  1. Thanks for pointing this out. I know it's confusing to a lot of people. I do wish TPTB would change that transaction to be a bit more standard. Like giving immediate feedback that the site has registered the button press by dimming the button, then later giving feedback that the query actually ran. Rather like what happens when you submit a standard PQ: Something gets bolded when the query has run. --Larry I agree. I assume the site's having problems again, since the My Finds didn't automatically go "dark". I know from previous attempts that pressing it once eventually works. I was hoping to get some stats going today but I guess I'll go caching instead
  2. Shilo, have you firmed up the plans for the launch? What about having multiple simultaneous events across the country/world, like a Flash Mob, where folks come, take X # of coins, and go from there? I don't like the idea of putting them in 3 or 4 caches all at once, unless those caches are similar to View Carre where the cache is under lock and key.
  3. This is so weird, I actually came onto this forum looking for this very answer. Tonight, I was looking at caches near WDW and ran across this virtual that has been logged 2,289 times.
  4. Congrats to the winners. All 5 of mine that were in this race are missing
  5. It is nice to see these coins actually moving! I think all but 1 of my PGR2 coins are MIA.
  6. Not anymore! I just dropped my final 3. No more racers in our posession! YAY!
  7. So you're the reason I have 100+ notification e-mails Probably so! All 34 I've had have now been dropped at least once; I still have 3 in my possession that will be gone by this weekend, or at least by next Tuesday.
  8. All 26 that tasia brought home have now been put out in caches around Birmingham as of 6PM tonight. We traded out 8 behind Lazer, so now we have 8 more to get out, but at least those already have miles on them. We have 3 events in the next week (Weds, Fri and then Tues) and it is Memorial Day weekend coming up. Most of the caches we put them in get heavy traffic, so hopefully they'll get out of Alabama soon! Shilo, you might want to update the main page on the PGR website, it still talks about the PGR3 launch as if it is going to happen in the future.
  9. it's what they deliver buffalo in...
  10. A geocoin is a geocacher's form of crack. They are very addictive. I know people who have shoeboxes full of them and maxed out credit cards. Stay away from them. Very, very far away. For collectors, they are just that, collectibles. I myself like to use them in the same way travel bugs are used. Just activate them, and send them out in the wild. I also enjoy helping other cachers' coins move along from cache to cache. I am just giving you fair warning. One day you're looking on eBay at the pretty coins, the next day you're looking at the balance on your Visa to see if you can afford to have your own coin minted. Then a year later you have a box of 300 coins and you don't know what to do with them. So you decide to sell them at a loss to pay down your maxed out credit card. That's my $0.02, take it or leave it.
  11. Yes I did. I can't fix it because I don't have the tracking number. The owner can do it though. Whoever has the coin can just 'grab' it and just place it in another cache. The coin might not get the proper miles though. The person with the coin contacted me again so I just pulled it from the wrong cache and put it in the right cache. Sorry if this messes up anything, but the newbie was getting impatient and I was worried that they would just mess it up worse than it already is.
  12. Shilo did you see the note I posted on a coin (not my own) today?
  13. I also sent e-mails to both the people involved with my AGA coin. The American guy said he would fix it but hasn't done so yet. He asked for the coin tracking # even though all he had to do was go to his log and change the date.
  14. Sweet! I can't believe I'm winning. I've never had a trackable go to Germany, ever.
  15. My wife and I own a large TB spa and have seen several large bugs over the last year. To answer your question, someone will find a way to get your Build-A-Bear TB into a cache. More than likely it will wind up travelling from event to event. Here's the heaviest bug I've ever come across: Took 2 strong men to carry it at GW5... and here it is in our cache, along with a large frog TB: Just for reference, that's a 7.62mm ammo can inside there... The cache container is a turtle sandbox, LOL.
  16. I think it might depend on the 'ADVENTURE'. Early November is sometimes still hot/humid in the south. I would lean more towards late winter myself....if I could make it. reepicheep It is pretty much hit and miss when it comes to "hot" in Alabama. It could be 25 degrees on November 12th and 80 on November 20th. Same thing in February and March. Dittydaddy, like BigDaddyD said, plan it and we'll try to make it. All of those are so far away, you never know what will come up, but after attempting the DeLorme challenge I would be interested in something like the Georace if that's what you're referring to.
  17. I've been gone so long I was wondering if someone "took their ball and went home" when I went to log in to alacache. Glad to know it is being worked on! Hi everyone, long time no see.
