  1. Please message me and I will send you the details. We can negotiate from there.
  2. I think you are getting this all wrong. It is about a new mechanism to build on adoption not to create adoption itself. To adopt a cache using the mechanism, it still needs the past owner’s consent.
  3. Hello, just out of interest, I want to know if any of you fellow cachers leave currency in geocaches. I am just curious.
  4. Hello, I have been noticing that many perfectly fine geocaches have been archived due to the owner not wanting to maintain them or because of a minor issue. This gave me an idea. What if there can be a little feature where you can make yourself available for adopting a cache and owners can see it in a tab. An owner can also make their cache available for adoption. It would be like a tab which will show up with a list of local cachers which are available and a tab with a list of caches which are available. With buttons like “request for someone to adopt” and “request to adopt”. This will make finding a adoptor or cache to adopt easier then posting in the forums which are not really a place for local affairs. I would like to see this feature implemented in order to ensure that the experience I had can be shared with other cachers.
  5. Is that supposed to be a suggestion or a fact?
  6. Hello. I know this is quite controversial, but is it okay to respond to the reviewer note for this cache? (GC94CFP) I was suspended from submitting caches, but this cache was already submitted. The suspension mail reads like this: “Taken in context with past warnings and the recent suspension of your account, we are concerned that you are not acting in good faith with this cache submission. Therefore, we are suspending your cache hiding privileges for a period of 1 month. This suspension applies to you personally in every way. During the suspension period you are not to submit geocaches (including events) for publication using your personal account, a team account, or any other account including the accounts of others. Nor will you be permitted to adopt any geocache listings. You may continue to use Geocaching.com's services to find geocaches and enjoy the game in all other ways besides hiding caches. Your cooperation with this suspension is required.” I am asking this to be safe rather than sorry. By the way, the title of the cache is supposed to convey the next level engineering of the cache. I would like if an expert can answer this dilemma.
  7. Hello. I was just wondering what makes a cacher bad in a community. Full stop, just that.
  8. I agree. Instead of discarding a much loved feature, why not merge it into the other “updated” feature. There was nothing to fix in the first place. By merging them, the cost of maintaining the “old” feature is now eliminated.
  9. I want the old one back. It has more functions (e.g can view when a cache was last found). The new version is annoying and inconvenient, especially when I am planning a trackable gathering trip or viewing if someone has left swag or something in a cache. Is there a similar thing to the old version? The feature was the reason why I use the geocaching website and now with it removed, there is no use in me visiting the website. Please delete the new version due to it being quite lacking and hard to interact with and bring back the old version. It will save time. Edit: Removing functionality for basic members to see logs is going way to far. Imagine being a beginner trying to find your first cache which does not even have a hint. I think it is a step backwards from the previous updates. Instead of bringing more players in and getting more people to go premium (by making them have to pay to see logs). It is just pushing them back due to the lack of functionality. This also destroys the ability of all members voting which logs are the best. Please revert this update. We are getting annoyed with having to look through each cache.

  11. Hello, I do not know why, but somehow on the website, when I click on the geocaches a user has found and then click on the type, it just shows up with a randomly arranged list of geocaches. Back in the day, there was a chronological list where you can see if the caches are for beginners, if the caches have trackables, if they are premium, their D/T rating and you can send them to your GPS device. (Those are just the main features) What happened? Why has it changed? Can it please be reverted because it is getting annoying especially when I am looking through the list of caches I have found to see if they have been found to see if somebody might have added some new swag or trackables.
  12. Hello, I see local catchers listing their caches with “maintained by” and then the username. How do they find people to do the work for them so easily and how can I do it myself?
  13. I did not adopt the caches. Those are my caches. Here are the GC codes. GC94AR4 and GC94AR5.Plus they were retracted.
  14. The reviewer is Ministro. I do not find him quite easy to cooperate with. And from the rules, and my suspension mail, it does not mention unarchival after suspension. You cannot see those caches which I archived because as soon as they were published, I disabled then archived them since the reviewer retracted the caches after I disabled them. (The cache mentioned in the letter is not one of these caches). The reviewer basically asked why I was disabling them right after publication when I was just thinking if the cache should live on. Need answers supported by facts.
  15. But technically, hasn’t it already been published? Is your claim supported by Groundspeak or the rules? Does it just depend on the reviewer? Just asking for proof since I am confused about this situation. Forgot to mention but the reviewer is Ministro so maybe you can ask him or Groundspeak directly?
  16. I have hidden many. Seven are still active and 2 were published and are now archived. The rest are caches that never made it past publication to to several factors. The seven which are active are currency themed caches located in Brisbane, Australia.
  17. Remember that in a reddit post that there were over 200 million players as of March 2021. Could be right or wrong.
  18. Hello, I have been suspended from hiding caches, however there are caches which have already been published which I archived and are still there. Is it possible to unarchive them under my suspension? The suspension letter reads like this: “Taken in context with past warnings and the recent suspension of your account, we are concerned that you are not acting in good faith with this cache submission. Therefore, we are suspending your cache hiding privileges for a period of 1 month. This suspension applies to you personally in every way. Nor will you be permitted to adopt any geocache listings. You may continue to use Geocaching.com's services to find geocaches and enjoy the game in all other ways besides hiding caches. Your cooperation with this suspension is required. At the conclusion of the suspension, we trust that any cache submissions will be fully compliant with the hiding guidelines and our Terms of Use. Further issues would result in more disciplinary action against your account. Regards, Geocaching HQ Admin”.
  19. Hello all, in my local area there are two geocaches which owner is now inactive. I see they are at a threat of being archived and I want to acquire them. How do I contact the original owner respectfully and without getting reported or something else bad happening? The geocaches’ codes are: GC4F7QP and GC4FD46.
