use. Takes two AAA's Works with rechargeables. A good GPS for someone that wants to get started in the game but dosen't want all the fancy features. Tell me what you have to offer, Balls, Bags, Shoes, Wrist supports. All offers considered.
  2. Getting out of Geocaching after five years to make time for my new fun sport: Bowling These caches and the one TB are up for adoption, if interested, please send me a PM. Would rather adopt them out instead of just getting rid of them. 3. Anyone have a medium or large geocaching logo saved on their hard drive that they can post on here? Would like to print one out so i can place it on my logbook for a new cache. tried looking thru Google Images but only turned up team logos and such. Thank you geocaching community - Pyropete
  4. Hey fellow Geocachers, I was bored so I decided to start a thread about my opinion about the Vista HCX. Would be nice to know if anyone had the same feelings as I on this, so please chime in your thoughts about the HCX. My 2 cents about the HCX: 1. The unit responds fast to buttons pressed and is quick scrolling thru pages. Although it is rather slow when looking at City Nav Nt maps, it takes a considerable amount of time for all the detail to load up. 2. The speaker on the back of the unit is too quiet. I've read several other posts of people complaining about this as well. Plus I wonder if the opening for the speaker on the back would allow water to get in. 3. I never really liked the "Highway" page on the GPSr. The regular map gives me more detail and is easier to guess when a turn is coming up. just my opinion though 4. I haven't had problems with the rubber around the unit yet, mainly because my GPS sees more dust time sitting around instead of being out caching. I try to keep it as clean as I can so no dirt gets between the two. I guess I will be extra careful with it now that I read that others are having this problem to. 5. It would be nice to have more than the 1000 waypoint memory. Yes, I know about using POI loader and putting POI's on the MicroSD. would just rather be able to have more than 1000 Caches in the memory so I can just grab my unit and go without worrying about not having cache data for a certain area. Thank your for reading this far. I'm sure I could add a lot more, but I can't think of any other things at the moment. - Pyropete
  5. With all these new GPSr in the market, you think they would at least boost the internal waypoint memory from the old 1000 to something better. Guess thats too much to ask for.
  6. Go ahead and enable the EGNOS/WAAS your accuracy will increase, but at the expense of a little bit more juice from your batteries.
  7. Well i installed POI Loader today and I'm still trying to figure out how I could just store the waypoints on the MicroSD card and not the internal memory. I downloaded a coordinate and saved it as a .GPX file, but for some reason the program (POI Loader) dosen't recognize it. I have EasyGPS installed on my PC and everytime I save a GPX file, it uses EasyGPS to open it. Maybe removing EasyGPS would help, but I'm not sure. I would of posted screenshots but the image servers i use must of took a day off today. Any and all help will be much appreciated. I'm sure i'll be able to figure this out soon. - Pete
  8. I wish i could upload waypoints to the MicroSD and have it read from there instead of being limited to 1000 waypoints in the internal memory. I wonder if we will ever see this feature.
